Sherwood House is a 32 bed care home specialising in caring for those with a range of Dementia. The home has been furnished to a high standard to create an environment which is bright, warm and welcoming and gives plenty of space for residents to safely explore their surroundings. Families and friends can visit at any time in a safe and comfortable home.

My mum will have been at Sherwood House for 2 years in October and it gives me such peace of mind and that is down to an amazing team led by fantastic management. If there is an issue which is rare its dealt with the utmost care and dedication straight away. Its always clean and tidy from top to bottom!
I'm always pleased to see mum eating and what a great selection they have and often between main meals there are cakes, biscuits and fruit offered, encouragement being so important with dementia. I originally chose Sherwood because I couldn't imagine mum just slumped in a chair and she certainly isn't at Sherwood, always interaction and motivation. Mum is happy, well cared for and loved which is what any family living with this evil disease would wish for. Would recommend Sherwood House totally 100% to anyone.

Sherwood house is a wonderful care home our dad has been there for 3 years now, it has not been an easy journey as he will never settle in any care facility. He had been in another home for a year & while it was ok it didn't have the care & compassion Sherwood house provides, the support the manager
& two members of staff in particular have given my sister & I has been amazing as with all the staff. Dad is well looked after well fed & a particular staff member & the other staff take time to visit & chat to him as he's not one for mixing with people. All we can say is thank you all

Mum, who has mixed dementia, has been living at Sherwood House for 15 months now & I can honestly say that now there are blinds fitted to the conservatory roof I cannot fault the place! The food is delicious, freshly prepared on the premises & there's plenty of it. The home itself is spotlessly clean
& there is a beautiful courtyard garden out the back for the residents and families to use. There are daily activities for residents to join in with if they wish (music & dancing appear a particular favourite). And social media group keeps families up to date with goings on. Medical matters are dealt with in a timely fashion. All good stuff - but the thing that makes Sherwood so special is the team that work there. Everyone I've met & observed, without exception, has the care & best interests of the residents at heart. And staff turnover appears very low which speaks volumes. I know Mum is loved & cared for as if she were their own which is a huge worry off my shoulders.

My mum has been at Sherwood house for the past 5 years and we haven't had nothing but a positive relationship with all the staff members including management.
Staff make the effort to ensure residents are well looked after meaning they have physical and mental stimulation on a daily basis. This may
consist of singers, arts and crafts, petting zoo's and if suitable days out.
When raising concerns I have been able to successfully discuss these with the team leader and if required escalate to the manager, these concerns have been discussed in confidence and mutually agreed plans have been put in place to support my mum.
The food is fantastic and they organise numerous events based on their time of year, for example, Mother's Day tea, or afternoon tea for v day.
I can not thank Sherwood home for taking such good care of my mum for the past 5 years, it's lovely to see her thrive in a well supported environment

Enthusiastic and friendly staff. Regular updates and feedback on mother's condition readily available via WhatsApp. Any questions are dealt with immediately. The house is always busy with activities and the residents seem to be having lots of fun.

I wrote a review about 10 months ago. I still stick by it but will also add that Sherwood are very alert to any developing medical problems as well. When my mum lived at home with partner, it would take weeks to get something like a UTI diagnosed and treatment started. SH have been very alert to issues
like this and therefore we are confident mum is getting the best treatment and residency possible. Very happy.

Mum has now been a resident at Sherwood House for 18 months and is really settled. She readily takes part in many of the activities on offer and relishes helping others if possible. The staff at Sherwood treat the residents as their own extended family and any decisions for Mum have been made jointly
with my sister and I. If ever we have questions regarding Mum's health or care the managers respond professionally and always react in Mum's best interest. I would highly recommend Sherwood House to anyone looking for a safe home for their loved one.

Mum has been at Sherwood House since January 2024. We knew the transition would be difficult compounded by moving her away from South East London. The manager and staff have been amazing in settling mum which hasn't been easy. They continue to encourage mum and work collaboratively with us to support
her continuing care. Any concerns raised have been dealt with in a friendly, swift and transparent manner. The family meetings are a godsend and manager encourages open discussion and feedback at these. Suggestions I have made have been acted upon.
The heartbreaking decision to move mum into residential care has been made so much easier by the management and staff at Sherwood House.

We've had an amazing positive experience with this care home. All of the carers are amazing they go out of their way to make our loved ones feel safe and happy and are great support to the relatives. If we have any concerns they are dealt with immediately and in a positive and professional way.

My mum has been at Sherwood for over 4 years. Mum has been bed ridden for the past couple of years and is at EOL. The staff an management are and have always been amazing where mum is concerned. They can still raise a conversation from her and also get her to smile. If you knew my mum, you would know
that is not an easy thing to do. In the last 12 months the home have kept my mum really comfortable and as well as she could possibly be, which just reminds my sisters and I, that when we placed mum with Sherwood House. It was a very good decision.

There always appears to be a relaxed and well ordered environment within the home, with staff in attendance to assist as required. The residents are given activities and entertainment and are encouraged to participate.

The level of care at Sherwood house is amazing, the staff go above and beyond to make sure residents are happy, healthy and entertained and also well fed as the food always looks amazing. Residents are taken on trips if they are able to and communication via the WhatsApp group to see everyone enjoying

I'll keep this brief because it will quickly be removed. Sherwood House is a good care home with a very bad manager. My step-father's placement has been terminated due to us raising concerns about some aspects of his care. He has dementia and we have POA. The home's marketing material says 'we welcome
complaints' and 'no one will receive adverse treatment because they have made, or wish to raise a complaint, raise a concern or issue.' This is blatantly untrue. We did this politely and received a retaliatory eviction notice. My stepdad's MP has written to the manager and we are awaiting a safeguarding meeting with social services. I wouldn't advise against considering SH as a care home for your loved one; just be aware that the manager does not take kindly to relatives being 'hands-on' and if you dare to raise any issues, she WILL evict, claiming at the same time that it is in your loved one's best interests.

In these situations, we cannot put in place measures that could place the service user at risk or compromise their wellbeing.We have involved Adult Social Services, who commission the placement, and have asked their Safeguarding Team to review matters independently. In this particular situation, it was appropriate to serve notice so that another provider-whose approach is more closely aligned with the family's preferences-can be identified. Our focus throughout is to ensure that the service user's best interests are safeguarded at all times.

My mum has been at Sherwood for a little while now and she is very shy. All of the staff have made her feel very welcome and treated her with the utmost respect. The home is very modern and vibrant there is always something going on. They're always playing games or having singers for entertainment.
The food always smells amazing. It's hard to see your relatives decline but I feel comfortable in the fact that I know my mum is safe and well looked after at Sherwood.

My mother has been in Sherwood for the past 4 years. She has always been so well cared for and I'm sure not the easiest of residents to handle but hats off to the girls they are always bubbly fun and very caring. I wouldn't want Mum anywhere else.

My mum became a resident of Sherwood House almost a year ago, and I am nothing but delighted with the care and attention she receives. The communication we receive on a daily basis demonstrates the staff goes above and beyond what is expected, and questions are always answered within a short timeframe.
Mum clearly feels safe and well cared for - this is evident in her current calmer state, rarely showing any signs of anxiety. I would highly recommend Sherwood House for loved ones who require dementia care from thoroughly trained carers.

From the first (unannounced) visit to Sherwood House for dementia care we have found the staff to be welcoming, knowledgeable and compassionate. We looked at a number of homes. Sherwood House is fundamentally different; the only smell is the freshly cooked food (all prepared fresh); the residents
are all well dressed and freshly groomed; they are together in the large conservatory, well supervised and entertained. There is a regular stream of updates and photos of activities on private social media, daily personal updates to the family and immediate responses to questions. My sister-in-law is also blind which compounds her situation. The staff have taken this in their stride and adapted activities to facilitate her inclusion. They have gone the extra mile to manage her vulnerable anxiety.

My dad aged only 60 years old was placed in respite at Sherwood house after being diagnosed with Alzheimers at just 58. My mum and I visited ahead of placement and were taken aback by how unbelievably friendly, supportive and understanding the team was. We knew that it was the perfect place for Dad
to be. They continue to remain a huge support to our family, reassuring us every step of the way. Thank you so much to you all!

My aunt has been in Sherwood House for just over a month now. They are doing their very best at comforting her as she is struggling but it's early days. I've visited and can say it's very clean, the staff are all lovely and they have activities on all the time which they involve her if she likes or
not. The food looks amazing, there's so much choice. It's also really nice to see the photos of what they all get up to on the private group chat. We are very much included in what she gets up to and how her day has been. It's a great place and it's really helped knowing she's safe and well looked after.
