Bupa Witney Care Home

My mother-in-law spent more than a year on the Care floor. She was very well looked-after by the team there. They were patient with her and accommodating as much as possible. This goes for everyone there, from those at the front desk, her carers and nurses and visiting GPs. After a more difficult period with her health issues, we received the news that she had passed away and again, everyone could not have been more caring and supportive. She was never on her own in those final few days, during the hours that we were away. Everybody was very respectful and saddened themselves. The home overall is a lovely place, both staff, residents and the overall atmosphere.

Excellent care for my dad. It's good to know he's being cared for, so i don't have to worry. I don't think he's eaten so well! He has a lovely room with a great outlook. Watching the world go by from his window. Friendly staff. Nothing is too much trouble. I would highly recommend.

My mother spent 3 weeks at Richmond Village Witney on the care floor for a respite after a spell in hospital.

The team made her feel so welcome and provided her with excellent care, particularly as I was only there at the beginning of her stay as I live overseas.

All staff (nurses, carers, managers, activity team, spa team, restaurant staff, housekeeping and any one else I have forgotten to list) were absolutely amazing in their support of both my Father and our family in the last week of his life. We could not ask for a better experience, from the day we arrived they were understanding, considerate, empathetic and probably most importantly true advocates for what Dad needed. Its difficult to navigate palliative care and they helped us every step of the way with compassion and personal support.

I cannot thank the amazing staff enough for their care of my grandad Don, not just this month but every single day since he arrived before Christmas 2026. It's so re-assuring to know he is in extremely safe hands. Not only do they look after him they look after us too. Unfortunately my grandad is nearing the end of his life and the support and care to him and us has been beautiful. There are so many special people he loves here as do we and they know who they are. We don't have to worry about the care he receives. If you or a family member are looking for a care home I would highly recommend this one. Thank you all on Willow!

My mum was a resident in the care home after having many falls in her independent living apartment on the same site. I had to make the decision to put her in the home. I was worried about doing this but in retrospect shouldn't have been. The nursing staff and the carers, in fact the whole team from the top down were superb. I had help and reassurance from everyone. In many ways it felt like a family and when mum sadly passed away, on top of her loss, I felt a sense of loss for all the wonderful people there.

My mum came to Richmond Village initially in an assisted living apartment, in October 2024. All the staff were very friendly and the domiciliary staff were very helpful which helped mum settle in. Unfortunately mum deteriorated quite quickly she had to go to the care floor, in December 2024, but mum again, settled in well and all the staff and carers were very friendly and helpful. I am fully informed about how mum is by email or a phone call if something unexpected happens. The activities team work hard to engage the residents in activities, be it singing, painting, throwing balls or gardening. Mum is very happy here and her friends who visit occasionally have remarked what a nice care home it is, and that it feels more like a hotel. I can visit at any time which fits in with my work and we often go downstairs or outside, weather permitting, for a coffee and a chat. The opportunity for mum to have her nails painted and hair coloured and cut is a nice treat.

All staff been very friendly and helpful with advice that has been very helpful. Only found shower water pressure too strong but am 85. Nice meadowland walk to use, could even use for a holiday.

Mum has been on the care floor at Witney since January 2024; she had moved into the village as an independent lady in 2015 during the building phase and then to assisted living 8 years later. Throughout her journey at Richmond Village Witney she has experienced nothing but genuine care and help. All the staff have been exemplary from the team helping to buy and sell her various properties, the dom care team on assisted living and all the care staff on Mulberry. They take everything in their stride, are calm and caring. I am fully informed of how Mum is by email and calls if necessary. Everyone is friendly and approachable, the girls who come into clean always have a chat too. I can visit at any time which fits in with my schedule too.

My final praise must go to the hospitality staff who brightened up each day.

I am blessed to have been nearly a year on the care floor at Richmond Villages Witney. I have been happy and cared for and even loved. These many women and men do something truly honourable: they clean up, they laugh, they bandage, they administer care and hope and wisdom. They work wonderfully as a team - the carers, nurses, hostesses, activities team and management. They do all this for me and every resident here - giving meaning to the term "patient-centred care". They wipe our tears, hold our hand, and 12 hours a day and 12 hours a night, they remind us there is life and joy still to be had. I thank them all, truly, and recommend the care floor with all my heart.

Overall general care very good.

My 99yr old mother in law moved to Richmond Village for an initial 3 week respite stay after a couple of falls. We extended this weekly for a while and eventually decided to make the move permanent. This was because we realised that the fantastic care package offered and tailored to individual needs was exactly what she needed and beyond what we could find elsewhere. She had a room overlooking the croquet lawn. Staff really are very discrete and hard working. The senior nursing staff helped with a health care application. There is a regular programme provided by the Activities team who encourage residents to join in but there is no pressure to participate. She was very particular about her food but found very little which wasn't to her taste. The restaurant staff were always friendly. Visiting family often commented it was like an hotel. Moving to Richmond was absolutely the right thing and I think it's fair to say that residents and staff get to know each other as individuals.

I cannot fault the overall care and support that the team gave my mum. We, as a family, are so grateful.

Having started his journey with Richmond Village in Witney in an independent living flat nearly ten years ago my father is now permanently on the Care Floor. Here he has a lovely light room overlooking the gardens and is close to the shared living/dining area which means there are always staff and other residents passing by. He moved to the Care Floor when his mobility started deteriorating and he needed medical care, as a family this gave us great peace of mind, we knew he was being looked after. The nursing and care staff are absolutely amazing, always cheerful and ready to chat whilst doing their duties. Dad is still very much involved with the activities provided by a very enthusiastic team downstairs in the hub of the village where he is able to interact with residents living in other areas of Richmond. All the staff from the maintenance team, the cleaners, the hospitality team, the lovely receptionists, carers and nurses are just wonderful, so kind and always smiling.

Nuala and I have four kids ages 10-12. So it was a huge leap for us booking into RV. But the kids visit often (and are made very welcome) and it's been easy for Nuala to make trips home as often as she wants. Nuala isn't a typical resident, but she's been made to feel really welcome and really included. Her stay here hasn't felt like a response to a crisis situation. It's been more like a period of rest and healing that she really needed. It's been a source of reassurance to me to know that my beautiful wife is being so well cared for. So thank you: the experience has been a joy.

Have been thoroughly impressed with the care given to my mother. All of the staff seem very friendly, caring and skilled and the accommodation and food are really good. Like a lot of people I guess my mother wasn't keen on "losing her independence" but she has been very happy with the care and service she has received.

I am very happy here in this home. The food is good, and the staff are kind and helpful. I feel I am looked after very well.

Room is comfortable, but could be a bit larger (some are) but I have an amazing view from my room.
