Dad lived at Woodhayes for almost two years before his death earlier this year, before an incident that necessitated nursing care. Dad has been independent so it was difficult for him to accept the change in circumstances from the beginning and throughout his stay. Dad was happy there he enjoyed the
company, activities, garden and food. The staff kept me informed of all changes in dads care and were always available by phone as I lived 80 miles away. This was much appreciated. I felt confident Dad received excellent care. I would highly recommend Woodhayes Care Home.

Popped in to see my mother-in-law today. Greeted by staff at the door, a usual smile and warm welcome. 8 residents in the dining/lounge area, bright and cheerful conversation going on. All had enjoyed their lunch today and were looking forward to their fitness sessions.

Our dear Mum was nursed by the team at Woodhayes, where she lived until she passed away after suffering from leukaemia. She loved the beautiful gardens, very caring and well-trained staff, and the never-ending teapot. My sister and I could speak about every member of staff for their kindness, which

My mum was not happy to be going in a nursing home after hospital.
She says the staff are lovely, they are very helpful to residents and family. She loves the food and eating very well.
There is always a staff member to talk to and they are helpful to the family as well as my mother.

All of the staff at Woodhayes are very kind and caring. They are always aware of my mother's needs and how best to support and assist her and us, her family. Mum's room is comfortably warm and light with a lovely view overlooking the garden. We are all very happy with the home.

The staff at Woodhayes have been brilliant during the past 13 months my mum has been a resident. However their care during the last week when Mum was at the end of her life has been exceptional. Their support for myself and my siblings has been invaluable and we as a family shall be forever grateful.

Our dad was a bit reluctant to move to a care home but his health had deteriorated. This meant that he wasn’t the easiest person for the carers to deal with. This was difficult to begin with but once they got used to each other and they realised what he didn’t like it did become easier. The carers are
patient and kind, and the nursing staff were brilliant. When Dad was very poorly two staff members in particular were very caring to Dad and us.
The building is a bit tired but Dad had a nice large room with a lovely view.

My mother has recently moved to Woodhayes after previously being at another home for 14 years. She is 86 and it was an anxious time for her and the family.
It need not have been! The staff and managers at Woodhayes are lovely. Extremly friendly, kind, and welcoming and always seems happy. It's obvious
from every person working there that they are in a happy relaxed environment, where all work very hard! Mum from day one has settled in amazingly. Thank you.

My aunt was at Woodhayes for approximately six weeks receiving end of life care. I was very happy with the care she received. All the staff were excellent. I didn’t live locally and was visiting once a week and there was always a manager and a nurse I could speak to about my aunt. Her room was lovely
and homely and I felt that the staff took the time to get to know her. I was always alerted to changes in her health. The personal care was very good. My aunt liked the food and her room and got on with the staff. She always had good things to say about the staff when I visited. I felt my aunt was content at Woodhayes. I felt she spent her last weeks safe and cared for. I couldn’t be more happy with the care she received at a difficult time and I was very thankful that she spent her last weeks in such a caring environment.

My father has been a resident of Woodhayes since June. He was discharged from the hospital and wasn't expected to live long. It is now October and it's a testament to the excellent care he has received here. He tells us he is really looked after here. We find all the staff lovely and both caring of

My wife's stay was all too brief at Woodhayes but the end-of-life care she received helped my family and myself to feel less stressed at the very sad time. The staff and management created an outstanding atmosphere of friendliness and attentiveness.

On 12 April 2023, my aunt sadly passed away at Woodhayes Nursing Home. My mother and I spent the day by her side. The staff were very caring, discreet and comforting. We were able to come and go. I liaised with the manager, the nurse and the GP who visited on the day. The staff looked after us and made

I will be forever grateful to the wonderful staff at Woodhayes for the care they gave to my mum in the last months of her life. She had some complex needs but they managed to raise a smile from her everyday. She was treated with kindness and dignity throughout her time there. My only regret is that

My mum and I visit her sister who has dementia regularly. We come from Dorset. the home is very clean and tidy. the staff are welcoming and friendly, always recognise that mum is her sister. My aunt's room is immaculate and has been made her own, with lots of familiar items around her and family photos.
I am a retired general nurse and it is heartening to witness the high standard of care she receives. Well done to all at Woodhayes. Thank you.

I am a registered nurse with many years’ experience working in nursing homes. I became Deputy Manager at Brendoncare Woodhayes in September 2016 and then took on the role of Acting Home Manager in June 2018.


I really enjoy the family environment we have at Brendoncare Woodhayes, with the residents, relatives and the Woodhayes team of staff and volunteers.


In my spare time I enjoy reading, cross stitch and jigsaws.
