My mum has been in the Richmond Suite at Linfield for over a year now. The staff were amazing in helping Mum to settle in. It was a daunting time for her with dementia, but one that was made so much easier with person-centred care and support. Mum has continued to be happy and content feeling safe.
Linfield has a varied program of daily events which she loves joining in with, helping to stimulate her and maintain her interaction with others.
The staff are approachable and happy to discuss anything. They all know and understand Mum well, so quickly pick up on any concerns.
The manager even has an open-door policy, which is great.
It is so reassuring to know mum is well looked after, and is safe.
Thank you everyone.

All of the staff at Linfield were incredibly kind, caring and patient with my Granny. They were brilliant at communicating with us in a timely appropriate way and we felt that all of her needs were met. They were very good at giving nursing care when it was needed and liaising with medical staff including
the GP. I felt they really understood her needs including her dementia. The food looked excellent and of a high quality and my Granny enjoyed it. Her room was always clean and tidy and it was well furnished.
The home felt peaceful and calm but I was also very impressed with the daily activities and entertainment on offer. I will always remember the kindness given to my granny from all the staff - they were truly excellent. We felt supported as a family when we visited and staff were available to talk to if we wanted. I felt they got to know my Granny very well despite her only being there for a relatively short amount of time.

My wife and I act as power of attorney for an elderly friend. We were impressed when we visited Linfield and she has been there since early December.
After an initial trial period, she has settled in remarkably well. The staff are caring, supportive and kind. The activities are varied, interesting
and entertaining.
As power of attorney, we are kept informed and always warmly welcomed when we visit several times each week. We thoroughly recommend Linfield as a caring and warm environment which our elderly friend now happily calls home.

My cousin says that she is very happy at Linfield House. She says that the staff are very kind to her and the food is good.
She likes her room and I was so pleased she has a lovely large room with 2 windows and an ensuite. There is plenty of wall space for her pictures and shelves for photos and ornaments.
She has a landline phone on the table so we can call her.
We needed a few conversations to ensure she was offered only fish, not meat but this was soon remedied.
If she has any medical issues the nurses phone me the same day to inform me.
I feel very happy with my cousin being looked after at Linfield House and feel she is safe.
It is expensive but I was told by several people that it is the best care home in Worthing so that was my priority when choosing.

All the staff I have had contact with have been really lovely.
They went over and above to make my mother's birthday really special.
She has greatly improved since being in their care and living her best life.

Mum had over two years here. She was very happy and well looked after. After a stroke a few weeks prior to her death the care was extremely good and I couldn't have wished for better care. Thoroughly recommended.

Mum has been cared for at Linfield for 7 years now. Her changing care needs have been dealt with proactively and professionally and I am included in discussions about her care plan. If there are any concerns I will always get a call. Consistent core staffing ensures she is looked after by carers that
know her well and recognise her needs as she can no longer express them. The carers are warm, thoughtful and inclusive to residents and visitors. They create a relaxed family atmosphere in the lounge. I am very happy with Mum's care and I would recommend Linfield to anyone.

My mum stayed at Linfield for 13 nights, following admission to the hospital for complications from Covid and a head injury from several falls.
From the moment she was greeted, until the moment she left, the staff were delightful, treated her with compassion and respect and genuinely seemed to care.
The staff communicated well with me, as well, which meant a lot. The room was bright and clean and the food was pretty good - there was flexibility for dietary requirements. I would recommend this home, as it was the best place for my mum to gain her strength and confidence before returning home.

My mother stayed with you for ten days of respite and the level of care was extremely poor. Even when she arrived, the BP machine wasn't working and never was taken until I asked a week later. Carers were generally very young and disinterested. Examples: given laxatives unbeknown which caused an accident
and she wasn't showered. Had to bring in blankets because there is one thin sheet. No one came into the room unless she rang the bell. No stool at the sink for her to sit whilst she washed. Woken at 6 am to take paracetamol. No proactive engagement. TV remote not working etc. Now she is somewhere else I realise how bad it was!

The care staff at Linfield have been so wonderful. When my mother arrived from the hospital in 2018 she was very frail, she has thrived at Linfield since that time. I live overseas, it is so important to know that the staff really keep a careful eye on her. Every time I call she is happy and comfortable.
I originally had a hard time being able to speak to Mum by phone. We now have a planned time for my call to a phone in her room. The food is amazing, they have done so much to make sure she can have some of her favourites. Mum now has to have a soft diet which they make appetizing.

Given that mum could no longer live a fulfilled and safe life in her own home anymore, her only option was to go into care. This seemingly huge compromise turned out to be the best decision we could have made. Her last three years in Linfield gave her a new extended family in the staff and carers. Their
genuine interest and care for her physical and mental well-being cannot be overstated. She knew she had people around her who genuinely loved her at the end, and for that, I shall be eternally grateful. Linfield House has proved that going into care doesn't have to be a sad or a diminishing option for anyone who needs help to continue to have a good life.

My cousin has been a resident at Linfield House for over four years. The physical and medical care he has received has been very satisfactory. We live some distance away but when we visit, staff show care and attention, and also patience, which is so important as my cousin's physical condition and dementia
sadly worsen. A lot of effort was made during the Covid period to protect residents and to enable visits which was much appreciated. We receive regular updates and photos/videos of residents involved in activities which help us to stay in touch. We feel great confidence in the care Linfield provides.

Mum moved to Linfield house in May and we couldn't be happier with the care she is receiving. As a family, we all feel welcome when visiting. The atmosphere in the home is calm which was really important for us for mum. The facilities are great, the staff are helpful, kind and approachable. I feel included

My mother was placed with Linfield House following her hip operation and subsequent complications. With nurturing, mum began to respond, and her overall demeanour and weight improved.

She has had a lovely stay and I can confidently say that the care and compassion she has received at Lindfield House

have been of the highest standard.

If it wasn't for everybody at Linfield getting mum back on her feet, encouraging her to walk and be a little more independent, the transition back home would have been a much more complicated exercise.

Mum is thriving and with comparable care is enjoying the more active life that Linfield laid the foundations of. Thank you again.

Five weeks of kind, considerate and time-consuming care was given to my wife when she arrived at Linfield House from the hospital. As members of her family, we were made welcome by all members of staff whenever we visited. We could not have asked for more than we and she received. Although we had hoped
to have her home again, that proved impossible. But we will always be grateful that her life found its peaceful ending in such a loving and caring home.

My Mum moved to Linfield House quite recently and I am very happy with the care she receives. As a designated Carer Visitor I can visit her often and remain a consistent and essential family contact and support for her. In these difficult times, this has been a lifeline for all of us. The staff have
been amazing. They are friendly and kind and very, very caring. The communication from all members of staff is fantastic. I am involved in all decisions involving Mum's care and the staff are always ready to listen and act on suggestions. They quickly understood Mum's needs and likes and dislikes and go any lengths to accommodate her. I cannot commend them highly enough.
Reply from Jolanta Harbuz, Care Home Manager at Linfield HouseThank you so much for these lovely comments! It has been difficult trying to maintain regular visits over the past couple of years, but I’m so happy to hear that you’ve been able to stay so connected with your mum, even with certain restrictions in place. The pandemic has certainly been a learning experience for us, and we’re going to keep using everything we’ve learnt in the future! Thanks again for this review, we will share it with all our staff.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.833)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.833) out of 10 for Linfield House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 24 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.833 for Linfield House is calculated as follows: ( (237 Excellents x 5) + (41 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 281 Ratings = 4.833
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Linfield House is based on 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 54 registered maximum number of service users is 10.8, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Practice Development Facilitator Joined: 2015

I have worked with Guild Care for almost 10 years, beginning my journey as a Care Assistant before progressing into my current role as Practice Development Facilitator. My role is all about supporting colleagues to deliver safe, confident and compassionate care. I spend much of my time mentoring and coaching staff on the floor, making sure everyone feels equipped and supported in their roles. I also oversee training across the home, including running practical workshops and delivering our bespoke dementia training programme, “I’m Still Me”.

I love seeing colleagues grow in confidence and knowing that the training we provide makes a real difference to the people who live at Linfield House. Working closely with our residents and their families is incredibly rewarding, and it means a lot to be part of a team that is committed to providing the very best care every single day.
