Our mum moved to Eothen in Gosforth in August 2026, aged 89. She had had a ten week stay in hospital and was unable to manage at home any longer. From the very first visit, we were impressed with the caring staff and the high quality of environment. There is a real home from home ethos and that has been borne out in our experience since. Our mother's care has been exemplary. She is treated as an individual with courtesy, warmth and attention to detail. Nothing is too much trouble. There is excellent stimulation daily - mornings and afternoons. Meals and snacks are all prepared at the home and are really lovely. The gardens are beautifully kept to sit in on warmer days and our mum has been on several visits out with staff. Mum's room is beautiful and has been personalised with things from her home. The GP, nurse, hairdresser and chiropodist come regularly. We are so happy she is safe and happy and so well cared for. I recommend Eothen wholeheartedly.

This place is amazing all staff are dedicated to the residents always interacting with the residents.it is more like a hotel than a care home.the food they serve is first class.big shout out to the chef and his team.There is always lots of activities and acts on.

The Tiki evening was a HUGE hit, Dad had great fun and it really settled him in properly. He has been taken out to a place that was of special interest to him, him alone really, so the staff really go above and beyond for residents. I know he's well looked after, listened to and the food is great too. SO grateful to all the staff for so many things.

This is our first experience of a care setting for Mum, who has just been in for a spell of respite care at Eothen Care Home in Whitley Bay. The home has a very pleasant atmosphere and Mum has enjoyed her stay and will become a permanent resident shortly. It's a homely place, not clinical and sanitised, though everything is kept clean and tidy. The staff are caring and approachable. Mum has talked about the meals and says the chef is really good. The garden is immaculately kept and a beautiful place for the residents and guests to spend time.

My mother-in-laws experience at Eothen Homes in Whitley Bay has been very positive The accomadation is clean and tidy with all rooms having en suite facilities. The food is good quality with enough Variety. Most importantly, The staff are kind and caring making the stay comfortable with a homely feel to it. We feel that she is in very safe hands.

Greeted with genuine actions. Was taken to where my friend was. We then were offered a small sitting room for our meeting. Offered coffee when they determined I had travelled on two busses and the metro. Had lovely meeting and was invited to have lunch. Met several ladies and had super meal and good company. EXCELLENT

My mum has been a resident at Eothen Care Home, Wallsend for about 1.5 yrs now. She is flourishing in the caring, kind and beautiful environment. The staff all take a lot of time to know mum and they have brought out her sense of humour which is wonderful for us to see. It is such a comfort to know that mum is somewhere that she now feels is home, where she is safe and loved. Thank you to all the carers and management.

She is settled and is happy doing her wordsearch with a cup of tea!!

My Mum has now been in Eothen in Gosforth for 9 months and I feel that I have had sufficient time to judge her experience. I was probably like most people, a little apprehensive about her arrival there but I had no need to be. Over the last 9 months every aspect of her time there has been significantly beyond my expectations. Before my Mum moved in we were looking around and one of the visiting relatives said to us what a fantastic place it is - how right they were. If I were to single out one thing it would be the staff who are outstanding. My Mum lived by herself before Eothen and life in the family was a day to day worry, this dissipated when she moved in as she has been receiving such attentive care. I am just so thankful that my Mum is in Eothen and echo the sentiments that we heard when looking around - what a fantastic place.

Very happy for my mum. She has definitely improved in her mobility since residing in Eothen in Whitley Bay. Eothen is a relatively small care home and the staff are very warm, friendly and patient and the residents seem to be relaxed and happy. The food that I've seen looks delicious, home made and mum enjoys her food. Her safety is paramount and I feel very confident and relieved that she is being given the best care.

The staff are fantastic! They create a warm friendly environment without fail. My Mam is so well looked after. Accomodation is always spotlessly clean. Wonderful variety of food, organised events, so many things day and night to join in with. The gardens are beautifully kept and lots of outside and communal seating. Staff communicate back regularly with updates always keeping us involved with Mams care. They are a credit to your organisation and we can't thank them enough

I am very impressed with Eothen Whitley Bay. Every aspect of the home is excellent, my mom is very happy here. The staff are all amazing and provide first class care.

It's like a home from home! my room, all of the staff and the facilities are excellent! It has turned out to be an excellent decision to move into my new home.

I could not fault the service my mother receives, All the staff are really friendly and genuinely care.

I have sometimes wished the home could take her to the odd appointment. But that's my only minor gripe.

Mams been in care now for 7 months can not fault care home, loverly staff are great, can't do enough for mam, gardens are realy nice take mam out, and around gardens when weather nice, have singers come in for entertainment,

My mother- in-law has recently become a resident at Eothen Homes. The transition to becoming a full time resident has been a pleasure. The staff are caring, professional and most of all supportive. The home is welcoming, clean and the gardens are especially delightful. We have been very impressed with the entire process.

My Mother recently entered the home for a period of respite care and has decided that becoming a resident at the home is the right move for her. She has settled in well and is enjoying her time. The home has a great feel and the staff are excellent.

The Home is amazing and we as a family feel so lucky that we found it for our sister.
