Down Under in Dartford at Sonya Lodge Residential Care Home

At our Care Home in Dartford, we journeyed Down Under as part of our Nellsar Cruise armchair travel adventure — exploring the sights, sounds and flavours of Australia. Our residents enjoyed learning fascinating facts about Australia, taking part in themed quizzes and even playing Aussie bingo.

Through virtual travel experiences on YouTube, we explored famous landmarks and beautiful landscapes, bringing a taste of Australia right into our Home.

No cultural celebration would be complete without sampling some traditional treats. Our ladies and gents tried fairy bread, Lamingtons and even Vegemite on toast, all washed down with a selection of Australian beer, wine or soft drinks.

The day was filled with smiles and fantastic photo opportunities as everyone embraced the theme. It was a wonderful way to experience life Down Under without leaving the comfort of Sonya Lodge!
