It's really lovely to read that our Manager and Nursing Team were excellent and that your wife was cared for as you would expect. I note the slightly lower scores for rooms, facilities and cleanliness. With regards to rooms and facilities, this may be owing to the fact that Woodhayes is a joining of three (rather grand) terrace houses in the St. Leanards area of Exeter. Whilst not a new build with a cinema room etc it is a lovely, homely and characterful building where we seek to, as far as is possible, create a home-from-home atmosphere. The score of 3 for cleaning - that's not good enough - my apologies for that - I will be discussing this with the Registered Manager. Again, thank you for this feedback, kindest regards, Nathan.

Dad has been independent so it was difficult for him to accept the change in circumstances from the beginning and throughout his stay. Dad was happy there he enjoyed the company, activities, garden and food. The staff kept me informed of all changes in dads care and were always available by phone as I lived 80 miles away. This was much appreciated. I felt confident Dad received excellent care. I would highly recommend Woodhayes Care Home.

I am surprised to read this, I know we are only recruiting for a Activities Coordinator at the moment, all others roles being filled - and that we have good working relationships with three staffing agencies who can almost always provide us short term cover should we have unplanned sickness / absence amongst the team. There should be hardly any occasions where we are running short staffed. Please do speak to the Care Home Manager if you have any concerns at any time. Kindest regards.

I think we can all empathise greatly with how you mum was feeling when it became clear that she would have to go to a nursing home following her stay in hospital. She probably just wanted to get home and 'back to normal' - we see this a lot (of course). But we also see a lot exactly your mums experience having arrived at the nursing home - lovely staff, well cared for, food, daily chores all taken care of etc. And, most importantly, always somebody on hand to help or just have a chat with. We hear what you say about the building - we purchased Woodhayes towards the end of Covid and lockdowns so have not been able to get as much done as we would have liked, we've focussed heavily upon regulatory work with regards to the building (fire regs etc) and outside painting and repairs. I didn’t live locally and was visiting once a week and there was always a manager and a nurse I could speak to about my aunt. Her room was lovely and homely and I felt that the staff took the time to get to know her. I was always alerted to changes in her health. The personal care was very good. My aunt liked the food and her room and got on with the staff. She always had good things to say about the staff when I visited. I felt my aunt was content at Woodhayes. I felt she spent her last weeks safe and cared for. I couldn’t be more happy with the care she received at a difficult time and I was very thankful that she spent her last weeks in such a caring environment.
