We visited Margaret in her room and found her happy, well cared for and settled.

The staff are friendly, kind, extremely welcoming and warm. Margaret clearly has a great relationship with the care staff. We sang happy birthday to her and could see the joy in her at the fun. We are grateful for the care she receives. We receive monthly updates by email as we live in Ireland and for all of this thank you.

When entering Haviland House the reception area is always clean/tidy and you are greeted with a genuine hello and how are you. The lifts/hallways are always clean and floor area clear. Always get a cheery smile/chat from the cleaners who do a wonderful job, management always happy to see you even in passing. The floor my partner is on is clean/tidy and any accidents are cleaned up straight away. The carers in my opinion are wonderful dedicated and really care for and about each and every resident always interactive with whatever is going on also lots of smiles which is very calming. My thanks to all the carers.

Review of Linfield House from Anne B (Daughter of Resident) published on 12 August 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Mum moved into Linfield House in May 2026. This move has been a resounding success. It is clear that staff have got to know mum; likes, dislikes and sense of humour.
Linfield House is spotless and has the atmosphere of a home, not a care home. The activity coordinators run a range of activities daily and Mum is always encouraged to go knowing that she can return to her suite if she prefers.
The choices for mealtimes are extensive and personal preferences discussed daily on an individual basis. Mum no longer snacks as she is having excellent freshly cooked meals and eating well every day.
Communication with care staff, nursing staff and management is excellent and positively encouraged.

Whilst Mum may not be able to verbalise how she feels in words, it is very clear from her demeanour that she feels safe and well cared for. She is much more relaxed and cheerful in herself, this is testament to not only the environment but even more so to the wonderful dedicated team of staff.

My Mum was looked after with care and compassion by experienced staff trained in dementia care. She was a long term resident at Linfield House and her care needs were reassessed and adjusted as dementia progressed and her mobility decreased. A consistent team of carers meant they knew her and could recognise her non verbal cues. I was kept informed and consulted and the office, nurses, carers and management were open and easy to talk to I felt that Mums welfare was always their priority. During Covid every effort was made to facilitate family contact whilst complying with all the regulations. Mum was given every opportunity to join the activities even when she deteriorated and was only capable of watching others and enjoying the music. I felt I could go and visit at any time and it was always a clean and safe environment.

My lovely mum moved into Angmering House at Haviland house 14 months ago. It was such a hard decision, and we looked at many care homes before choosing Haviland House. 14 months on we (my sister, mum and myself) are so pleased we chose Haviland House. My mum consistantly says "I'm so lucky to live here, the staff are so kind and respectful. If i want something I only have to ask and they will help me" Outside of Angmoring house the Haviland team always acknowledge mum with a cheery hello Jan (even when we are out in the community) We often joke mum has a better social life than us.

Haviland House has been providing high-quality expert care, focussed on creating a comfortable and happy environment. It is clear all the staff in Haviland House care greatly about the residents and advise to their needs in order to provide the most enjoyable and high quality care environment possible. I am amazed by the amount of activities available to residents, be that music, films, knitting. The gardens and setting of the House is also lovely, contributing to the amazing environment and experience at every stage.

Review of Caer Gwent from Sandra J (Sister of Resident) published on 28 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Over the past year my sister has been extremely well cared for. Due to Parkinson's she needed extra care and I cannot thank enough all the staff of Caer Gwent. She sadly passed away very recently, this was handled with great dignity, love and care. The nursing staff were superb as were the carers they looked after me as well as her. She enjoyed the chats, Sammy who organised outings and entertainment, the banter with the admin and cleaning staff, Clare the Manager where nothing was too much trouble. The Restaurant staff who went to so much trouble to provide alternative choices when it became too much to eat, the list goes on. A cheerful happy home from home. Thank you.

Review of Caer Gwent from Keith C (Son of Resident) published on 28 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Mum went into Caer Gwent in mid-May, after 2 visits to be shown around, meet the staff and see her potential room. For Mum this was a confusing period; a big change from independent living. The staff were very sensitive and welcoming.
Immediately we (son and daughter) saw a step up in the level of health care and the communication to us regarding this. After a couple of weeks we received a draft healthcare plan (over 20 pages) that we were encourage to input to. We also received updates on changes to Mum's medication. This was so reassuring, as we now knew Mum was receiving the care she needs.
Due to frailty, Mum had started to become socially isolated, which was not good for her. Now she takes meals in the dining room with other residents to chat to and goes to activities that are organised on-sight (and occasional trips off-site). Meals are varied, and there are always options if she doesn't like the menu proposals.

Following a review, we have confirmed Mum will be staying
