I am sorry to hear that you feel we did not support your father appropriately in his choices. Please do contact me so that I can provide information on how, together with the hospital discharge team and our Domiciliary Care Manager, we have supported your father in understanding the various options available to him at the time of his hospital discharge and how your father came to make the decision to move to our care home for a respite stay. We are sure this will provide you with reassurance that ethical and supportive steps were followed. My friend (who was among the first residents at The Village) has died, but I know she was content and comfortable, and I know the Staff (on the whole) were kind, and supportive. I also know that the Care Team welcomed constructive discussion about the ongoing care of the Residents. I wish everyone continued success.
Thank you so much for your kind review. We have always welcomed your feedback and support and these have helped us develop the services we are offering to both your friend specifically and our residents in general. Your friend will be missed, she was such a character, and I will fondly remember her and my joint passion for musicals!

Here at Aston on Trent, we are keen to build trusting and respectful relationships with our residents through delivering friendly, responsible and well-led services by an exceptional team of people.
I look forward to welcoming you to our village where our fantastic hospitality and care services are provided in a stunning environment, creating a vibrant community in which residents live longer, healthier and happier lives.
I want the care home at Richmond Villages Aston-on-Trent to be the most resident centred care home where the wellbeing of our residents is priority, and they thrive along with the staff who look after them. I have been in the health industry since 2011 when I graduated as a nurse, doing various roles over the years across hospitals and care homes. I love to create a positive workplace for our staff who impact the resident care we provide.
I have worked at Richmond for nearly 7 years, I joined Richmond as a domiciliary care assistant and then moved to a senior domiciliary care assistant before taking on the domiciliary care manager role nearly 3 years ago. Before joining Richmond I worked as a domiciliary carer in the local community for 7 years.
I enjoy working at Richmond as you get to build strong relationships with the people you look after and you get to them before needing care as you see them around the village. This really helps as you ae able to notice when people start to decline and are able to support them to make a person centred care plan around their needs and wishes.
I manage a team of carers that provide care to people that live in independent and assisted living apartments. The care calls are booked in advance at their time preference and for how long they wish the care call to be. We can support people with personal care, dressing, medication administrating, cleaning, support to activities and to the restaurant. We are also able to offer companionship calls, shopping calls and assistance to doctors and hospital appointments etc
Before I worked in adult care I worked in child care where I started as a nursery nurse and worked my way up to be a manager of a 120 placed nursery.
I have always enjoyed caring for people and helping them get the best out of their lives.
I have been working for Richmond Villages for 5 years. I take great satisfaction in ensuring that our customer's needs are met and they get the right care and support required.
Before working at Richmond Villages, I gained extensive sales and customer service experience in management and director-level roles in real estate.
I look forward to being able to help our customers take the next step in their move into our retirement village.
I have worked for Richmond Villages for nearly 2 years with previous experience being within both management and valuing roles in both corporate and independent residential estate agency companies across the east midlands. There is a great sense of achievement when a new family move into our village, as it becomes very apparent that they will be able to start their later life in an environment that is aimed at enjoyment and a healthier lifestyle. To be a part of that is priceless.
With over 27 years of experience as a chef, I have had the privilege of working in diverse catering environments, ranging from café-style dining to à la carte cuisine. My journey in the culinary world began in the hotel and restaurant sector, where I honed my skills for many years. A decade ago, I ventured into the care sector and discovered a new passion. I started as a part-time chef in a care home, where I developed a keen interest in the science of nutrition and the importance of providing high-quality meals tailored to individual dietary needs. Collaborating closely with speech and language therapists, as well as dietitians from the NHS, I became well-versed in this critical aspect of care. Over the years, I worked my way up to the position of Development Chef for a major care company. I am now excited to embark on this new journey with Richmond Villages.
Prior to joining Richmond Village in September 2021, I worked as a Project Manager in the automotive industry. I initially joined Richmond Villages as an Activities Co-Ordinator, before moving into the Head of Activities role in March 2023. I love supporting the Activities Team in planning and delivering a wide and varied programme of activities and events for all our residents at Richmond Villages. I am lucky to live in Aston-on-Trent and have close links and good relationships within the wider community through my work with local schools, businesses, groups and charities, which greatly benefit our residents.
