Mum stayed at Trecelyn-Court Care Home for the last year. She was suffering with Alzheimer's and passed away in March.
The care she received from all the staff was outstanding.
She enjoyed the activities every day, especially the gardening.
The care and compassion also extended to supporting us,
as a family, throughout Mum's illness.
I would highly recommend Trecelyn-Court Court.

The care given to my mum was superb. Every member of staff is wonderful, very loving and treated my mum as a family member, it was humbling to experience the care they provided. The staff involved us as a family at all times and welcomed us when we visited my mum and the home is a very special place.

Sadly when my wife was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia and the issues that unfortunately follow. My daughters and I were rather distraught. The Social Worker suggested she initially go into Trecelyn-Court
for respite care. After visiting, and the home answering all my questions and concerns for her
welfare, she went in on 2/1/23. Just after 2 weeks we could see the care, support and respect she was afforded and knew it was the place for her.
All Staff, Management, Activities, Cleaning, along with kitchen staff and maintenance personnel are all so, so friendly and helpful whilst being professional and respectful at the same time.
I know now and have no doubts that I have done the right thing by placing my wife in Trecelyn-Court. I have no doubts about recommending the home to anyone, I was reassured from the minute I put my foot through the door.
I wish to record my sincere gratitude to everyone at the home for looking after and caring for my wife and keeping her stimulated and safe.

My mother has been a resident for almost a year now since she's been in there she has settled well and made lots of friends. The staff are always on hand to discuss any concerns that I may have and if they have any concerns they get in touch straight away. It is an enormous relief to know that Mam is
safe and well cared for 24/7. There are activities every day for Mam to join in if she wants or she can just watch the others. The food always smells delicious when I visit and looks the same when I see it on the Facebook page. We are always kept up to date on the Facebook page which gives me a great deal of comfort to see that Mam is enjoying herself on the days I cannot see her. I would recommend Trecelyn-Court to anyone.
Reply from Mohammad Ali, Owner at Trecelyn-CourtIt's wonderful to hear that your mother has settled well and made lots of friends during her almost year-long stay at Trecelyn-Court. The fact that the staff are always available to discuss any concerns you may have and promptly reach out to you if they have any concerns themselves demonstrates their attentiveness and commitment to ensuring your mother's well-being.
Knowing that your mother is safe and well cared for 24/7 is undoubtedly a significant relief for you. The availability of daily activities for her to participate in, with the option to simply observe if she prefers, shows that Trecelyn-Court prioritizes engaging and enriching experiences for their residents.
The fact that the food smells delicious and looks appetizing on the Facebook page is a testament to the attention to detail and quality of care provided. Additionally, the regular updates on the Facebook page give you a sense of comfort and reassurance, even on days when you cannot personally visit your mother.

My mother had early signs of dementia and had to have full-time care. The care home was very helpful showing us around and explaining everything that was catered for. From the time of visiting, to my mother's arrival, there was about a week. She was well looked after and all the staff were very helpful
and treated my mother as if she was their mother. Nothing was too much trouble for them if they called the doctor they notified me straight away and kept me informed all the time. When I visited all the staff remember who you are and made you welcome, nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend this care home to anybody as it is very clean, tidy and has a nice atmosphere.

My mother went to Trecelyn Court for a period of respite. Myself and my family were extremely apprehensive as to how she would settle in a residential setting, however, I feel that it has been a positive experience for everybody. She settled in very quickly and we were all very happy with the care that
she received. Trecelyn Court provided a warm and caring environment and she was made very welcome from the first day. The staff are very approachable and can be flexible with visiting especially when it has to be around work commitments. Thank you.

Try-Celyn really seems to be a home from home. Each time I visit mum staff are friendly and helpful and are always attentive to the residents. They are treated like family. The living and dining room are comfortable and light with enough space. There are always some activities on offer, balloon tennis,
skittles, that it almost has the feel of a hotel. The bedrooms are comfortable and spacious and it is all kept spotless. It really does give you peace of mind knowing that Mum is well cared for. Thank you all.

I have pleasure in writing my review of Try-Celyn Court where my mother has been living since March this year. The standard of the home as a whole is extremely high, welcoming, clean, homely, the staff are well presented very experienced in their branch of care, they make my mam feel happy, safe and
belonging just like a member of the family. The food is all home cooked, very tasty and well presented and plenty of it, even personal preferences of the residents are catered for readily with no problem. Activities indoors and out are provided well with plenty every day to keep residents happy and active mentally and physically. We as a family are always made very welcome whether we are expected or not with tea, coffee etc offered. We are very well kept informed about mam constantly day and night as required which means we can relax and trust everything is being done for mam as and when needed alongside all the routine checks and care are carried out. I personally would recommend Try-Celyn Court.

For the last three months, my step mum has received wonderful care. I had an opportunity to talk to several residents there and all seem to be very comfortable and happy in the home. I personally have found the staff and management fantastic, friendly and professional. I feel the atmosphere is more
like a hotel with room service for whatever needs you require which is a big plus. The bathroom on suite, Tv and Wi-Fi are a huge plus.

My Nan came to live here in Feb 2022 as a Dementia sufferer. The care staff in the home have been amazing with her and treat her like a family member. She seems to have really settled in and has made friends with the other residents.
Staff have always taken our family's opinions and perspectives into
consideration regarding nans care and have given the resident's family's the opportunity to come and share their thoughts at a resident's meeting at the home. Regular family days are put on allowing families to celebrate with their loved ones, the most recent being a fabulous afternoon BBQ. Nan is always telling us about the activities the staff put on, on a daily basis and the staff update a Facebook group for the resident's families regularly, so we can see what they get up to. We were worried that Nan may not settle, after living in her home for 60+ years but we are really pleased that she has. Thank you TreCelyn.

Sadly on the 1st of February, we lost our lovely mum. Up until this time, we thought mum was loved and cared for by the home. Sadly we have found this not to be true. We have received more than one phone call from a carer on behalf of the manager to get mum's personal things. Also again today the same
phone call and actually my son was already in their car park at the time of the phone call. We as a family feel our mother and ourselves have been shown absolutely no respect at all. All the manager seems to want is mum's things gone which we would have done after we had buried our beloved mother. They have an empty building where they could have put mum's things and given us the dignity time and respect to bury her first. Sadly this time wasn’t given any respect shown whatsoever. After all, we only got mums body back from the coroners yesterday so have had no time to even start to grieve properly.

My Mum recently spent a 3 week period of respite care at Try-Celyn-Court. Prior to her admission, the manager, visited us to discuss Mums stay. We were delighted that she immediately struck up a rapport with Mum and us, gaining our confidence and allaying any fears and concerns we might have had about
Mums impending stay. She articulated clearly what would happen when Mum entered the home and how she would be integrated and treated and her daily routines followed so that no distress or upset would occur.
At the end of her stay, my husband and I were amazed at how well Mum looked. She was happy, content and in good spirits. It was very apparent she had been afforded great care by a very well-intentioned, helpful, knowledgeable and professional team. We would have no hesitation in recommending this home for respite care.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.602)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.602) out of 10 for Trecelyn-Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 14 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.777 for Trecelyn-Court is calculated as follows: ( (151 Excellents x 5) + (5 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) + (4 Poors x 2) + (4 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 166 Ratings = 4.777
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.825 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Trecelyn-Court is based on 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.825
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 51 registered maximum number of service users is 10.2, which has been reached with 13 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
