Birdston Day Care has been an excellent service for my dad. Although Dad has dementia and is unable to tell us what he has done he is able to tell us he has had a great day.

Birdston Day Care has been an excellent service for my dad. Although Dad has dementia and is unable to tell us what he has done he is able to tell us he has had a great day.
The staff are excellent and provide support both emotionally and physically, they provide stimulating and fun activities that vary each day with something to suit most people spending the day there.
We have had several lovely photos of Dad joining in which is so nice to see and we get feedback on how Dad's day has gone.

My dad enjoys getting out each Monday to Birdston to meet up with others of similar age and interests. He finds the staff to be very friendly and helpful especially on the bus each way. He enjoys the social side like their bingo sessions and singing and dancing.

My mum loves going to the day centre, it has given her a purpose again. She has met lots of new friends and old ones that she had lost touch with.
The staff are warm and friendly nothing is too much bother.

The bus driver and aide are always friendly and welcoming. Good at phoning with an estimated time of arrival. My husband is unable to tell me what happens when he is in daycare but I feel he must be happy as he often wants to ask everyone on the bus in for a coffee! He definitely enjoys the lunch...

Birdston Day Care is an outstanding centre for elderly people. My 95 year old Mother attends 3 days a week and the staff all show her an enormous amount of care, kindness and support. My Mother is so much more alive after a day at Birdston, with lots of conversation about the activities undertaken...
Birdston Day Care is an outstanding centre for elderly people. My 95 year old Mother attends 3 days a week and the staff all show her an enormous amount of care, kindness and support. My Mother is so much more alive after a day at Birdston, with lots of conversation about the activities undertaken or the people who were in to entertain them. Her comment on leaving Birdston today, 'They are all so kind, we are treated as individuals not as a lot of old imbeciles!' My family are all so grateful for the care she receives and would not hesitate in recommending this Day Care centre for other elderly people.

My husband is very happy with his place at Birdston Day Care. He enjoys the activities, especially music and singing.
He is well cared for in a safe environment and that puts my mind at rest too.

Birdston Day Care has given mum a sense of belonging and purpose. Wonderful service delivered by staff that are passionate about what they do. Thank you for looking after mum.

My 97-year-old dad is delighted to be back at Birdstob Day Care. We both agree the staff and service provided is excellent! He always enjoys his lunch and tells me even sometimes gets extra soup. These visits to daycare are a lifeline to the outside world, and those few hours off me are fantastic....

This is one of the best daycare facilities I’ve seen. Friendly, welcoming and brilliant atmosphere my father-in-law loves it he’s kept stimulated throughout his day and looks forward to going. The staff and management bend over backwards to help and accommodate and believe me we’ve been pretty challenging with one thing and another just can’t thank them enough. Definitely puts the care back into caring profession.

The staff are very caring towards my dad and approachable if there’s something I need to speak to them about his care nothing is ever a problem to them. Even during the lockdown on the day he should have been at daycare they came out to the house with his lunch.

My mum looks forward to going to Birdston daycare every week, the staff are so friendly, helpful and very caring nothing seems too much trouble for them, they really do take the time to get to know who they are, the meals are great my mum tells me every time she comes home whats she’s had. They also have great activities my mum especially loves the bingo, you also get great information and feedback from Birdston which is great peace of mind for our family knowing she enjoys it so much and is well looked after.

Janet Grant is an experienced member of the care team. She has over twenty years experience beginning her career at Pacific Care as bank staff and soon after secured a full time position as a carer.
Over several years Janet's motivation and commitment to increase her knowledge and skills, whilst being supported by the company, successfully attained an SVQ 2 & 3, and most recently completing her SVQ4 and leader and management qualification.
Janet is also one of our dementia champions and feels that working in day care gives her a purpose, and is a very rewarding job. Janet often reflects how much of a pleasure it is looking after our service users in such a lovely environment, and knowing that she has given them her best to ensure they have a great day makes it so worthwhile.
