I could not wish for my mum to be in a better care home. She is so well looked after. All the staff are kind, considerate and even in difficult situations I have witnessed how they handle residents with respect and dignity. Can't recommend Eothen highly enough.
The staff are so friendly and caring he's joining in more and so is much more active than when he had carers coming to his home.
The wrap around support connecting to doctors etc, despite him relocating from outside the area has all been handled by Eothen, which was super helpful too.
Many thanks to all the Eothen team
The home is relaxed and cosy. Recent refurbishments have added to the comfortable atmosphere. Being able to independently make a drink and have the option of different lounges to sit in and chat with my friend is greatly appreciated.
Activities for the residents are varied, entertaining and well organised. The gardens are beautiful and a pleasure to sit out in on a sunny day.
The whole place is immaculate, the gardens are stunning and beautifully kept. It's lovely to be able to come in and have a cup of tea and a piece of homemade cake. It is clear the staff work as a team. We and mum could not be happier with our choice!
I always feel that my father is getting the best care at Eothen Gosforth. All the staff are friendly and have the residents best interests at heart. My father really enjoys the meals provided and also enjoys the varied activities available. He particularly enjoys the day trips out.
The staff are highly committed and caring and did everything possible to make my mother welcome: everyone seemed to know her (and us) immediately. Because the home is very relaxed, she has retained a sense of her independence while enjoying a wider range of activities and social interaction than before.
The building is cosy and my Mum has enjoyed getting out in the gardens every day with a member of staff.
She feels at home.
The staff at Eothen (Gosforth) put a lot of effort into making all the residents feel safe and cared for. They are all friendly, caring and create a lovely homely atmosphere. There is an excellent range of activities and residents are encouraged to participate. It gives the family a lot of comfort knowing that J is happy and content in her new home.
She enjoys the choices of food.
I am delighted with the refurbishment carried to the building and particularly enjoy being able to have a cup of coffee with her in the Dining / Lounge rather that sitting on her bed in her room.
I find the staff and managers very approachable and friendly whenever I visit
Following a fall and a stay in hospital, it became clear that my Mam was no longer safe to return to her own home. Finding a care home is a daunting experience, as it's such an important responsibility to choose somewhere she will be safe, happy and well cared for.
From my very first visit, I knew I had found the right place.
She has settled in incredibly well and regularly tells me how happy she is. Her room is comfortable, there's a timetable of activities she can join in with if she wishes, and the food is lovely. The staff are all wonderful - kind, supportive and genuinely caring.
I now have peace of mind knowing she is in a safe and nurturing environment, and I'm very grateful for the excellent care she receives at Eothen Home (Gosforth)
I popped in today (16.12.25) and caught the last part of their Christmas party. The effort made by staff was absolutely outstanding! They were all dressed up, and involved the residents in various activities. It felt like a family party and the residents loved it! It was so nice to see MiL laughing and smiling - she really enjoyed the afternoon. She told me the Christmas lunch was beautiful.
Thank you Team Eothen (Gosforth) - you are all doing an amazing job!
I want to end up in a care home just like this one, the staff are excellent, friendly caring and go above and beyond every single day couldn't say a negative thing about any of them. My father in law is extremely happy there.
Wonderful care home. Our Mam has settled in and made friends straight away and feels safe and happy and is enjoying her food again. Two weeks respite has now turned into full time care on her insistence. Thanks to all the staff and carers in Eothan House in Gosforth .
I placed my auntie into the care of eothen earlier in the year because she was no longer managing at home on her own, since she has arrived into eothen in gosforth she has never been as happy the staff are amazing she absolutely loves it I wish I had done it sooner rather than her struggling at home for the last few years, she is happy well looked after and like I say I cannot praise all of the staff and management enough for the care they are giving her
What a lovely place! I cannot speak too highly of all of the staff, who all find time to say hello, are totally focussed on the residents, and have the highest standards of care. All of the people there are very content, there is plenty of choice of things to do. The gardens are particularly beautiful and very well maintained.
My mother moved into Gosforth Eothen permanently a few weeks ago and is settling in well. She'd previously been in for a respite visit last year and had enjoyed it. The home itself is very warm and comfortable with beautiful gardens. The food is lovely, always fresh and healthy with good choices available. There are daily activities for the residents arranged by a lovely lady called Chris. She clearly loves her job and it shows. All of the staff are extremely caring, kind and patient. They really take the time to listen and do whatever they can to help and support the residents, as well as the families. We are confident that my mother is being well cared and the staff have definitely helped us feel happier about this transition.
The Eothen staff at Gosforth provide top class professional service and as I live over 5 hours away I rely on them for communication with me on all matters related to my mother who is a resident, they do this and communicate excellently and efficiently. This gives me peace of mind and the knowledge that Mum is in the best place she can be, big thank you to All the staff
What a lovely home. The managers and admin team have been amazingly understanding and super efficient in what has been a difficult time for both mum and ourselves. Mum's move was fast and fuss free. The home itself is lovely and the care team have, without exception, been kind, empathetic and caring; helping mum to move into her new home with understanding and patience. The home really feels like a big family. Mum is already settling in and is beginning to find her way around with the help of both staff and residents. We have been delighted with everything so far and would like to express our heartfelt thanks to this lovely team.
Job nothing is to much trouble and always delivered with a smile he's enjoying life again and we have peace of mind he is in safe hands.
Louise, the manager is approachable and professional and her team provide really personalised care.
On dad's first day there the staff arranged for mam & dad to have lunch together in the family lounge / dining room, which they both appreciated so much.
The activities coordinator is fantastic, she really encourages everyone to take part, with a range of activities.
The food is home cooked, of really good quality, with lovely home made bite size treats offered mid morning & afternoon.
The rooms are spacious and the home is clean & comfortable, with beautiful grounds, full of colour.
There is a warm and friendly atmosphere in Eothen, which provides great comfort to the residents and their relatives.
As one resident said to me, there may be homes that are fancier and more modern but you won't beat Eothen for the friendly atmosphere and quality of care
