Dove Tree has shown kindness and good care towards my mother in law, the placement was initially temporary to ascertain her abilities and needs. Dove Tree are responsive, supportive, caring & kind. Sarah, the deputy manager is instrumental in supporting Mother's needs, her personality type, quirks and
understandable fears and devastation she felt at the realisation that she would not return home. Sarah regularly spends time calming down repeat upsets as Mother settles and is very hands on with any concerns. She has also been extremely supportive to us as a family and advised accurately on the minefield of Local Authority processes. In general all staff are very kind and attentive. The only minor comment we would make about improvements is senior staff / Management cover over the weekend. This is not to suggest that staff lack direction on weekends (far from it ) but it is not possible to receive management led responses or reassurances over the weekend.
Reply from Nathan Stone, Director. at Dove Tree HouseGood afternoon Jacqueline N. Thank you for taking the time to leave this detailed feedback of your experience - and that of your mother in law - at Dove Tree House in Exeter. It's lovely to read how Sarah takes time with your mother in law to help her to settle and how she has been supportive to you as a family. Noting observations about weekends. The Manager and Deputy Manager roles are very busy and carry a lot of responsibility - they do tend to work Monday to Friday and then have weekends to recuperate - with some weekends also covered to ensure that they have good visibility of Saturday and Sunday operations. That being said, as you say, our Senior Carers on duty at weekends are always very experienced and competent. The company operates an 'on call' cover rota at weekends so that care home teams have further senior support on hand if needed. Any non-emergency questions can be passed to our Managers or Deputy Managers so that can contact you on the Monday. Kindest regards, Nathan

My wife has only been a resident for a few months. From the start she has been made welcome and is comfortable and well cared for.
All the staff are pleasant, caring and display patience in spades.
The biggest compliment I can give comes from my wife who has dealt with the elderly for 40+ years
is very impressed with Dove Tree.

My mum lived at the Manor for 7 years. It was like a home from home for her. In her first few years there, she was able to go out for a walk or out with us as a family, and there were many activities and outings. She was very well looked after, her room was always clean and she said the food was excellent.
The staff were simply amazing, very kind, caring and compassionate, especially Rodney who helped my mum in her last few months.
Thank you to all at The Manor, I will miss seeing you all.

My Mum has been living at Bluebell House for nearly a year, after her Dementia worsened and my Dad could no longer cope taking care of her..even with our help. She is well looked after, and everyone is very kind. We have got to know everyone, and are always welcomed. I enjoy visiting, and I really enjoy
sitting and chatting with the friends we have made.
We were also surprised with a yummy birthday cake and gift for my Mum on her birthday, which was completely unexpected!
My Mums bedroom is cozy and clean, and my Mum is well taken care of.
My Dad is always welcomed too, he is elderly himself, and I know the staff keep an eye on him and make sure he has a cuppa and a piece of cake too, when he visits.
I would like to add too, that anyone new visiting a relative or friend, should chat to everyone, it really makes a difference to get to know the staff & residents, as they are lovely. I know it can be a sensitive time, when someone moves into a care home. Thank you again
Reply from Nathan Stone, Director. at Bluebell House Care HomeGood afternoon Sam. It's really lovely to read how well your mum (and dad) are taken care of by the care team and that you enjoy visiting and sitting and chatting with the friends that you have made. Your words paint a lovely picture of life in a care home - they are friendly and positive places where family and relationships can flourish - where residents and visitors do, indeed, have a fantastic opportunity to meet new people and have fun new experiences. Your words will, I have no doubt, be a great source of comfort to anybody just starting to find out about residential care home options. Thank you again and kindest regards, Nathan.

Our dad has been in Primrose House for a few years now. There were some problems with different managers and staff to begin with but the way it is run now is pretty darn good. Management always listen if we have a problem and the regular staff that know our dad well are patient with him and will have
a chat and a laugh with him.
Reply from Nathan Stone, Director. at Primrose HouseGood afternoon Teresa P. Thank you for this very kind 5 / 5 star review of your experience with our Care Team and Care Home at Primrose House in Westward Ho! North Devon. It's lovely to read that you feel the home is now 'pretty darn good' and, importantly, that your Dad has a laugh and chat with the care team. Kathy has been Registered Manager for a few years now - working her way up from Deputy Manager - but you're right - we did go through a period where we saw a quick turnover of managers. Whilst it's always frustrating to go through such periods we are always determined that we provide the necessary support to the home at the time to ensure standards are maintained and we keep on searching until we get the right managers (and care teams) in place. Thank you again for your kind words - they will mean a lot to the team at Primrose House (as they do me) Kindest regards, Nathan.

My father has been at Bluebell House for some time. The staff are very caring and empathetic to the situation with his dementia and on the whole very supportive. They do seem to understand dad's needs very well.
Although generally the home has a homely feel and doesn't feel clinical or over modern,
the rooms and bathrooms are a bit tired and need updating although not uncomfortable for dad. I also think the building is generally looking a bit tired and in need of a lick of paint and a bit of updating. The garden at the back is difficult to use despite the time spent on it and again is looking a bit scruffy at the moment which is a shame. The cost has risen by £1000 per month in the last 18 months and I think a bit more money should be spent on upkeep. I do feel that they could keep us more informed about what is happening with dad sometimes I am surprised when I find something out inadvertently that I think they should have at least made a call or messaged about.
Reply from Nathan Stone, Director. at Bluebell House Care HomeGood morning. Thank you for this feedback - its nice to read that the care team are very caring and supportive and understand your dads needs well. I note what you say about the building and rooms - but that's not to say I agree:) - Bluebell House is a home - we have an ongoing programme of maintenance and renewal and I'm always struck by how clean, tidy and fresh it is when I visit. With regards to the garden, we are just emerging from a very wet winter - most gardens and outside areas I see are still in the process of being tidied up and made ready for the summer - with Bluebell no different. Care fees have indeed risen in the past 18 months - across the industry and in line with (and probably a bit behind) inflation. With regards to information - please do let the Care Home Managers know how often you would like to be update and for what reasons. You are invited to attend bi-monthly resident meetings and take care in care plan reviews. Kindest regards, Nathan.

My wife is not the person I married over 60 years ago, prior to the last 2 and a half years she was the most caring and nice individual. I am right in saying that her manner has not been the same since from almost day one when she was upset because of the loss of dignity through being washed, etc.,
and the hoist was never to her liking, and because of this she has been bedbound for most of her time at the home. The staff are an excellent bunch, and they have done their utmost to make her stay ok. All I can say is that dementia is a horrible mind-changing illness.

I am a resident at Cross Park House and will be for quite a bit longer. I have been here for nearly 12 months. I did have a chance of moving but I like the staff and get looked after very well. The rooms are a bit small but are warm & cosy. Friends who come to see me always get offered a cuppa tea or
coffee. They say how nice & friendly the staff & management are.
Reply from Nathan Stone, Director. at Cross Park House Care HomeGood afternoon Pamela. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this review of your experience living at Cross Park. It's lovely to read that you are happy at Cross Park House and would not want to leave as you get looked after very well and like the staff. Yes, Cross Park is a converted domestic house so rooms are not built to modern size and shape but, as you say, they are more 'cosy' and homely as a result. It's lovely to read that your friends and family who visit are always well looked after and say how nice and friendly the staff and management are. I note the lower score for activities - whilst the team have been doing their best to compensate we have been without a dedicated activities coordinator for about 6 weeks now - we are actively recruiting and eager to see a full and engaging activities calendar re-established at Cross Park. Thank you again for your kind words, Nathan.
