My mother-in-law enjoys being a Day Care User at Holmfield, Leicester. The manager is excellent and all the staff are so kind and they even remembered it had been my mother-in-law’s birthday the same week that she attended. The activities are really engaging and I can’t speak highly enough of the manager
and her team.

I am very pleased with the staff at Holmfield Day Centre. Always very friendly and helpful. They do a very good job despite the complicated needs of some of the people they look after especially my wife can be very difficult.

Holmfield Day Centre has recently been refurbished and is my nan's home from home. My nan has dementia and attends Holmfield Day Centre daily, there are lots of activities, and lovely meals, and the staff are amazing they could not do enough. I'm updated daily when I collect my nan. Nan's dementia has
progressed however since attending the day centre she is more talkative due to having social stimulation, I cannot thank the day centre enough for the care and activities they provide.

My wife has dementia and is at Holmfield Day Centre two days a week. She is looked after really well and cared for by every member of staff that works there. Also, it gives me the breaks I need and also if I ever need to talk over my problems relating to my wife, the staff are always there for me as
well. It's brilliant, and I would recommend the place and the staff to anyone in a similar position.

My husband has benefited from the lovely staff at Holmfield Day Centre. He is more active and social than before he went there. I also benefit as 24-hours a day for carer is very tiring. He still has bad days, but I'm better to deal with them.

My wife was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2007 and started attending Holmfield Day Centre weekly in 2014. After six months she was admitted to a care home full-time. During her 26 months in the care home, she continued to make regular use of Holmfield Day Centre and enjoyed the environment, staff and
creative activities, her condition deteriorated such that she had to go into hospital and died in May 2017. Holmfield came to us by personal recommendation and I have no hesitation in passing this on. The staff are kind, loving, supportive and work with cheerful good humour at all times.
Regular formal and private meetings with the management enable relatives of service users to discuss any concerns that may arise and ethos of positive development is clearly evident and no occasion for celebration is ever missed.

My mother and I have attended Holmfield Day Centre for more than 2 years now. My mother seems very happy and so am I with the care she receives from all staff at this centre and I have no concerns about her care. I think the staff do an amazing job.


What does concern me is the fact that in the summer

time there is no air and also the inside and outside could with a bit of modernisation. I have spoken to management at George Hythe House before and their answer was to look into this (aircon and decoration for a tidy up).


I would be very grateful if you could come back to me on this concern I have as I feel that I have been ignored on this matter since February 2017.

Thank you for your comments, we always welcome feedback. We have been fundraising in order to modernise/update the facilities. By next spring you should see a big difference. We have had a number of grants and donations to create a 'Dementia Village' there will be shops and a café on the premises for all to use.
