I will be forever grateful to the wonderful staff at Woodhayes for the care they gave to my mum in the last months of her life. She had some complex needs but they managed to raise a smile from her everyday. She was treated with kindness and dignity throughout her time there. My only regret is that we didn't move her to this excellent home sooner.

My mum and I visit her sister who has dementia regularly. We come from Dorset. the home is very clean and tidy. the staff are welcoming and friendly, always recognise that mum is her sister. My aunt's room is immaculate and has been made her own, with lots of familiar items around her and family photos. I am a retired general nurse and it is heartening to witness the high standard of care she receives. Well done to all at Woodhayes. Thank you.

I want to express our thanks to Woodhayes for the care of my father for a few weeks before he passed away. Finding a nursing home for a relative is difficult and we found the staff really friendly and helpful. We were impressed with his care and the support for the relatives. We also received help with the attendance allowance application, which was really illuminating as to the extensive skills and tasks required to provide 24/7 nursing care, in a dignified and safe manner.

Although my mother has only been a resident at Woodhayes for a few weeks, I am very impressed with the care and attention that she receives. The staff and management team are a vast improvement compared to the previous care home that we moved her from. The care staff are very friendly and helpful and my mum is so much happier. There is always someone available when needed. My thanks are nowhere near enough to the caring staff that look after Mum.

Our aunt was moved here from the hospital following a fall. We were very anxious about the move as she is a very independent lady and had previously stated she did not want to go home. Two weeks into her stay at Woodhayes, she is loving it! She actively participates in all aspects of home life, from hairdressing to singing sessions, she is in her element. Woodhayes has offered her the social and safety elements she needs at this time of life and we are hugely grateful to all the staff for the easy transition. Highly recommend.

As a family, we're so thankful that we chose this lovely home for our parents in 2018. It’s warm, welcoming and clean. Care plans are carefully monitored and each person’s preferences are respected. There are many activities on offer, nutritious and tasty meals and a beautiful garden. The team responded to Covid-19 with a level of dedication that was truly inspiring. There were no Covid cases among residents while our parents lived there. Staff not only kept them safe, they kept families connected and allowed safe visiting as soon as it was possible. The first lockdown began very soon after Dad’s funeral and we were so touched when we learned of the extra care shown to Mum. Staff kept her company, knowing how much she was missing Dad and the visits from her children. Both our parents died in Woodhayes, peacefully and pain-free, cared for by people whom they had come to trust and love and with a tenderness, for which their children will always be grateful.

My 92-year-old mum was placed at Woodhayes, directly from spending eight weeks at hospital. It was a huge change for her, but the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming to both her and the family. One of us visited every day and the staff were without exception, wonderful to Mum and us.

Sadly Mum’s problems accelerated and she became extremely poorly. We were asked whether we wanted her to go back to hospital or be looked after at the home. We chose the latter and I sat with my mum for over 17 hours before she passed. I cannot express how kind, considerate, caring and empathetic the whole staff team were to Mum and to me. They reassured me they were there for the both of us and I truly couldn’t have asked for more. They went far and beyond what I would have expected and cannot express how this eased what was a difficult time. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a special place to spend their later years.

My mother moved into Woodhayes with my father over two years ago. Staff were very supportive at the time of Dad's death and the quality of Mum's care has continued to be consistently good. I love arriving to visit her: the door may be opened by any member of staff, most of whom I know by name and who relate well to Mum as an individual. There is a friendly, homely atmosphere. Mum likes the privacy of her own room but is glad to join others for lunch in the dining room each day and mostly finds the food very good. A wonderful birthday tea was put on for Mum's 90th birthday. Nursing and care staff are quick to notice and respond if Mum isn't feeling herself and liaise well with family. Mum has enjoyed some excellent entertainments, going out for coffee with a member of staff and sitting in the lovely garden. The high quality of care and good staff morale are a reflection of the excellent management of this home. Thoroughly recommended!

My dear mother lived in this wonderful nursing home for the last eighteen months of her life. As a family, we are all so grateful for the care, kindness and compassion shown towards her in her final years. This is a truly happy home with elderly people being looked after in a gentle, professional and profoundly caring manner. The staff were without exception so very kind towards our dear Mum and as visitors, we were always made to feel very welcome. The knowledge that she was being cared for with dignity and compassion by people so obviously dedicated and happy in their work was wonderfully reassuring. The home provides very many activities for residents to enjoy if they wish to, sadly my mother was not able to join in with many of these but we saw the staff and residents happily enjoying each other’s company in the lounge area. Woodhayes has a real warm family feeling about it and is managed exceptionally well with care being individually tailored to each resident’s needs.

When visiting my mother at Woodhayes, which can be at any time of day, I know I will get a friendly welcome. There is a warm, homely atmosphere, and all the staff are kind and caring but also professional and efficient.
The old Victorian Houses have been well converted, with residents’ individual rooms looking out onto gardens. My mother has some of her own furniture, pictures and ornaments which make her feel at home.
Mum likes being taken out into the garden when the weather is good, and she enjoys some of the organised activities and entertainments. She is free to choose when she would like to join other residents in the dining room and lounge, and when she would like some quiet privacy in her own room.
The level of care and nursing is individual, to meet the needs of each resident. As well as the attentive carers, there is always a qualified nurse on duty.

Woodhayes is well run, and the manager is very ‘hands-on’ and easy to talk to. I would recommend Woodhayes without hesitation.

My mother has been living at Woodhayes for over two years. She is well settled and really part of the Woodhayes family. She likes the staff who are, without exception, friendly, helpful and positive and know her likes and dislikes. She enjoys the home cooked food and is especially pleased not to have to plan and cook meals anymore! For my mother’s birthday, one of the chefs made the most delicious chocolate birthday cake I have ever tasted.
Recently my mother proudly showed me a plant pot she had painted with one of the specialist activity staff. She is going to plant nasturtium seeds in it. Having spent much of her life painting and gardening, she was thrilled she could still do a little of each.

Woodhayes has a very caring ethos and is well managed. Relatives meetings and residents meetings (which relatives may attend) give opportunities for any matters to be raised. However, the manager’s door is always open and difficulties are dealt with immediately. I highly recommend this home.

I totally recommend Woodhayes. My wife has been a resident for twelve months. Unfortunately, she is unable to communicate, I therefore receive no direct feedback. However, I do witness the care and kind consideration with which the staff treat each resident. The home is warm and well kept. The meals are varied and appetising.

My 98 year old mum spent the last week of her life surrounded by the comfort, care and compassion provided by the staff of this wonderful home. Nothing was too much trouble and she was nursed with respect and love.
As a proud, dignified lady who had always wanted to remain in her own home, she was peaceful and content here and I will be forever grateful. The slightly tired decor as you enter belies the second to none level of care. Do not be fooled - it is spotlessly clean, has all the necessary equipment and is efficiently run. An old Victorian house, it has the feeling of a real home and not a hospital.

Patient care and comfort are prioritised by the friendly, caring and professional staff, who recognise that this is usually the residents’ last home and that they should be treated with appropriate dignity. Thank you so much to all the lovely staff at Woodhayes.

This smaller nursing home stood out from others when I visited with my sister. The care is personal and individual. The staff get to know the residents closely. There is flexibility so that residents can be cared for as they would wish, without being regimented. Initially both parents and now one parent have received excellent care and us, the relatives, have found the staff attentive and always ready to review a situation. Residents are encouraged to furnish their rooms with personal items that make them feel at home. The building has a lot of character. The home is well managed and run. Highly recommended.
