Ward Green Lodge

Been a very good experience couldn't have done without the care that I was given. All the carers have been caring and very helpful. Meals are good and a variety to choose from. The home is very clean. Would recommend it to anyone.

My parents moved into Ward Green Lodge in March 2024. This was the best thing for both my parents as they came alive and took part in activities. My parents loved living here, and it was the staff who cared for my parents that made their final 18 months for my mum and 14 months for my dad. The staff/carers are all amazing and nothing is too much trouble. They all went above and beyond, and I would highly recommend Ward Green Lodge.

Ward green became their home and we felt safe and reassured about both Mum and Dad while in the care of everyone. Thank you.

On arrival at the main door any image received the green tick of approval and instant entry takes place. I also note that mobile phones are used for record keeping and residents activities. The home is attractive, well kept, clean and spacious. My husbands room looks into a garden and is comfortably and appropriately furnished with an attractive ensuite. Food is plentiful and much enjoyed and appreciated.When I asked about bedtimes I was told that my husband never retired before support - four meals a day. Many thanks to the wonderful staff.

All staff were professional, friendly and welcoming. Staff went above and beyond to care for him. I was kept informed of any problems with him, staff were always available to offer support and advice to me. In his last few days staff were extremely caring to him and me. I would highly recommend Ward Green Lodge.

Both my parents were cared for at Ward Green Lodge. They were loved by the staff and treated with dignity and respect. Transitioning from your own home to a care home is not easy, but the staff supported my parents in their transition, and they were able to make Ward Green Lodge their new home. The care in their last days was exceptional, with their physical and emotional needs cared for. As a family, we were cared for and supported.

My Mum recently stayed at Ward Green lodge for a 2 week respite break. During this time every single member of staff showed unlimited kindness, patient, compassion and care. It was a very stressful period of time for my family, especially my Mum, but the staff did everything they could to make her feel settled and comfortable. When elements of the care weren't quite suitable for my Mum's condition, they were quick to try other ideas and help as much as possible. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Ward Green Lodge to others, and should the need ever arise again, I know that my Mum would be in safe hands. Thank you to everyone at Ward Green Lodge.

I cannot recommend Ward Green Lodge enough. They have an excellent management team and the care staff on the dementia side are second to none. 4 carers in particular are exceptional and this care home is definitely a resident first home. They have lots of suitable activities but also respect residents who like peace and quiet. The home is very clean, good food and warm. There are staff always on hand if a resident is feeling unwell to check they are ok and an excellent Matron who also checks in on residents.

I won't be taking my mother there again. After reading reviews I thought it might be okay. But when I went to pick her up, it seems they had not given her medications for her diabetes for 3 days because they messed up with them. They basically lost the medication tray I took them. I gave them 2 weeks meds and they said I only gave them a week. I know what I gave them. They argued with me about them. In the end it turns out they found the meds on the day I picked her up. But she still hadn't had any for 3 days. I made it quite clear to them when I dropped her off, if there is any problems to ring me. But they didn't. Instead, she missed her meds for 3 days. No communication at all. Very irresponsible of them. If anything had happened, they would have been hell to pay. I will be putting a formal complaint in. And if they don't do anything about it I will take it further.

The care home is like a big family and all the staff have been so friendly and helpful and always so welcoming whatever time of day I visit. The staff have been consistent and professional in dealing with Mum's dementia and her physical health issues. Mum has always been treated with respect and dignity. It was a very difficult decision to place Mum in full-time care but I have no regrets whatsoever in choosing Ward Green Lodge to look after Mum and know that she is always well cared for and looked after. My mum was a resident at Ward Green Lodge for over three years. The home is like a big family and all the staff have been so friendly and helpful and always so welcoming when we visited. The staff have been consistent throughout this time - we have seen the kind people who helped with Mum's conditions of Parkinson's and Dementia as they progressed over time. Mum has always been treated with respect and dignity. During the last few days of her life, the love and care shown to Mum in her final hours was outstanding and the staff made a very difficult time a lot easier for the family. We have no regrets whatsoever in choosing Ward Green Lodge to look after Mum and know that she was always well cared for and loved.

My mum came for two weeks respite. When she arrived she was frail and withdrawn. During her stay, my mum has joined in with the activities, has eaten regularly and become much more sociable. My mum has come out much healthier and happier. During her time in the home, she has laughed and said how happy she is. She has come home today and already talking about going back.

The support offered to both my father in his daily needs was exceptional but also the support offered to myself was just as exceptional. Nothing was too much from having time to have a chat with myself regarding any concerns or worries I may have. The staff also provided a high level of communication so I was fully aware of anything that had happened to my dad in the home from a visit from the Dr to a change in medication.

I cannot praise Ward Green Lodge enough from the welcome you receive when first walking into the home and the care and love they showed my mum who sadly only stayed there for 6 days before her passing but the love and compassion shown to my mum and our family by the staff was truly amazing. They go above and beyond and it’s not just a job to them it’s a passion. Anyone thinking of going into this home won’t be disappointed and you will get such peace of mind your relative will be cared for. Well done Ward Green Lodge.

Brilliant, excellent care. Food was excellent, lots of choice, very good. Can't praise enough, thank you. All carers are great, need medals. Would come again.

The staff are very friendly and helpful and look after my husband very well.

My mum was in the care of Ward Green Lodge from March 2015 to September 2023. During this time I feel that I feel that my mum received the best care possible. All the staff were kind and caring and my mum was happy to be there.

My father has been a resident at Ward Green Lodge for five years. Throughout that period he has been treated with dignity and respect. I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home.

I moved into Ward Green Lodge because I was lonely at home. As my family all live away. It is the best thing I ever did. I have made lots of new friends. The food is amazing and the best bit I don't have to was up. The staff are wonderful, kind, caring and respectful. I will never be able to thank them enough for giving me my life back.
