This was her first stay in a care home and as such a strange experience for her. The thing that stood out for us was the genuine care and concern shown by all the staff and management. When she arrived she was very confused when she left the confusion had gone.

Our dad was with Dove Tree House for only six weeks, but he was loved, cared for, and supported wonderfully during this time. As a family, we could not or would not have wanted him to be anywhere else. We too experienced nothing but kindness and support from everyone at Dove Tree House. The management and staff are brilliant.

The team kept us informed of how Mum was doing and notified us of anything we needed to know - it was like having an extended family.
Sadly Mum passed away in January but even that super sad event was made easier by Dove Tree. They cared for Mum so well and looked after us! In mums final days, she was never alone when we weren’t with her and I can’t tell you how comforting it was to turn up in the morning or after nipping out to get a quick bite to eat, to come back and see one of the team sat with her. I will never forget it or them. I can’t speak highly enough of Dove Tree and its wonderful team (past and present).

So glad we found Dove Tree House for my brother. He has been cared for to the highest standard and treated with dignity. The home is clean and tidy and everyone is happy and smiling, staff and residents, which says a lot to me. Thank you to the manager and her staff for taking control and the weight from our shoulders, we know he is safe now and receiving the care and nursing he needs to keep him comfortable.
Good morning Nicola, thank you so much for leaving this really positive review of your experience with our care team and care home at Dove Tree House in Exeter. It's lovely to read how well your brother is being cared for and how this has lifted a weight from your own shoulders. I have to agree, we...
The downside is things go missing so my advice would be don’t take good clothes or valuables. The client I’m talking about had loads of toiletries go missing, his wallet with £60 and a brand new pair of trousers less than two weeks old with labels still on.
Hello Heather. Thank you for this really positive feedback with regards to your experience with our care team and care home at Dove Tree House in Exeter. I'm sorry to hear that your client has had items go missing. Given the sometimes complex care needs of some residents, specifically dementia-type...
I have always found all the staff to be welcoming and very caring with my elderly mum. An essential quality for a good care home. And they always find time to talk to me about any issues that may crop up. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Dove Tree House to anyone that asks me.

My mother has been a resident at Dove Tree for over 13 years now and has always been very happy there. Over the last year she has developed some fairly major health problems which are still ongoing. The level of care that mum has received and is still receiving has been incredible. I have been so impressed. I cannot praise the staff enough for their professionalism, and the way that they go above and beyond by doing ‘that little bit extra.’ The manageress clearly cares very deeply about the residents and is always available to talk to. Mum's care instructions are clearly laid out and are easy to follow while her room is clean, light and airy as is the whole home. The home is supported by a large team of professionals i.e. doctor, physiotherapist, occupational therapist and social worker, not to mention a whole team of district nurses, who have also helped my mum immensely. I can honestly say that if ever I had to choose a residential home for myself, it would be a Dove Tree.
Thank you so much for leaving this glowing review of your experience, and that of your Mum, of life at our Dove House Residential Care Home in Exeter. It's lovely to read that your Mum has been happy at Dove Tree for the 13 years that she has lived there. Dove Tree House joined the Stonehaven...
After my husband had a tumble out of bed the care he received afterwards was brilliant from one particular lady. The next day she cared for him again and even rang me to update me on his progress which I found really touching as previously I had to ring up asking for information.
Hello. Sorry to read that your husband had a tumble out of bed. Of course, that can happen, despite all that we do with regards to care plans and risk assessments, as we do our best to enable our residents to maintain their mobility and independence. I'm sure the care team will have further...
My 93-year-old Mother had gone straight from Hospital and moved into the home before Christmas originally for respite but is now going to stay and has settled in very well and is a lot happier, cleaner and healthier than she was at home, her mind is also clearer due to less stress. Mum says the food is lovely and she has people to talk to and also the staff are very helpful and friendly, I take my hat off to them. Her room had just been decorated and carpeted, new furniture with her own large TV which is her life. The room location she is in is very suitable for her needs due to her mobilisation issues and how she was at home, near to the loo and lift. It's great to see the change in mum, they have gardens which will be great for her in the summer months as she loves plants. There are visiting restrictions due to covid but it keeps the guest safe and can't be helped. The staff do try to accommodate visits best as possible.
Good morning Alvan. Thank you so much for this really positive and balanced review of your experience with our Care Team and Care Home at Dove Tree House in Exeter. It's lovely to read about how well your Mum is doing and how her physical and mental health have both improved since she moved in to...
My dad, at 98 with walking difficulties, is very happy at Dove Tree House and he has no complaints. The staff are tremendous and very welcoming and helpful and gives my father great help and support. All the staff seem to be very caring for all their residents. He is well looked after with good food, has his medicine regularly and is washed and cleaned daily. The home itself is very well run and they are still taking some Covid precautions by taking your temperature when you visit. No complaints whatsoever. They even e-mailed me with some concerns when he first went into the home which they resolved quickly without me having to get involved with other care agencies.
Hello Alan M. Thank you for taking the time to leave this 5 / 5 Star review of your experience with our Care Team and Care Home at Dove Tree House in Exeter. It's lovely to read that your Dad is happy at Dove Tree House. I agree, we do have a tremendous care team at Dove Tree House who work really...
Dove Tree House is not modern but is a homely, clean and comfortable care home with a lovely garden at the rear. My mother enjoys all her meals and seems to be very fond of the staff who look after her.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home.

We have a good rapport with the staff and the lovely manager and feel confident that they do their best for my dad, adjusting his care plan to suit Dad's needs and keeping him buoyant and supported. What more could we ask for?
We thank every single member of staff for all they have done and continue to do on a daily basis to keep all the residents safe and well, especially throughout the pandemic. Thank you team Dove Tree for making my dad smile and keeping him safe, well cared for and happy.
Hello Mandy G. What a lovely review - thank you so much for taking the time to leave it. It's lovely to read about how happy your Dad is at Dove Tree House and I have to agree, whenever I visit I feel exactly the same way about Dove Tree House. Thank you for highlighting how important (and good)...
I have always been totally satisfied with the care that has been provided for my brother who has lived at Dove Tree House since 2014 and continues to be very happy. This is mainly due to the excellence of the carers and all other staff, under the professional but kind and caring manager who has always ensured that the home was "just a big happy family" but paying particular attention to individual needs. Everyone has always been available to relatives of the residents to help and advise if necessary which has been reassuring. I was particularly impressed by the way everything was done during the Covid pandemic, including the provision of The Pod. I must admit that the increasing fees are worrying, if understandable in the present political and global climate, particularly for self-funding residents.
Hello Patricia B. Thank you for taking the time to publish this really positive and detailed review of our care team and care home at Dove Tree House in Exeter. It's lovely to read how happy you are with the care that your brother is receiving at Dove Tree. And I agree, this would not be possible...
Where do I begin when talking about the amazing care the Dove Tree House Care Home staff give their residents? My beautiful nan lived under their care for nearly three years but sadly she passed away three weeks ago on the 15th of August but what I can say is that she loved her time being cared for by these amazing people. The staff at Dove Tree have become family, they made my nan feel so special, she loved every minute with them. At times my nan could be cheeky but they knew straight away how to keep her cheekiness down. Though I didn't visit often the stories I would hear from my mum always made me smile. I know without a doubt that my nan was loved there and she will be truly missed. I would happily recommend this beautiful home to anyone because the care is outstanding. Towards the end of my nan's time at the home, I struggled to go in and see her but they let me sit in the garden and offered me drinks which made me feel very close. Just want to say a massive thank you.
Good afternoon Megan. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this detailed and clearly heartfelt and moving review of your experience with our care team and care home at Dove Tree House in Exeter. I can only agree - we do have an amazing team working at Dove Tree who clearly place the...
What I really need to emphasise is how amazing mum's end-of-life care was.
They gave me the time to stay by mum's side, to support them in Mum's care as I wanted to but obviously when I found this hard they gave Mum the love and attention whilst also supporting me through my grief.
They made Mum's home my home for me to be able to stay with Mum as she was scared.
We as a family watched the dedication, empathy, compassion and dignity to Mum and this brought us immense comfort.
They knew exactly when to call the appropriate people/hospice when Mum was showing signs of distress and helped make plans that supported Mum's needs for comfort.
During the final week, my brother and I were by Mum's side 24/7. They gave us this time we will be forever grateful for.
The Dove Tree team are just superb.
Hello Donna. Thank you for taking the time to publish this detailed and full marks review of your experience with our care team and care home at Dove Tree House in Exeter. The experience that you describe is clearly very moving and I know our care team at Dove Tree House will be really touched by...
We did not have a good experience with Dove Tree.
We found the majority of the staff very standoffish. The management was not satisfactory, unapproachable, and rude. The safety measures in place, in our experience, were poor.
Covid restrictions far too restrictive - best interests not valued. There was one caregiver we found true comfort and trust in.
We really don't understand what has happened between your last communications with Dove Tree and this...
My mum never had water/drinks available on hand 24/7, she had to ask but considering the fact she had dementia, she wouldn't have asked.
Some of the staff were not that friendly to myself or my partner (in front of my mum, which was upsetting for her).
On one visit they brought in my mum and told us she had wet herself (which upset and embarrassed my mum very much) the carer then left us without cleaning my mum.
Government guidelines were not followed, after visiting restrictions were lifted by the government, Dovetree ramped theirs up. We were told the tough restrictions suited them.
My mum eventually had a fall, broke her hip and sadly never recovered. She died in hospital on Jan 28th 2022.
My mum had a pressure mat alarm next to the bed but was found on the floor in the doorway of her room.
Personal opinion 0 stars.
Good afternoon. Thank you for leaving this review following your mother's stay with us at Dove Tree House. To address your concerns - CQC regularly visit Dove Tree House, their reports are published on the CQC website and are freely available for all to read - all are highly complimentary of the...
