I am very pleased with the care and support that my mother receives and knowing that she is in a safe environment. Her walking and general health has improved since she came to stay. She enjoys participating in the activities that take place. The nursing staff are excellent and very approachable. Overall,
we are very pleased with the nursing home.

Dad came here in August 2022 and settled well. Staff are caring and Dad seems happy. As a family, we had a few questions but the staff try to answer them and sort out queries. COVID restrictions have altered the flexibility when visiting which, unfortunately, is not making it such a good experience.

Our mum became a permanent resident just before Christmas 2020. The staff at Rose Garden Nursing Home cared for her really well and she was beginning to settle but unfortunately had a hospital stay then got discharged back to the care home where she then passed away middle of February. Her end of life
care was excellent and we were allowed to visit her. We took it in turns to stay with her 24 hours a day until she passed away. We will be forever grateful to the care home for allowing us to do this as we had not seen her since November 2020. Thank you.

My dad was only in Olive Tree for 7 weeks. He settled very quickly. The staff were so kind and compassionate to both him and mym. Sadly he passed away and received excellent end of life care. In that very short period of time dad firmed and excellent relationship with the staff. They really cared about
him and when he passed the staff could not have been more thoughtful and compassionate. Olive Tree is a fabulous place but it is the staff and management that make it.

As the new Manager for Rose Garden Nursing Home and Olive Tree House in Bristol, Vlad brings a wealth of experience and dedication to caring for the elderly. With a background as a nurse and extensive experience in management, his knowledgeable approach and expertise are invaluable, both to residents and his colleagues. Vlad is highly focused on meeting residents’ needs and supporting them fully to ensure the best possible outcomes and the highest quality of life. With a commitment to fostering a positive and joyful environment, he is also known for his sense of humour and his ability to make everyone laugh with his jokes!


Vlad’s vision as a manager is to create a nurturing and supportive atmosphere where residents feel valued, safe, and happy, while continuously reviewing and improving the quality of care provided.

Leonie

Leonie Raven

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Joined: 2024

With a nursing career spanning 44 years Rose Garden are fortunate to have such an experienced Deputy Manager with Leonie. Leonie began her career in Australia as a hospital trained nurse, then going onto university and completing a Bachelor of Nursing when the nursing degree was introduced in the 1990s.


Leonie has worked in elderly care since the early 2000s initially as a clinical nurse and then moving onto management roles. When Leonie moved to the UK in 2022 she wanted to continue working with older people and is greatly enjoying working in the care sector here in the UK. Leonie started as the Clinical Manager for both Olive Tree House and Rose Garden before progressing to Deputy Manager of Rose Garden.


Leonie’s move to the UK was to be with her two daughters and five grandchildren and she is loving spending time with her family and being here to watch her grandchildren grow up.

Paul

Paul Thomas

Job Title: Regional Manager - Western Region

Joined: 2025

Paul has joined Allegra Care with 27 years’ experience in the health and social care sector, including working in senior leadership roles for the last 18 years, covering operations, business management and quality assurance. Paul has a real passion for person-centred care and how that is delivered at the highest level.


Paul has worked across a diverse sector over his time in health and social care and brings a wealth of experience to his new role as Regional Manager. Paul believes in integrating real and meaningful values and culture into a service and in doing so, delivering the outcomes for the people we support. Paul goes by the theory of values with no meaning, which has no value.


Outside of work, Paul is the father of three boys and a 2nd degree black belt who teaches Judo.

Catherine

Catherine Crawshaw

Job Title: Regional Resident Liaison Manager – Western Region

Joined: 2024

Catherine has worked in sales and marketing her whole career, after graduating with a degree in Textile Management she worked in Corporate Workwear for many years. Catherine’s first role in the care sector was working with a disability charity that ran nursing homes and enablement projects for young adults. While her two children were younger, she joined her husband in his estate agency, but was delighted to return to the care sector in 2020 and now cannot imagine doing anything else.


Catherine’s role with Allegra is to support residents and their families as they explore care options. Working with the teams in the individual homes she ensures that during every stage from initial enquiry through to moving in with us every question is answered, and we offer the reassurance needed for the next chapter in our resident’s life. It is important for our residents to remain part of the community in which will have lived for years, often all their lives, so the other part of this role is connecting with local community groups, charities and organisations.


Catherine has said that working for Allegra with their groundbreaking household model means we are offering a home with compassion and care whilst ensuring residents are retaining their independence and quality of life.


Out of work, Catherine enjoys baking, gardening and walking the family Labrador. The children are older now, but still keep her busy!
