Secret Garden Day Care

Secret Garden is a warm safe place marked by a dedicated team who understand and dealt with all sorts of my needs and problems which can occur manning an establishment like this. The prime object is to make sure every person enjoys it is safe and want to come again.

I always find staff very friendly and helpful. My husband visits the day centre. He is more than cared for. He always enjoys the activities and this company and the love care and support he is given from the staff. The management runs a well organised centre and ensure staff users and all visitors are welcome. Recommend centre.

The manager also made visiting professionals welcome to view Mum in her own environment, he frequently re-organised transport for Mum when we needed to change days to cater for last minute appointments. Thank you to all of you. You really do make a difference and should be applauded for doing so.

Dad really looks forward to his twice-weekly visit to Secret Garden. He has made some really close friendships and enjoys gentle mental and physical activities put on, especially the singalongs with visiting singers. Dad is vegetarian and the options aren't that good.

For years I have received quality care at the Secret Garden, this continues.

I do have a problem with accounts though since January 2024, I would receive an overdue notice even though my husband only did half a day (4 hours). I have written several times to no avail.

My husband enjoys going to the Secret Garden, he has increased from one to two days recently and he likes it so much. The staff are very helpful and caring. He enjoys the activities, particularly singing, quizzes and games. He has vascular dementia and this can make things difficult for him but the staff are always very considerate and understanding.

The Secret Garden Day Care has been a valuable place to discover. My Mum was very reluctant to give it a try but after the first visit, it was obvious that the experience had made a great impact on her. The staff are lovely, kind people and the food, drinks and activities have made her day much more bearable. She goes in anxious but quickly reassured and comes out smiling.

I cannot recommend the staff at Secret Garden more highly. They go far beyond normal expectations. They have provided great support and advise with all the procedures and paperwork. My dad has dementia and I have seen a dramatic improvement in him since he has been visiting the Secret Garden. I feel so reassured that the Secret Garden will look after my dad in a caring and thoughtful way.

Nothing seems too much trouble.

As Mum's primary carer, I must add that her attendance at the Secret Garden enables me to continue working part-time, which is essential for me.

My mother enjoyed the social aspect and group activities which we were unable to provide. She looked forward to attending the two sessions a week. She was there from March to August 2023, until she needed more daily care, which is being provided by a care home. Thank you to the manager and team for their help.

My dad has been going for many months now. He has dementia and needed some stimulation and motivation in his day. He's a quiet chap and although has a wicked sense of humour, he probably wouldn't choose to put himself in a sociable situation. The Hub has done wonders for him though. He absolutely loves it; comes home raving about it and looks forward to going again. They really get to know the individual and try to put them with like-minded people initially. They are very proactive and do so much with them. It's really great to see. The team are cheerful and attentive. Our whole family agree that we are so happy to have found it. I highly recommend the Hub, keep up the great work!

The Secret Garden is an amazing place! My husband attends twice a week, and it has been a lifeline for us both. It has given him an interest and allowed me to have some "me time". It has been stimulating for him, and he gets to chat with other clients with similar interests and backgrounds. All the staff are so friendly and welcoming and have been a great support. Thank you so much every at the Secret Garden.

A welcome respite for me, knowing that my wife is safe and comfortable. It is very useful having a notebook of her days, events and meals.

I am so glad that Secret Garden was recommended to us. My husband has young-onset Alzheimer's Disease and loves going there. The staff are so friendly and caring, and the activities are varied and well planned. They have also nurtured my husband's own passions, encouraging him to sing for the group, which has boosted his self-esteem; he also has lots of fun there. The environment is modern, bright, warm and comfortable, with a lovely garden area. I am also supported by the staff. Knowing that my husband is happy there allows me to relax and enjoy some much-needed respite.

They are the "best", they are so good to me, and my husband. I could not manage without their help. I can talk to any member of staff. I laugh, I cry and they give me a hug. Thank you for all of them.

All the staff seem very friendly and treat my husband with dignity. I am particularly impressed by the manager. My husband has only attended since 10/2020, and so far, activities have seemed rather limited and repetitive, but realise this is probably due to the restrictions of the present Covid situation.

Before I started at the day centre, I badly needed a change. I lived on my own and was lonely, affected by Covid-19. My church was shut, and my choir has stopped practising. My daughter was invaluable in arranging my Tuesday and Friday daycare! I found the staff, the location and the facilities invaluable. My mental health improved almost immediately.
