Sherwood House is a 32 bed care home specialising in caring for those with a range of Dementia. The home has been furnished to a high standard to create an environment which is bright, warm and welcoming and gives plenty of space for residents to safely explore their surroundings. Families and friends can visit at any time in a safe and comfortable home.

Their Dementia Therapeutic Practitioners' purpose is to make each day an enjoyable one for all residents. Their daily activities are designed to stimulate and provided entertainment. Reminiscence items and pictures together with memorabilia from their era are in place throughout the Home.

Communication is excellent, always kept up to date and the use of an app group is very good, staff have a very caring attitude. Dignity is respected at all times and I am more than happy with the service.

Thank you so much for putting on a Halloween party for all the residents. Special thanks to two particular members of staff for doing so on their day off. Outstanding food from the chef team too. Lots of fun, and we are grateful that Sherwood House continues to go over and above for relatives and residents.

Mum went into Sherwood House for a two-week respite stay.
Everyone was very helpful before she moved in, showing me around the home and explaining everything they offered. There is a bright lounge leading onto a paved garden area, which was ideal for Mum, who has very limited sight.
The staff are
lovely and are committed to giving the very best of care with kindness and respect.
I think Sherwood House provides a caring, stimulating environment for those with dementia who need a safe and happy place to live.

My brother in law went into Sherwood House during the second lockdown, we couldn’t view the home because of Covid, so we were a bit concerned. As a family, we worried over nothing as this care home is truly amazing. The staff are fantastic and very attentive, the home in general is fantastic from the
rooms to the food it has a amazing garden and from what I have seen all the residents are so happy and relaxed, would highly recommend this care home to anyone needing this service.

Mum has been at Sherwood since January 2021. We were not happy about having to put Mum into care, but were unable to care for Mum at home anymore, we were unfortunately left with no choice!
How lucky we feel that Sherwood House was the care home we chose!
Everything about the place is wonderful!
The
staff are incredibly caring, friendly and bubbly. They go above and beyond their duties to keep their residents happy and comfortable.
The food is excellent, and I would be happy to book a table here if it was a restaurant!
Sherwood house is not 5 star, it’s 10-stars!
Thank you to all at Sherwood for making it possible for my sister, brother and I, to be able to sleep at night knowing that our mum is being cared for by such a wonderful team of people!

My first experience of a care home and from initial contact to acceptance of my mother, could not have asked for better. Really well-explained process and procedure to help make the transition for my mother and me trouble-free.
The home itself is very inviting and staff first class.

My brother had a two-night stay to see if he would like to move in long term. He loved it! He was treated like a king. Staff and residents were so kind and respectful to my brother. He immediately relaxed and fitted in with the other residents. He loved his room, the food, the singing and the music.
Everywhere was bright, fresh and immaculate. He felt very safe and secure. I was impressed with everything, especially the way I was kept up-to-date with lots of messages and videos.

My sisters and I recently needed to put Mum in for a long weekend for respite.
A member of staff came to give Mum her Covid test at home, and straight away, I felt we had chosen the right home.
They set us up on a WhatsApp group, so my sister’s and I knew what was happening, and also a family group
and sent pictures and videos of Mum while she was in there, which was very comforting, as she seemed to be very happy.
What a lovely place and all the staff I met were great; the team leader extremely helpful.

Sherwood House, what an amazing care home. Our brother was moved here during the second lockdown as the previous home was shutting down. The staff are amazing and do so much for their residents; would say it’s more like a hotel than a care home. Our brother is so happy for the first time in a long time;
staff do so much to keep residents occupied and happy. Would highly recommend this home; it’s amazing.

My brother, sister and I would never have put our Mum into care, but circumstances left us with no choice. We were all mortified at the prospect. In such a short space of time, Mum started to improve in every way. She went into Sherwood more or less bedridden and with no will to carry on. Now, she is
living life again. Her mobility is improving, and she is smiling and joining in. It is obvious that she is surrounded by such caring staff who go way beyond normal duties and really care about their charges. We receive constant updates and feel we are always kept informed by the wonderful staff. We are all astounded at how far Mum has come. There are no words to convey just how happy we are with the amazing package that Sherwood House provides. Many, many thanks to all.

Cannot give a full report due to this Covid-19, it seems like a nice place, family orientated place for the relatives to see our parents finish their twilight years in. It's hard to give a review where you can't get to see the place fully from outside via a window. Calls and video contact fairly good
at times.

Since my mother has been in Sherwood House, she has settled in much better than I could have hoped for. The staff have been very kind and helpful, especially in the current covid 19 crisis setting up video links and calls. The facilities are bright and airy as are the rooms. I would recommend the Sherwood
House to anyone.
