Mum was placed in Adelaide House for emergency care due to a breakdown in live in care. Although we did not choose this nursing home, we are so happy she was placed there. From the moment we arrived on a December night, they showed so much compassion for our situation. Mum received excellent care while she was there. Mum's health declined, and she passed away. The end-of-life care was wonderful, all staff so kind, so caring, and so respectful.

My brother has been a resident of Adelaide House for more than 21 years. The staff there have all gone above and beyond in their care of him. His room has always been immaculate, as has the rest of the house. The activities put on for the residents have been very varied and well run. I would thoroughly recommend Adelaide House. The staff have all been so caring and very welcoming when I visit.

After much research I opted for Adelaide House and truly cannot recommend them enough. My Aunt has only been there for a couple of months but the care and kindness she has received has been second to none. Nothing is too much trouble and they have a knack of anticipating your needs before you can articulate them yourself, the staff are so friendly, kind and helpful.

My Aunt is 97 and is loving the food, company and activities she can be part of and I am loving the security of knowing she is safe and so well cared for, thank you all.

Adelaide House is absolutely wonderful
My mother, who has mixed dementia, has been here 5 months now. The staff are so kind and caring and take a genuine interest in their residents. Nothing is too much trouble and they prioritise the happiness and contentment of the residents. The care Manager Susan and Deputy Care Manager George are excellent and their ethos and caring leadership is felt warmly in the home. I viewed many homes for my mum, Adelaide Hoise was the second and I knew instantly it was the place for her.
Unfortunately there were no ground floor rooms available at that time, but George liaised with the hospital and social worker and as soon as one became available mum was placed there.

After years of caring and stress I know know my mum is safe and well cared for. Visiting her in Adelaide House feels like visiting a real home from home and the 'Adelaide family'.

My mother was a resident at Wellington House from November 2025 to January 2026, following a fall at home and two episodes of hip surgery. Throughout this time she was well cared for and treated with kindness and respect by all the staff. We cannot thank the staff enough for making mums last year, months, weeks and days as comfortable as possible.

Our mum was only in the care home for a short while. But while she was there she was very well looked after. The carers showed her nothing but kindness and respect. Also when any member of the family was to visit we were always updated and offered tea or coffee with mum.

Thank you to everyone who looked after our mum.

I can't praise all the staff at Wellington enough, from Monika front of house to healthcare assistants, nursing staff and kitchen. We always had a warm welcome from Monika and put at ease. My Mum was very well cared for, monitored and nursed as was required. She was very comfortable and always said everyone was lovely with her.

Our Mum was in Wellington House for end of life care for six weeks. During this difficult time my siblings and I visited every day and were so reassured that Mum received the best care and attention. She was always clean and well dressed and her room was beautifully decorated, as was the whole home. We were always welcomed warmly and offered refreshments. The staff were very efficient as well as being respectful friendly kind and caring. We could not have asked for a better experience for my Mum in her final weeks and for us as her loved ones.

Review of Bletchingley & Wellington from Dan S (Brother of Resident) published on 14 January 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My brother was temporarily homed twice in Wellington last year, as part of his journey from independent living to full time care. As a Brain Injury/ Stroke victim , he was not the archetypal resident of a Dementia Care home and was something of a square peg in a round hole. A very awkward and challenging square peg it must be added, that at times is very difficult to deal with. Notwithstanding this the Staff did a very good job in keeping him safe, clean and well fed, and interacting with him in a kind and very humane way. Full marks to them! The management at all times, were bright and cheery, and rapid to respond to any issues that occurred and genuinely very happy to go out of their way to help! Very impressive ! I once ran a Care Home and I know first hand there are varying standards of 'Care'! I would happily recommend Wellington House as very much in the top category and would have no hesitation in recommending them to all who need care in the later stages of life!

Overall Experience
Mum was a resident of Wellington House from October 2024 to August 2025, until her death.
Our review as a family, is that the care was amazing, the staff were unbelievably kind, caring, empathetic, compassionate and treated mum with utmost respect and dignity. We visited everyday all 3 of us and we to were shown the same warmth from all the staff.
Mum was always put first and her life was valued right until the end. Mums room was near to the dining room so we could see the other residence, they to were treated in the same way.
Nothing was to much trouble, we had the utmost faith that all mums care needs were covered, if there was a medical need it was dealt with straight away, we are grateful for this, that mum never suffered and she died with grace and the feeling that she was very much loved.

Communication was excellent, we had a good understanding that mum was at the end of her life and that every day mattered, as did mum. Thank you soo much.

The care assistants were so kind, considerate and patient. They were all very friendly with big smiles and greetings when we arrived to visit Dad. He responded well to them and nothing was too much trouble. It was lovely to see familiar staff each time and offered tea and biscuits, even out to the garden. Dad was always very clean and well presented. For additional care and nursing there was a great team of registered nurses. Always on hand to update us on any medical concerns and they reacted very quickly and professionally when Dad became poorly., and contacted us immediately. There was a variety of home cooked each day. Everywhere was kept immaculately, clean and tidy, including Dad's room. There was always a calm, inviting environment which was nice. There were many activities arranged daily and entertainment throughout the month as well celebrations for each resident's birthday which was lovely. The manager was so helpful, kind, especially at the time of need, offering us a room.

Mum was not at Wellington House for long but she was so well cared for during her stay. The staff were always friendly to Mum and us when we visited (which was often). We knew that she was safe and well looked after. During her last days, all the staff were amazing and we would have no hesitation in recommending others to use Wellington House for their loved ones. Thank you so so much for looking after our Mum with kindness and empathy when she needed it most.
