Should you have any queries with regards to your mother's care and appointments, kindly ask to speak to the nurse in charge when you come and visit or kindly phone us for updates if there is anything in particular you need clarifying. Unfortunately appointments do not go to admin and management offices. Our nurse's always inform families when Resident's do get appointments. Kindly know that you are always welcome to give us a call if you have any queries.

I have been in the service in the last 2 years. Since then, the management has increased the staffing to meet our Resident's needs better. All staff are instructed not to leave any resident they are assisting to do another activity at all cost. Patient safety is paramount to us. Every day is different in a care home setting, there will be days that is is busier than normal. We always aim to answer all calls promptly but if staff are in a middle of assisting residents, a little wait cannot be avoided. The lounge is not to be left unattended so even if there is a staff in the lounge, they cannot do any other activity if there are Residents in the lounge.Symonds House Nursing Home is always supporting Resident's and their families, happiness and comfort. We are more than happy to assist when and if necessary.

We can only apologise for the upset the current situation has caused the family. Service users who walk with purpose are free to access all areas of the units they live in. We try our best to ensure that the environment they live in is safe. With anyone who independently mobilises comes risks, one of which is falls. On all forms on hand, the service user was trying to get up on her own hence the staff assisted her to do so. Our protocol is to immobilise a fallen resident regardless of if it is witnessed or unwitnessed fall. In this situation, the service user was adamant to get up and was struggling hence staff assisted her. After a couple of hours, she showed discomfort and pain, emergency services were called immediately but unfortunately, we do not have control over their arrival. The current management is unable to comment on events that had happened in the past. We choose not to comment on the cleanliness as we are going to be at risk of breaching confidentiality.
