My mother looks forward to her visits to Birdston Day Care. Every single member of staff is friendly and helpful. Their kind and enthusiastic approach encourages my mother to join in the many excellent and varied activities during the day.
The centre itself is always warm with a cosy cheerful atmosphere.
There is a high standard of cleanliness and the meals are well suited to elderly people.
I can relax when my mother is in Birdston Day Care as I know I am leaving her in safe caring hands.

I feel that Birdston provide an excellent day care service. My mother uses this service twice each week and she looks forward to meeting up with ladies that she has met there. I have found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful. The 2 days that my mum attends allows me a break as well due to my mum
finding it increasingly difficult to be on her own as she gets older.

I am completely happy with services at Birdston Day Care. Although mum can't really tell us herself what she'd done and how she is treated., she always goes happily, which I guess means she is happy there.
All the staff, both clerical and medical, are excellent and nothing is ever a problem to them.
They always take care of mum. I get regular updates on her care. I only wish the service was freely available to all those who live alone and need it.

Ever since my mother started to attend 'Birdston Day Care' she has done nothing but praise the time she spends there. The quality of the service provided is excellent. From the staff to the facilities, the activities and catering are remarkable. I live in Fife and I am pleased that my mum has a great
time and the conversations I have after my mum has been to the centre is very interesting for me. We increased her days from 1/week to 3/week and I am so glad we did. I attended the recent Christmas lunch and I had a great time. Seeing first hand the care and attention everyone received was truly remarkable. Thanks.

Birdston Day Care is an extremely enjoyable place to come to for care and support. Clients have the opportunity to mix with other people and there is plenty of daily activities they can take part in both in the morning and afternoon. Occasional day trips are organised from the day centre and clients
are accompanied by two or three carers depending on numbers. The centre also has two voluntary workers who assist the seniors and the other care staff with the different aspects of support offered to attend clients. The centre manager and two seniors are always on duty to help any concerns.

My grandad has recently started at Birdston and I cannot praise the staff and centre enough. It has been fabulous! The staff have made such an effort to settle my grandad and as a family have reassured us so much. I am delighted my grandad has a place here as he is already really enjoying it, especially
the food. We have already added on a second day. The playlist idea is great and makes settling so much easier, hearing familiar songs definitely boosts the moral.

My Dad attends a few days per week and enjoys his time there. Staff are friendly and helpful and keep me up to date with how my dad has been with his eating, drinking and how he has interacted and enjoyed his day. This allows myself and my husband to have some me time with the knowledge that Dad is
safe and well looked after and that gives me complete reassurance.

My father has attended Birdston for a couple of years now. He enjoys going and always speaks warmly of his experience.
My dealings with the team at Birdston are always professional, helpful and friendly. I am confident that the care at Birdston has played an important part in my father being able
to continue living in his own home over this period.

I have already recommended the centre to a friend. I appreciate the collect and drop off service and the friendly attitudes of the staff. My husband always enjoys his lunch but unfortunately isn't able to participate in many of the activities. However, he particularly enjoys days out and would appreciate
more of these.

This provider is very helpful and understanding. My mother has Parkinsons and Parkinsons Dementia. She likes going to this daycare centre two days a week as it is getting her out into an environment with other people so overall it's very important to us in giving more balance and social benefits to
my mums week and life. There are sometimes my mother can be very tired in the mornings due to her conditions and the centre has been understanding when I take my mother there a few hours later or if she is too tired sometimes which we appreciate a lot as it's accepting her individual circumstances which are potentially challenging. When she goes there it is giving her a better quality of life and I have found the people who work there to be very tolerant and understanding regarding my mum and very helpful. Therefore this is overall a very positive experience for my mum despite her conditions.

My mother thoroughly enjoys her days at Birdston Day Care. This is a lifeline to the outside world for her and without it, her life would be misery. I have found the staff at Birdston Day Care on all occasions to be very friendly and diligent in the discharge of their duties. The activities provided,
such as the day trips and the Christmas party are always well organised, and once again I can say my mother loves her time there. She has also made some good friends. Well done Birdston.

We have used Birdston now for about 5 years. I have always been pleased with how my husband has been treated and cared for. It gives me great peace of mind to know that he is being well looked after. The staff are friendly and kind and I would like to think they are my friends too. There is a great manager
and it seems to be a good, happy place for everyone. Things are changing for my husband, but he is always treated with dignity and care. Thank you, everyone, for looking after him.

  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Adult Day Care Centre is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for Birdston Day Care is calculated as follows: ( (55 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 55 Ratings = 5

The 5 points relating to the number of Positive Reviews for Birdston Day Care is based on 5 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows: 3 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.5 = 5
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Adult Day Care Centre does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
