My mother has been in this care home since May 2025 and I have been very impressed with the cleanliness, the organisation and the layout/facilities. Her room is compact with tv and day chairs, and also its own toilet and sink ensuite. I have observed the caring way the staff help people and my mother
has told me herself how well they look after her. The food looks good and there is a choice of dishes at every meal. I observed live music on regular occasions and there are facilities to sit and read, do puzzles or just relax. I am very glad my mother is there!

Although I do not like being in a care home and would have preferred to stay in my own home, I knew that was not possible because I was always falling over and forgetting things - cooking, cleaning etc. My wife chose Cumbria House and I think she has picked one of the best in the area.

My mum has now been a resident at The Grange for 6 years. In that time she has received amazing care, the staff are always polite and friendly and keep me well informed on how mum is doing.
Whenever she has needed medical attention they are quick to respond and always phone me immediately to let me
know.
The home is well run and every member of staff provides mum with the level of care I would expect and they all genuinely seem to care about my mum.
I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who finds themselves in the position I was in 6 years ago.

My aunt sadly passed away in March 2025. She had been a resident at The Grange since early December 2023 following a fall at home when she broke her hip. My husband and I and family visited her regularly. I am pleased to say she was very happy and well looked after by all staff at The Grange. In my
estimation The Grange is extremely well managed where key issues are regularly addressed to make the residents' stay a happy and comfortable experience. At all times when we visited her we were met with a warm welcome by all staff. Thank you so much! In fact we believe the excellent care she received extended her life expectancy.

My mother was a resident at Cumbria House for just over a year and we are very grateful for the care she received there.
The home has a very relaxed, friendly environment. It is well lef by managers who are open and welcoming. Care, compassion, kindness and commitment was shown by every member of staff.
My mother was always treated with dignity and respect. The home was always clean and tidy. Families are made welcome at anytime, always greeted as friends and offered refreshments. I can thoroughly recommend Cumbria House for the care of loved ones.

My mother died at The Grange on 20 April. Throughout her stay there we were pleased with the care she was given. In the days before her death, a senior carer did her paperwork in Mum's room to make sure she was not alone when the inevitable happened. So kind and thoughtful. We were always kept informed
of any problems. The manager and senior carers were all excellent.

This is a wonderful home, the staff are amazing and incredible. The cleanliness and smell of the house is extremely pleasant. Best of all the management of the home is the greatest of all. I love the home and I am willing to stay here until my dying day.

This is my mother's second care home experience. I would have no hesitation in recommending Cumbria House. An immaculate, friendly care home which is very well-run. She is very well looked after including frequent nighttime checks. There are regular visits from a chiropodist, hairdresser, and optician.
When visiting I have often delayed my departure to listen to visiting singers or musicians, who all seem to be of a high standard, as does the weekly seated exercise class. The carers and the home handyman are all very welcoming and efficient.
My family and I look forward to the Christmas party!

Our family is grateful for the care my grandma has received at Cumbria House. As a resident for nearly a year, we've been impressed by the staff's attention and compassion. They treat her with dignity, ensuring she is comfortable and happy. The team is friendly, and the manager excels in keeping us
informed about her well-being, providing peace of mind.
Her room is spacious, cosy, and well-maintained, while the communal areas create a warm atmosphere. The visitor lounge makes spending time with family easy and enjoyable. Small gestures, like greeting us kindly and offering a drink, highlight their dedication to both residents and families.
We're pleased with the care and environment at Cumbria House. Knowing my grandma is in such capable, respectful hands is truly comforting.
