All the team at Woodhayes showed great kindness and consideration caring for our Mum. She was only with them for a short while before her passing and they were all very friendly and helpful during that time. Mum always remarked on how nice everyone was. It was a relief for us to know that she was receiving the best care during her final weeks. Thank you.

Dad lived at Woodhayes for almost two years before his death earlier this year, before an incident that necessitated nursing care. Dad has been independent so it was difficult for him to accept the change in circumstances from the beginning and throughout his stay. Dad was happy there he enjoyed the company, activities, garden and food. The staff kept me informed of all changes in dads care and were always available by phone as I lived 80 miles away. This was much appreciated. I felt confident Dad received excellent care. I would highly recommend Woodhayes Care Home.

Our dear Mum was nursed by the team at Woodhayes, where she lived until she passed away after suffering from leukaemia. She loved the beautiful gardens, very caring and well-trained staff, and the never-ending teapot. My sister and I could speak about every member of staff for their kindness, which was given to mum and to us want to thank them all and we fully recommend Woodhayes to everybody! Thank you!

My mum was not happy to be going in a nursing home after hospital.
She says the staff are lovely, they are very helpful to residents and family. She loves the food and eating very well.

There is always a staff member to talk to and they are helpful to the family as well as my mother.

I don't care too much about the fabric of the building of a care home, but much more about the care given, the quality of the staff and the resources available to assist in that care. Woodhayes is excellent for these more important aspects.

Reply from Nathan Stone, Director. at Woodhayes

Good afternoon RF. I have to say, I get where you are coming from. The real quality of a care home is with the team of people working in it. That being said we do, of course, spend a lot of time (and money) on continually maintaining and updating all of our care home buildings and facilities....

Our dad was a bit reluctant to move to a care home but his health had deteriorated. This meant that he wasn’t the easiest person for the carers to deal with. This was difficult to begin with but once they got used to each other and they realised what he didn’t like it did become easier. The carers are patient and kind, and the nursing staff were brilliant. When Dad was very poorly two staff members in particular were very caring to Dad and us.

The building is a bit tired but Dad had a nice large room with a lovely view.

My mother has recently moved to Woodhayes after previously being at another home for 14 years. She is 86 and it was an anxious time for her and the family.

It need not have been! The staff and managers at Woodhayes are lovely. Extremly friendly, kind, and welcoming and always seems happy. It's obvious from every person working there that they are in a happy relaxed environment, where all work very hard! Mum from day one has settled in amazingly. Thank you.

My aunt was at Woodhayes for approximately six weeks receiving end of life care. I was very happy with the care she received. All the staff were excellent. I didn’t live locally and was visiting once a week and there was always a manager and a nurse I could speak to about my aunt. Her room was lovely and homely and I felt that the staff took the time to get to know her. I was always alerted to changes in her health. The personal care was very good. My aunt liked the food and her room and got on with the staff. She always had good things to say about the staff when I visited. I felt my aunt was content at Woodhayes. I felt she spent her last weeks safe and cared for. I couldn’t be more happy with the care she received at a difficult time and I was very thankful that she spent her last weeks in such a caring environment.

My wife's stay was all too brief at Woodhayes but the end-of-life care she received helped my family and myself to feel less stressed at the very sad time. The staff and management created an outstanding atmosphere of friendliness and attentiveness.

On 12 April 2023, my aunt sadly passed away at Woodhayes Nursing Home. My mother and I spent the day by her side. The staff were very caring, discreet and comforting. We were able to come and go. I liaised with the manager, the nurse and the GP who visited on the day. The staff looked after us and made several cups of tea, which my mum really appreciated. I am very grateful to the staff for being kind, caring and compassionate toward us.
