Haviland House has been providing high-quality expert care, focussed on creating a comfortable and happy environment. It is clear all the staff in Haviland House care greatly about the residents and advise to their needs in order to provide the most enjoyable and high quality care environment possible. I am amazed by the amount of activities available to residents, be that music, films, knitting. The gardens and setting of the House is also lovely, contributing to the amazing environment and experience at every stage.

My uncle is on a respite stay and after 3 days is very happy and appears to be thriving. The home seems to be well organised, staff are caring & residents are treated with dignity. There seem to be a variety of activities and Roger is enjoying the meals. There is a lovely large garden with various activities! A lovely care home!

Review of Caer Gwent from Sandra J (Sister of Resident) published on 28 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Over the past year my sister has been extremely well cared for. Due to Parkinson's she needed extra care and I cannot thank enough all the staff of Caer Gwent. She sadly passed away very recently, this was handled with great dignity, love and care. The nursing staff were superb as were the carers they looked after me as well as her. She enjoyed the chats, Sammy who organised outings and entertainment, the banter with the admin and cleaning staff, Clare the Manager where nothing was too much trouble. The Restaurant staff who went to so much trouble to provide alternative choices when it became too much to eat, the list goes on. A cheerful happy home from home. Thank you.

Review of Caer Gwent from Keith C (Son of Resident) published on 28 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Mum went into Caer Gwent in mid-May, after 2 visits to be shown around, meet the staff and see her potential room. For Mum this was a confusing period; a big change from independent living. The staff were very sensitive and welcoming.
Immediately we (son and daughter) saw a step up in the level of health care and the communication to us regarding this. After a couple of weeks we received a draft healthcare plan (over 20 pages) that we were encourage to input to. We also received updates on changes to Mum's medication. This was so reassuring, as we now knew Mum was receiving the care she needs.
Due to frailty, Mum had started to become socially isolated, which was not good for her. Now she takes meals in the dining room with other residents to chat to and goes to activities that are organised on-sight (and occasional trips off-site). Meals are varied, and there are always options if she doesn't like the menu proposals.

Following a review, we have confirmed Mum will be staying

I have been so impressed with the care Mum has received at Haviland House. All the staff are so friendly and always available to speak to me to give any updates.

There is always lots going on and it is lovely to be sent a monthly email of all the activities planned 'knot and natter' and drumming are just 2 examples. She loved the recent trip to the Garden Centre to have tea and look at the plants. Thank you to everyone for the wonderful care at Haviland House.

Review of Linfield House from Peter W (Power of Attorney of Resident) published on 27 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

We are POA's for a friend who went to live in Linfield House about two and a half years ago. We have been very impressed with the care she has been given during this time. The staff are very friendly and caring and we have been particularly impressed with how well they know the names of all the residents and interact with them in the Home. Staff are kept busy but when they have quiet moments they take the opportunity to spend individual time with each resident and discover more about their lives. The staff keep us informed of our friend's welfare and we are very much included in decisions about what's best for her and kept abreast of developments within the Home. There is a lovely atmosphere in the Home and a wide range of activities is organised.

My Mum has Altzhiemer's disease and has been a resident at Linfield House for nearly five years. I can't express in words how grateful we are for the loving care Mum has received on her journey with this illness. Her personal hygiene needs are always met, she is always comfortable. The home in general and her room always smell fresh and are immaculately clean. She is always treated with love and respect and the staff can always raise a smile from her. The lady who I have been POA to for some years has just celebrated her 90th birthday at Linfield House. She has been a Linfield family member (resident) for 3 years this September and I have always appreciated the care the staff give her. It gives me complete piece of mind knowing she is loved and cared for so professionally. I have got to know many staff members, even though I am only able to visit 4 times a year but I see such care and dedication and joy when I observe them with her. Even Louise on reception helps get messages to staff for me. I would highly recommend Linfield House.
