1. We visited my aunt Mrs R her bedroom lock on the door was broken, and hanging at an angle on her bedroom door.

2. She has her own wheelchair, when we have visited in the past, some other patient was using it. The staff returned it too us, but it was very dirty.

Reply from Shirley Curle, Care Home Manager at Georgia Park Care Home

I have spoken to our maintenance man about the lock on the door. Your aunt cannot use the lock but this should have been fixed for aesthetic purposes. I will speak to the staff about ensuring your aunt's wheelchair remains vacant for her use only and that if noticed to be dirty this should be...

My mum has only been at Duncraggan since April this year, but she has settled in really well.
The staff are lovely, kind, and welcoming, which made a big difference during what could have been a difficult transition. It's reassuring to see how comfortable and happy she seems, and that she's being well looked after.

So far, we've had no issues at all, and I feel confident that she's in good hands

My father has always said he would never go into a care home however due to a deterioration in his health this became a necessity. He has very quickly settled in and is very content living in Duncraggan. The staff are all lovely and make a lot of effort to enable him to join in all the activities and he is really enjoying this. He has nothing but praise for the staff and he always looks well cared for when we are visiting. The facade and grounds of the building look a bit tired however it's people over premises that matters most. The new activities co-ordinator is making a difference in providing enriching daily activities

I feel that the Lomand unit is a pleasant environment for the residents. The staff seem to do a good job and are very approachable. The residents are well fed with a choice of meals. The entertainment seems to be very good and both the residents and staff mix very well when they take place.

Overall Experience

Pleased that the home has a fairly settled staff team who have great relationships with the residents and work hard to meet peoples needs. Introduction of activity co-ordinator has been beneficial. Staff and management approachable and open to discussing any concerns. Pleased that my Mum is settled in the home. Investment is needed to upgrade many areas as the decor, flooring and communal area looks tired and a commitment to improving the home would provide a nicer environment for the residents . Good communication from staff about key information relating to my family member.

A very welcoming management, staff and home. We feel confident that any problems or questions we encounter are answered and dealt with appropriately. We feel reassured that our relative is being treated with care and dignity plus respect. Genuinely feel staff know residents well and treat them as individuals with varying needs and own personalities. Feel too that staff are aware of the pressures on families with relative in care and where needed support them too. Our relative has benefitted from the rather sedentary lifestyle the led by moving to this home and spending time with other residents and joining in sing-a-longs and chair bean bag games (organised by staff). We were very hesitant about placing our relative in a care home. However the peace of mind we've found since finding Ryan Meadows makes us very grateful!.

My Aunt was very well cared for by all the staff at Duncraggan. Also, no matter how big or small the issue was, the staff would always call me to notify me of any concerns. Every time I visited the home, Norma was very well presented.

Overall Experience
My mother was transferred from another care home in Johnstone Renfrewshire where she was staying in her room almost every day for nearly a year.
I managed to get her moved to a more suitable care home near where I live and Duncraggan was ideal for her needs.
She's been there since late August 2025 and has been enjoying the facilities of the care home and its staff since day one.
She's never in her room unless she's going to bed at night.
The almost instant change in her appearance and her personality has been fantastic. Absolutely fantastic.
The staff are outstanding and it always has a very pleasant atmosphere.

You know its a good place when you can see so many other residents looking happy and content.

I would just like to thank all staff at the care home including cleaners cooks my mum was involved in a bad accident which was caused by someone else but would like to say that the care she got when she came out of hospital was second to none from being told she might not survive an operation to finding her dancing and singing in her room was fantastic and that was was down to the love and care she got of everyone in the home if you are looking for a home for a family member please give this home a visit again I would just like to say thank you to everyone

Review of Ryan Meadows from G M (Relative of Resident) published on 15 September 2025 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

I feel sick in my stomach when I visit due to the awful smell in the corridors. I went to the pantry to get a cup for my relative, and the smell was worse, as if something had died there. I'm sure the staff do what they can, but it has a depressive atmosphere. Sometimes my relatives' toilet seat wasn't clean. I'm not sure I can visit any longer due to the smell. Hoping my relative can be shifted to another care home. Some staff have been very attentive to my relative, although some are perhaps less enthusiastic.

My dad arrived at Dunvegan after 3 months in hospital from having a fall. From day 1 his well-being improved and has continued to improve. With his dementia it's good days and bad days but I'm very happy with the care and support he is receiving from Dunvegan staff. Dunvegan has a homely feel to it which my wife and noticed on initial visit, something other care homes in the area simply don't have.

Review of Dunvegan Lodge Care Home from Graham M (Son of Resident) published on 9 May 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Mum has been at Dunvegan for coming on 6 months. I cannot rate it highly enough. There was a great 'on-boarding' where the staff asked about and got to understand Mum. She is now comfortable, safe and cared for and enjoys the company in the lounge. The food is well-cooked and generous. I have enjoyed a couple of sing-a-longs in the lounge and appreciated the efforts made to keep folk entertained. They partner with GP practice, and the resultant medical care is much better than Mum had at home.

Above all, the staff are - without exception - attentive, caring, patient and considerate.

It was really difficult to take the decision that, Mum was no longer safe in her own home, but I am so grateful that she is being so well looked after by the lovely team at Dunvegan

My overall experience of Ryan Meadows is excellent. I find all of the staff very welcoming and approachable at any time. My parent is always content, clean and tidy. Their bedroom does need to be freshened up, which will be reviewed in time. The main thing for me is its spotlessness. This applies to the reception area, corridors, lifts, etc... The housekeeping staff do a wonderful job. I would definitely recommend Ryan Meadows.

My mum had been a resident in Dunvegan Lodge for 6 months now and the staff are absolutely incredible. They care for the residents with dignity and respect in what can be a very challenging environment due to residents with dementia and other health conditions. The manager is always available if you have a query or just want a chat.

We only have one reservation that we wish my mum could be included in any future outings days out etc as we feel this could lift her spirits from routine day to day living as this would give her a feeling of inclusion with fellow residents.
