Reviews

9.2 Linfield House has a Review Score of 9.2 (9.241)

The Review Score of 9.2 (maximum of 10) for Linfield House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 8 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Linfield House in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.5 for Linfield House is calculated as follows: ( (52 Excellents x 5) + (40 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 96 Ratings = 4.5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 4.741 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Linfield House is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4

    2. Target of 10.8 positive Reviews (54 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 8 Reviews ÷ 10.8 Target = 0.741

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

My father has had the best of care at Linfield. The staff are amazing. They care for the residents and their families and take time to look after each resident and their individual needs so well. I would have no hesitation in recommending Linfield as a place for your loved ones to be looked after as you would look after them yourself, with love and the best of care.

I would recommend Linfield House or a Guild Care home to others, depending on their needs and circumstances. The standards of cleanliness are high, the catering also and whatever area the staff work in, they all connect well with the residents.

A very approachable home where nothing is too much trouble. A door open policy with all staff from the top managers to the shop floor care team. Fantastic.

Since my mother has been in Linfield, at first she said she badly missed her previous care home which was understandable but now she says she feels really at home and is very complimentary regarding Linfield House. I personally find the staff very friendly and responsive.

A well run home with excellent staff in all departments. As with all care homes, staff shortages are apparent but existing staff work very hard to minimise the effect on residents. Families made very welcome.

All the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I was worried about the move from one care home to another, but my family member was made to feel at ease and very welcome. I feel I don't have to worry as much, as she is in good hands.

My mother is 92, extremely frail, has mild dementia and needs daily help. She entered Linfield House in November 2015 and has been resident since. She is looked after with great skill, patience and kindness by the care team on a daily basis. They know the things that will make her enjoy her day (such as her favourite biscuits), and relate to her as a human being with her own personality. They always make me very welcome when I visit. The nursing team involve me in my mother’s care, run any changes by me first and I have every confidence in them. The home is extremely well managed, and this is reflected in the teamwork and support I see on a daily basis. The senior managers are always available if I need advice, and I am regularly updated about my mother. The home is clean and comfortable and with a good array of facilities such as hairdressing, manicures, and an events programme. I am confident that my mother is being very well looked after and impressed by the care she receives.

When I first visited Linfield House, I noticed how calm the home seemed to be. The rooms were bright and airy and the residents occupied. There were lots of places to sit and watch over the park. Mum moved in last November and seems to have settled in nicely. She often gets breakfast in her room and is never hurried to get up. The staff are patient with her as she cannot move around very well. Health is well taken care of with a nurse always available to have a chat if there are any concerns. Mum seems to enjoy her food and there is often a cup of tea on offer. The home offers every comfort and she has a very comfortable room overlooking the park. The minibus means that she can be taken out for the afternoon to a local garden centre and there are often entertainers booked to encourage the residents to enjoy themselves. Linfield is spotlessly clean and tidy and the staff are always welcoming and ready to chat. I no longer have any worries about Mum's care.
