It takes a while to trust to another in the care of a mother, but mum had decided that she was ready to accept residential care when she moved to Lindfield.
Two years in with her dementia slowly progressing, she has accepted the care offered in a way we couldn't have previously thought would be possible.
Mum loves her new home, except when she doesn't, and then her relationship with the staff is secure enough to allow her to continue to accept and receive the care offered.
The standard of care provided by the home is high and mum enjoys good relationships with all of her care team. Generally the continuity of care, which is important to mum is good, and staff are able to make her feel special.
The home takes pride in the plethora of daily activities which mum gets a lot of enjoyment from.
In addition mum has special dietary needs which the home works hard to accommodate.
Mum's decision to move to Lindfield was a wise one.
Reply from Rebecca Sinclair, Head of Marketing at Linfield HouseThank you very much for taking the time to share your experience. We are pleased to hear that your mum has settled well at Linfield House and that she feels secure and supported by the team.
It is reassuring to know that the continuity of care and the positive relationships she has formed with staff have helped her feel valued and comfortable in her home. We are also delighted that she enjoys the activities and that her specific dietary needs are being well supported.
Your feedback means a great deal to the whole team and will be shared with them. Thank you again for your kind words and for trusting us with your mum's care.

The care home staff have been very informative ( keeping me up to date with my brothers well-being )
They contact me when or if any information is needed , so I always know how my brother is doing, or if he needs anything.
The admin and nursing staff I have found easy to talk to.

There is a really good contact from the care home should anything happen i.e. an outbreak of COVID or something similar for family members not to visit.
The care of my mother is really good. I can telephone to the nurses if I have any concerns about my mother's health and someone always gets back to
me should they be busy.
There always is a presence of a few carers around to talk to should that be needed. For meals the residents have a choice to go down to the dining room or eat in the lounge.
It is warm and the residents are well cared for.
The bedrooms/en suite are kept clean.
The ambience is clean and smells fresh.
Reply from Kevin Burke, Director of Care Homes and Dementia Services at Linfield HouseThank you for sharing your experience. We are very pleased to hear that you feel well informed and supported, especially during times when visiting may need to change for safety reasons.
It is wonderful to know that your mother receives good care and that our nursing and care teams are responsive whenever you have concerns. We are glad you find the home warm, welcoming and clean, and that your mother can choose where she prefers to enjoy her meals.
Your comments about the helpful presence of our carers and the fresh, comfortable environment mean a great deal. Thank you again for your thoughtful feedback and for your trust in our team.

The level of care my mother receives at Linfield is truly exceptional. I cannot recommend this home highly enough. The staff are incredibly compassionate and attentive, showing genuine understanding and sensitivity toward my mother's complex dementia needs.
The senior team has also been immensely supportive,

My mother has been at this care home for nearly two years. In those two years, I feel that she has been looked after brilliantly. Everyone is so caring, and nothing is too much. All the staff are very friendly and always have a welcoming smile on their faces. My mum loves the entertainment which she
looks forward to most days. She seems to enjoy the variety of lunches and dinners which are served up every day plus the endless cups of tea, which she likes to tell me about. When I ask her if she is OK, she enjoys talking about what has happened and who she has spoken to her during the day. Yes, she's very happy here.
Reply from Kevin Burke, Director of Care Homes and Dementia Services at Linfield HouseThank you so much for sharing such a heartfelt review. We are truly delighted to hear how well your mother has settled over the past two years and that she continues to feel happy and cared for at the home. It is wonderful to know that she enjoys the daily entertainment and looks forward to the activities on offer, as these moments of joy and connection are so important to us.
Your comments about the meals, the friendly atmosphere and the warm welcome from our team mean a great deal. Our staff work hard to create a positive and engaging environment, and it is lovely to hear that your mother talks so fondly about her day and the people she interacts with.
We will share your kind words with the whole team, and I know they will be touched by your feedback. Thank you again for your trust and for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review.

My father has been at Linfield for nine months. I have always found my father very happy and well cared for when I visit weekly. He is always clean and well presented.
His room and en suite are spotlessly clean.
I have no bad observations whatsoever.

My mother initially refused to entertain the idea of going into a care home. However, when we took her on a tour of Linfield House, she was very impressed with it and said, "That is where I want to be." Myself and my sister were very impressed with it too.
We were so happy that we managed to get her
in really quickly - the staff really pulled out all the stops! As we were struggling to meet her needs in her home, we were very grateful for this.
The accommodation, decor and facilities are of a really good standard - very thoughtfully designed and well-maintained. The gardens are lovely and having the dementia garden is amazing. The staff are always warm and welcoming and have almost become friends. The attention to detail is mostly very good and staff communicate with relatives well.
My mother's financial circumstances are currently challenging as we are having to sell her flat. The home have been extremely patient whilst we have been going through this stressful process.

My stepmother moved to Linfield House after a stroke left her with dementia and loss of mobility. She is looked after wonderfully. The staff are so friendly and caring. They have learned her likes and dislikes and they all do their best to enable her to join in with as many aspects of daily living as
she can manage. I wouldn't have thought it possible but she has actually improved with what she is able to do since moving to Linfield House. Whenever I visit, the staff always welcome me and will stop to chat about how my stepmother is doing and what they've been talking about with her. She has settled in wonderfully and is very happy at Linfield House.

I'm not sure I will find the right words to write this review, but Linfield House and all the staff are fabulous, professional, kind, patient and very understanding. Both of my parents were at Linfield, my Dad, sadly for palliative care, and my mum as she suffers from dementia. There is no other place
like Linfield, and I truly will always be grateful for everything they did for both of my parents. You feel like one of the family, and the residents are treated by the carers like their own family. Thank you to all the staff at Linfield; you all are special people and all wonderful too. A special thanks to all the team.

My sister has been a resident on Whitcombe Suite for four years, she has been very well cared for, and staff have dealt with her changing needs with care and consideration. She has remained cheerful and is always greeted with a smile and a chat from the laundry staff, cleaners, carers and nurses. The
food is really good with a choice which is appreciated. She loves the company and numerous activities in the lounge arranged by the activities staff who organise wonderful entertainment. From the friendly reception as you enter to the welcome cups of tea and cake in the afternoon I thank you.

My mum had Alzheimer's and dementia and we got to the stage where we felt Mums needs would best be met in residential care.
Mum settled in well, was eating better than she had been at home and joining in with the mostly daily activities. Unfortunately, she had a fall in the night, she was examined
in hospital but was returned to Linfield House. The care staff supported Mum to improve her mobility.
Unfortunately, Mum's dementia deteriorated very suddenly, and despite the very best efforts of the staff, Mum's condition declined and she died in late September.
I was so impressed with the genuine care, affection and respect afforded my Mum whilst she resided in Linfield, including domiciliary, care, nursing and management staff. The staff also cared for us, her daughters as Mum reached the end of her life, I just can't praise and thank them enough.
Reply from Kevin Burke, Director of Care Homes and Dementia Services at Linfield HouseThank you so much for your heartfelt feedback. My mum moved into Linfield House in June 2024, in the late stages of Alzheimer's. After it became unsafe for her to be at home. Mum was losing the ability to eat and drink and the staff continually encouraged her to try and eat. As soon as entering Linfield's you can feel the warmth and friendship.
From the very start the staff made Mum feel loved and cared for. Every member of the team were friendly and caring and nothing was too much trouble for them. The staff at the home encouraged Mum to join in with activities when she could. The staff at the home had very good communication and if there were any issues I was contacted straight away to keep me informed. Sadly Mum lost her fight in September, the last four months of her life were better for her being at Linfield's. Anybody who is having doubts for their family member please feel reassured that this a welcoming and amazing home, I only wish that we had moved her there sooner.
Reply from Kevin Burke, Director of Care Homes and Dementia Services at Linfield HouseThank you for sharing your heartfelt review about your mum's experience at Linfield House. We are deeply moved to know that from the very start, our staff could provide her with the warmth, love and care she needed. We take great pride in fostering a supportive and welcoming environment, and it means so much to hear that your mum felt comforted and valued during her time with us. We are especially glad that you felt reassured by our team's communication and dedication. Encouraging residents to join activities and ensuring they are treated with dignity and compassion is at the heart of what we do. We are truly sorry for your loss but we hope it brings comfort to know that her final months were filled with care and friendship at Linfield House. My late sister was cared for by the very dedicated team at Linfield House during the advanced stage of Parkinson's disease. They were gentle, kind, supportive and encouraging, especially during the last weeks of her life. Their loving care extended to me and our family when we also had bad days coping.
Linfield House is light, airy, spacious with a calm atmosphere, is very clean with good rooms, excellent food and activities programme. I knew it was the right place as soon as I walked around the facilities and met the manager and some of the staff.

My parents, both of whom have Dementia, have been residing at Linfield House for almost a year now. I have nothing but praise for all the Carers and Nurses at Seldon Suite. They display unwavering devotion, respect and care at all times towards my parents and the other residents, enabling them to retain

My mum has Dementia and couldn't cope living independently anymore, and after a respite stay at Linfield, she decided she wanted to live there permanently.
This was a great decision as she is now much happier in herself, and we, the family, can rest assured she is well cared for and all her needs are
met.
The staff are lovely, and the home is equally lovely.
Communication has always been great.
Here's hoping Mum remains as happy and enjoys the rest of her life at her new home.

I hold Power of Attorney for a good friend who has always relished her independence. When she became unable to live safely on her own it was a huge challenge to find appropriate residential care, but Linfield House has provided a supportive and caring environment. Staff have taken the time to get to
know her as a person and are interested in her 'background story'. The nursing staff are excellent at keeping in touch if there are any concerns, visitors are welcomed like family, and the inevitable 'tricky situations' amongst a significant proportion of people living with dementia are managed with compassion and good humour. Management, Carers, Nurses, Reception, Housekeeping, Maintenance and Kitchen Staff all play their part in this.

(1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 54 registered maximum number of service users is 10.8, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
