Improvements are progressively being made.
A team of activities workers is now in place.
Staff are being augmented across the disciplines and additional food items introduced, for example apples.
A restructuring has been effected meaning that staff and operational management now work routinely across
the four active ward areas ensuring experience in different client groups and less opportunity for stagnation.
The early morning has been rationalized regarding potentially excessive consumption and this issue in general is a priority.
Nurses continue to relate to patients in an empathetic and assertive manner explaining the rationale behind decisions on care and medication.
A newly in post consultant liaises, daily in person with the wards and the Occupational Therapy lead is also widely proactive.
Increased staffing is accompanying increases in patients numbers and a staged redecorating programme is also underway. Patients have been asked to comment on food and other care provision.

My husband could not be in a better place. The staff are wonderful, caring for him with dignity. He has late stage dementia but is always immaculately dressed, his room is beautifully clean and he, and I, are treated as one of the family.
