I had been given four months to live when I moved in here. I got asked when I die, do I want to die here or in hospital - that was six years ago! That is now good I have been looked after here and I hope to live here for six more years.

This time last year, I was thinking I was doing the right thing moving into the Meadows. A year later, minus 6 days, you bet I was! I couldn't have done better, lovely flat, lovely carers doing their best coping with the obstructions that covid causes. I'm so settled here, in my new home and can't thank
the staff enough for caring for and looking after me. I've already recommended it here and a lady has just moved in. Another, her friend, is due to move in soon.

The care from day one has been excellent, all the staff are very good. I have not got one person who I would not like looking after my mum and several go above and beyond in their care, kindness and compassion for Mum. They know Mum by her first name, always have time for her and I know they are always
busy and treat her with respect and dignity. The activities that Mum does are excellent but I feel more activities would be beneficial.

My Mother was a resident in The Meadows Housing with Care for four years until she passed away in October 2020. The staff at The Meadows were so loving and caring to Mum, nothing was ever too much - they would spend time talking, having a cup of tea and making sure she had everything she wanted. I can't
thank them enough for what they have done for her. The days leading up to her passing, she was never left alone and when the day came, I was with her. Her carers were so good, they went so far to make sure that I was ok and done everything even contacting the necessary people. I would always say to anyone whose parents needed care that they can get the best care from The Meadows. Every single carer is exceptional.
My Mother was so fortunate to spend her last years being cared for by caring and loving people. Thanks to all the Staff!

Both of my parents moved into The Meadows in May 2018. My mother requiring full-time care around the clock but allowing my dad to remain independent; with assistance on hand if required. Prior to the move, I was deeply concerned with both of my parents' future; concerning their overall health and well
being. However, from the outset and with my parents slowly adjusting to their new homely surroundings, I can rest assured that both parents receive the assistance they richly deserve; ultimately a new lease of life to enjoy for my dad. From the outset, I was pleasantly surprised by the outstanding facilities provided. All staff are kind-hearted, considerate and effective in communication, very friendly to chat with and more importantly supportive to both of my parents; exemplary from the top of the management tree, through the Team Leaders and ultimately the care staff who are at the coal face; true unknown warriors who do not receive enough justified credit where it's due.

My daughter, who has a learning disability, recently moved into the new complex at Bowthorpe in Norwich. At the age of 28, this is the first time she has lived alone. All the staff at the Meadows have made this transition so much easier due to their kindness and dedication. It is a wonderful place and
I have the peace of mind knowing that my daughter is safe and most of all, happy. A big thank you to all the staff!

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.766)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.766) out of 10 for The Meadows is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 20 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Extra Care Housing is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.766 for The Meadows is calculated as follows: ( (192 Excellents x 5) + (38 Goods x 4) + (9 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 239 Ratings = 4.766
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

    5 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months: 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.5 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews. (1st = 3, 2nd = 0.5, 3rd = 0.5, 4th = 0.5, 5th = 0.5)

The 5 points relating to the number of Positive Reviews for The Meadows is based on 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows: 3 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.5 = 5
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Extra Care Housing does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
