Birdston Day Care

My dad enjoys getting out each Monday to Birdston to meet up with others of similar age and interests. He finds the staff to be very friendly and helpful especially on the bus each way. He enjoys the social side like their bingo sessions and singing and dancing.

Great service overall.

It gives us as a family peace of mind knowing she is safe on the two days that she attends.

I never thought that Mum would accept going to day care, but even after the first day there, it was obvious that mum felt comfortable and enjoyed her time at Birdston. Staff are so friendly and attentive and Mum always leaves with a smile on her face. I am grateful for this service and feel I am leaving Mum in safe hands.

The staff at daycare have been so kind and supportive especially during the past few weeks when my husband died. I look forward to coming to Birdston for the wide range of activities, good food, fun and laughter. Every staff member makes me feel welcome and I enjoy meeting the other people and having a good chat.

The bus driver and aide are always friendly and welcoming. Good at phoning with an estimated time of arrival. My husband is unable to tell me what happens when he is in daycare but I feel he must be happy as he often wants to ask everyone on the bus in for a coffee! He definitely enjoys the lunch and coffee. Again on the return, the staff are friendly and helpful.

Birdston Day Care is an outstanding centre for elderly people. My 95 year old Mother attends 3 days a week and the staff all show her an enormous amount of care, kindness and support. My Mother is so much more alive after a day at Birdston, with lots of conversation about the activities undertaken or the people who were in to entertain them. Her comment on leaving Birdston today, 'They are all so kind, we are treated as individuals not as a lot of old imbeciles!' My family are all so grateful for the care she receives and would not hesitate in recommending this Day Care centre for other elderly people.

My 97-year-old dad is delighted to be back at Birdstob Day Care. We both agree the staff and service provided is excellent! He always enjoys his lunch and tells me even sometimes gets extra soup. These visits to daycare are a lifeline to the outside world, and those few hours off me are fantastic. I am my dad's full-time carer and appreciate the service that Birdston Day Care provide.

This is one of the best daycare facilities I’ve seen. Friendly, welcoming and brilliant atmosphere my father-in-law loves it he’s kept stimulated throughout his day and looks forward to going. The staff and management bend over backwards to help and accommodate and believe me we’ve been pretty challenging with one thing and another just can’t thank them enough. Definitely puts the care back into caring profession.

The staff are very caring towards my dad and approachable if there’s something I need to speak to them about his care nothing is ever a problem to them. Even during the lockdown on the day he should have been at daycare they came out to the house with his lunch.

My mum looks forward to going to Birdston daycare every week, the staff are so friendly, helpful and very caring nothing seems too much trouble for them, they really do take the time to get to know who they are, the meals are great my mum tells me every time she comes home whats she’s had. They also have great activities my mum especially loves the bingo, you also get great information and feedback from Birdston which is great peace of mind for our family knowing she enjoys it so much and is well looked after.

My Dad looks forward to going to Birdstone Daycare every week, the staff are very cheerful and appear to really enjoy their jobs, the meals are great too, especially the fish and chips. The staff go out their way to be helpful. My dad doesn't tell me much but I can tell when he is happy and he is happy at Birdstone.

Daycare is a very happy place and staff very welcoming and caring - activities and entertainment good for stimulating service users.

My father is very happy with the care and attention he gets on his "Day Out". When he gets home he informs his wife what a wonderful lunch he had.
