Eothen Homes Ltd provides care for the elderly with a focus on Christian values where all residents’ spiritual needs are met. The group is a charity and was established in 1950 offering high standards of individualised care to their residents.

Eothen Homes have three care homes situated in Sutton, Gosforth and Whitley Bay, each of which have dedicated and highly trained professionals providing personal and 'home-from-home' care.

It also has a home in Wallsend which offers a ground-breaking model of care in which each person’s quality of life is the overriding priority, taking precedence over structured processes and schedules. The focus is on independence and wellbeing through a relationship-centred style of support involving the person with dementia, their family and friends.

Each home is set in attractive and spacious gardens and are all situated close to local high streets and public transport links, allowing those who are used to leading an active life to continue in this way.

It's impossible to describe just how amazing Wallsend Eothen Homes is. Everything from the home itself and its relaxed, homely environment to the most incredible caring staff. Everyone in this home, from the manager to the cleaners and chefs, knows the residents and cares about their well-being. After
having a terrible experience before coming to this home, mum is so happy and settled - it's definitely become her second home. I can't recommend this home more highly!

Since my mother moved into Eothen, I have been very impressed with the level of care and compassion with which she has been treated. She has improved both physically and cognitively. The variety of activities is fabulous, she particularly loves the musical ones. The home is very clean. Mum was initially
in for respite, but we have no qualms in making her a permanent resident.

I would not hesitate to recommend Eothen Wallsend to those who have family or friends with dementia. The staff are fantastic and cannot do enough for the residents. The environment doesn't feel in any way like a medical facility, but a home. Lots of activities are arranged for the residents to keep
them as engaged as possible. Just wish we had found the place sooner.

My mother became resident at Christmas 2024 and sine then my sister, my wife and I have been most impressed by the care and attention at Eothen in Gosforth. The staff are all kind, caring and always ready and willing to help and look after my mum. In addition we have been surprised and happy to see
my mum enjoying joining in with daily activities and communal mealtimes because of the encouragement from the team. We have also noted with appreciation that staff anticipate and prevent difficulties. Thank you, we feel very comfortable with her situation.

Eothen Homes is fabulous. Our dementia care journey has been nothing but a fight until we were fortunate enough to get my father a place at the haven which is Eothen. Staff are all fabulous, the facilities are brilliant and the grounds are magnificent. My father is very well cared for and I have no

I have nothing but praise for the carers who work there. I am always made to feel very welcome anytime I visit, but most of all they seem to have a great relationship with my mother, who is very happy living at Eothen. I spent 8 days in hospital for a total shoulder replacement operation. I am 91 years old and live alone as I have no family and no relatives in the area and I needed a period of full-time care. I was fortunate to obtain 5 weeks of respite care in Eothen Homes Whitney Bay. The management and staff were
excellent, all efficient and caring. The cleaning and laundry services were second to none. The food served was home-cooked with an excellent variety. Tea and coffee were served mid-morning and afternoon with cake etc. A hot drink was also served in the evening. As a fairly fit non-resident I had an excellent rapport with staff and management, and leaving them was quite a wrench. The residents I spent time with, were also friendly and helped make my stay extremely pleasant. The entertainment and activities I experienced were all very good. I would certainly recommend this care home highly.

It was a huge step to go from living independently to residential care, but following a fall, a stay in hospital and a decline in my Aunt's health it was clearly time to review her care arrangements. I need not have worried as Eothen have been there to support us every step of the way. As a consequence
my Aunty settled so quickly, she and I have felt very welcomed into the Eothen family. To start with the Eothen building and grounds are immaculate, but it's the staff that really make this place so special, they treat their beloved residents with dignity, respect, kindness, compassion and above everything love. I could not be happier with the care given and look forward to lots more special times with my Aunty at Eothen. The staff here should be very proud of the difference they make to the lives of their residents and the peace of mind they give to their families.

I have been very impressed with the standard of care provided by the staff at Eothen. This has made a very difficult decision for our family more positive than we had anticipated. I feel that mums transition with her multiple needs both emotional and physical has been helped by the care that she has
received. when there have been issues they have been resolved and most importantly mums views and needs have been respected and met. We feel confident that as her needs change the staff will be proactive and response - so important as Eothen is now her home.

Our mam has been living in Eothen Wallsend since July 2023, having moved from another care home. She is so lucky to live here. Her dementia has left her feeling lost and anxious, but there is always someone there with a hug and a smile. The staff are so kind, and infinitely patient and treat her with
dignity and respect. They take time to listen to her needs, even when she is unable to vocalise them. The "household" arrangement keeps her centred and comfortable. The home is clean, the facilities are amazing, and the gardens are immaculately kept. Mam feels at home here. Eothen is the very best home.

I can't speak highly enough for this care home, having visited 9 homes in the North East and experiencing the care of one before my mum moved here, this was definitely the best. My mum receives care from staff who really want to do the best for her. The manager of the home has high standards and expectations
and her leadership style ensures residents needs are prioritised and that dignity and respect are at the forefront of everything they do. This home is about good quality care, with staff that really do care.

My father was a resident at Eothen Home in Gosforth for nearly two years until his death, and I have nothing but praise for the Home and all of the staff. It is well managed, professional, spotless, but also relaxed, friendly and welcoming. All the staff got to know my father well and really cared for
him, night and day. He had medical care when he needed it, but it was the care staff at the home that were so wonderful as they got to know my father and his needs. Their care and respect for him and their support for the family as he died was exceptional and I cannot thank them enough for all they have done to make his last couple of years comfortable, enjoyable, independent and dignified. I would not hesitate to recommend Eothen Gosforth.

I am very impressed with Eothen Gosforth. All my mother in law needs are taken care of. The staff are very attentive, patient and kind. There are numerous activities arranged, catering for all interests.The staff actively seek ways to improve the residents quality of life - nothing is too much trouble.
Looking at other homes in the area, I believe that Eothen represents excellent value for money. I would not hesitate to recommend Eothen Gosforth to other families.

Mum lived at Eothen for around 2 years, it is good and the staff are excellent. They were all very kind and made her feel happy and connected. They are all highly skilled and consistently spoke to Mum with humour, respect, care and a sense of compassion.
The facilities are clean and spacious, it has
a really comfortable feel. The building is divided into 'houses' giving a settled family feeling to the residents.
Eothen is safe and the staff have excellent training. They genuinely care about how their residents are feeling and their well-being. The food is great and the puddings are phenomenal! I would highly recommend this fabulous care home.

Since my mum has been at Eothen she has been so well looked after. The staff have such positivity and kindness, both when dealing with my mum, who can be difficult at times, and also with our family, for whom this journey is challenging and unfamiliar. They support us all in so many ways. I like the
fact that within the home itself no doors are locked and the residents can move freely between households. Any time we have concerns or questions, there is always someone to talk to. It is a beautifully designed facility, with residents at its heart.
And the outside space is equally well-designed and beautifully maintained.
