My dad was adamant that he didn't want to go into any care home, but had to because of building work being done in his house. Staff and other residents welcomed him and he instantly felt at home. The chairs the residents sit on are fabric, with cushions, the bedrooms have bedspreads and carpets, the dining room is laid out like a restaurant with tablecloths and flowers on the table. After 3 weeks he had to return home, but after just two weeks he asked to go back and stayed for a further 18 months. During that time the staff treated him with kindness and compassion and they became like his family and he was always having a joke and a laugh with them. He was much more content than when he was living on his own with carers coming in. He was always thanking the staff and he enjoyed the weekly activities. I will be eternally grateful to all the staff and fellow residents for making my dad's last months such a happy time.
They look after my mum with patience and compassion, always treating her as an individual and supporting her in a way that feels both respectful and thoughtful. The team is remarkably stable, with little to no turnover, which creates continuity and trust.
Music sessions, activities and gentle social opportunities are organised regularly, but residents seem to be free to be themselves and do what they enjoy, with encouragement offered only when it feels right for them. Visiting is never rigid or restricted, family can come at any time, which makes the home feel open and welcoming.
I couldn't ask for a better place for mum.
My husband visited The Grange for 2 weeks respite care while I had to go away. He enjoyed his stay even though he was reluctant to go. He praised the staff for their kindness and care and said he was very well looked after. He is happy to go back if I have to go away again.
The level of care at this home is exceptional my mother was a resident for 3 years during which time I never had call to complain. Staff always friendly no matter what time of day or night. I cannot praise this home enough.
My father has been treated with nothing but courtesy, dignity and care, since he moved to The Grange. Lovely setting, and good facilities. Would recommend to anyone looking for a place for a friend or relative.
When visiting the establishment is very clean, tidy and the atmosphere is welcoming and very friendly. The staff are so attentive and professional to the residents needs. I am grateful that my mum is in the care of the staff here. Well done to you all.
The care home is very well run. The staff are so diligent & kind. The condition of mum is amazing, always clean & well dressed. Her make-up is done, so is her hair. The food is fantastic. The home is clean, neat + tidy. Thank you for your hard work + kindness.
I know that Reg is extremely happy in the home and speaks highly of it.
My Mother has been living at the Grange for 4 months now.. All the Staff are welcoming and helpful.. The Care my Mother has received is excellent... We all went to the Christmas party which was amazing. They often have singers go in, and the atmosphere is lovely. My Mother is very very happy there
The home is very clean, pleasant staff; mum's room is a fair size, just right for her needs.
My dad has lived at the Grange for 3 years and was made to feel welcome from his first day. All the staff are very caring and compassionate and treat all of the residents with dignity and respect. There are regular activities for residents and their families. The home is lovely and clean and looks nice from the outside. Whenever I visit I am always greeted by the staff in a friendly manner and know I can approach any of them if I have any concerns
The Grange has a lovely atmosphere and the residents all seem happy and extremely well cared for.
A particular strength is the attention the team pay to each individuals needs. My mother in law has dietary requirements which the team go out of their way to not just accommodate but exceed.
The personal care is timely and thorough and I feel very confident that my mum in law is in safe, knowledgable hands.
It is always possible to speak to a member of staff in person or on the phone.
Mums been in The Grange for 6 months and settled in, in no time. Getting the help and care she needs and all the staff are helpful and friendly.
First impressions as soon as your walk up the path to the care home that the garden is well maintained. Being met at the door, all the staff have been very friendly and helpful. You always see the staff being attentive to the residents. Mum loves the food and wide selection on offer to eat.
My mother has been in this care home since May 2025 and I have been very impressed with the cleanliness, the organisation and the layout/facilities. Her room is compact with tv and day chairs, and also its own toilet and sink ensuite. I have observed the caring way the staff help people and my mother has told me herself how well they look after her. The food looks good and there is a choice of dishes at every meal. I observed live music on regular occasions and there are facilities to sit and read, do puzzles or just relax. I am very glad my mother is there!
Whenever she has needed medical attention they are quick to respond and always phone me immediately to let me know.
The home is well run and every member of staff provides mum with the level of care I would expect and they all genuinely seem to care about my mum.
I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who finds themselves in the position I was in 6 years ago.
My aunt sadly passed away in March 2025. She had been a resident at The Grange since early December 2023 following a fall at home when she broke her hip. My husband and I and family visited her regularly. I am pleased to say she was very happy and well looked after by all staff at The Grange. In my estimation The Grange is extremely well managed where key issues are regularly addressed to make the residents' stay a happy and comfortable experience. At all times when we visited her we were met with a warm welcome by all staff. Thank you so much! In fact we believe the excellent care she received extended her life expectancy.
My mother died at The Grange on 20 April. Throughout her stay there we were pleased with the care she was given. In the days before her death, a senior carer did her paperwork in Mum's room to make sure she was not alone when the inevitable happened. So kind and thoughtful. We were always kept informed of any problems. The manager and senior carers were all excellent.
The manager is so kind and helpful really appreciate how much she went out the way so settle our mum into the home
The staff are lovely and very caring towards mum
Our family feel so happy that mum is in a good safe place
The Grange Care Home is a lovely home, management and staff are lovely. I visit a lot, I always find it very good. Residents are well cared for, and all seem very happy.
