Also, of course, that it meant a lot to you and his family to know that he was safe at Chollacott House. We do have an exceptional team at Chollacott House, a culture very much created by the exceptional leadership of our Registered Manager and her Senior Team. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this lovely review of your experience, and most importantly, that of your Dad, at our Chollacott House Care Home with Nursing in Tavistock, Devon. Thank you for recognising the care and dedication of our carers and management teams. The Registered Manager has advised me that she has already taken action to ensure that condiments are always available for all residents at meal times. We certainly do offer ice pops and ice creams on hotter days - a lovely treat and great way to help ensure good hydration. We introduced the hydration stations over a year ago to, again, encourage good hydration during the day. In some homes these were embellished to become 'treat stations'. This was never the plan as, as happened, we found that residents were eating too many of these snacks and then not wanting to eat their nutritious meals. It's really lovely to read that your Mum is being well looked after, is joining in with activities. It's also great that you and your family have found the management and care team to be kind and caring. I have to agree, we have a fantastic team and team culture at Chollacott House - it's a home from home where people have as much fun as they can. I always particularly enjoy visit to Chollacott, catching up with the team and learning about what new activities and events they have had and have planned. I note you comments ref cleanliness and call bell wait times - please do let the Care Home Manager or Senior on duty know if you have any concerns - it's always great if we can deal with them at the time. It's lovely to read that our care and nursing team and the whole experience has been 'first class' and that your mum has settled in well. I can only agree with your comments referencing our activities co-ordinator - he is fantastic - always coming up with new and interesting ideas and surprising us all with the scale and frequency of events and activities that he inspires in the home - noting that many are very much a team effort with the rest of the care team and indeed our residents getting very much involved in not just attending events and activities but in creating them in the first place. It's really lovely to read how well your dad was looked after, 'always safe, clean and well cared for'. It's lovely to read how the management team were supportive to your family. Thank you, in particular, for highlighting the amazing work of our care and nursing team at Chollacott House - their jobs are really very skilled and complex, balancing residents' care needs and best interests along with the need to promote choice and independence and the concerns and expectations of family members and friends etc. I know I've said this before, but never any harm in repeating, whenever I visit Chollacott House I leave really hoping that there are people like the manager and her team around when I need them!
