Good afternoon CR. Thank you for your feedback. You've raised some concerns. We constantly review staffing numbers to ensure that they are correct to meet the needs of the residents in our care and are happy that those are Kent House do. We have a staffing ratio, rather than 1 to 1 - so on occasions some residents may have to wait whilst others needs are being taken care of. Our food offering at Kent House is fantastic, we use an external supplier who provide an extensive menu of delicious meals which are targeted in terms of ingredients to the bespoke needs of residents in care homes. Feedback is overwhelmingly positive and a significant improvement over the previous provision. Indeed, I understand that you and your husband joined Kent House for Christmas Lunch and loved the food. Please do take the opportunity to try some more of the meals. I'll ask the Care Home Manager to talk to your Mum and see if we can find some meals she likes. Kindest regards, Nathan.

They engage in their duties with warmth, compassion and always a smile. Since Mother has become a resident at Kent House I feel it was the best decision for her. She has received excellent care, made new friends and appears happy and always in good spirits. The staff are kind and friendly and are so positive in dealing with mothers dementia.

Looking at the scores in each section I note a few 3 stars (we like 5 and certainly would never want less than 4) so - your concerns with cleanliness, facilities, activities and food - please do speak to our Care Home Manager about those so that we can address them. If it helps I read the minutes of the most recent residents meeting just a few weeks ago and all feedback reference food and activities was very good. There was a mention about bins not being emptied in residents rooms every day - and this has been addressed. I, of course, do not know to which resident you refer but, whilst it is of course their choice how to spend their time, it's a shame they do not take part in the activities - these don't have to be group activities but can also be one to one. Please do have a chat with the care home manager if this is of concern and we can look at different approaches to perhaps encourage this person to take part in some way. My mother came to Kent House because she was no longer safe in her flat because she kept falling and was then unable to walk. Her eyesight, due to wet macular, was also failing. The staff were very good at informing my mother what was happening and helping her. The manager kept me up to date as to my mother's progress or any issues that arose and was very helpful in arranging any visits from family where more space was needed eg: 92nd Birthday. My mother has settled well, I visit twice a week and the staff are friendly and polite. My mother always looks well cared for.
