I feel sick in my stomach when I visit due to the awful smell in the corridors. I went to the pantry to get a cup for my relative, and the smell was worse, as if something had died there. I'm sure the staff do what they can, but it has a depressive atmosphere. Sometimes my relatives' toilet seat wasn't
clean. I'm not sure I can visit any longer due to the smell. Hoping my relative can be shifted to another care home. Some staff have been very attentive to my relative, although some are perhaps less enthusiastic.

I always praise this home and to day I i still do but i need to let people know about what happened to my mum 2 weeks ago i got a phone call to say that they were waiting on an ambulance for my mum my self and sisters thought that mum had fallen it was not till the next day that we found out that mum
was attacked by another resident who knows what she is doing and told the staff that she did it we were told that mum was going for surgery as this person broke my mum's hip and they told us that there was a90% chance that she would not make it that was tough for us waiting on a phone call to let us know that mum made it anyway i can't fault the home the people i do blame are the social services as we had to move mum into the main house because they said this person can't be moved and now my mum is in a room upstairs waiting for someone to die down stairs so she can get the room and this person is walking away as if nothing has happened as say my mum can't get around very well just now

My dad arrived at Dunvegan after 3 months in hospital from having a fall. From day 1 his well-being improved and has continued to improve. With his dementia it's good days and bad days but I'm very happy with the care and support he is receiving from Dunvegan staff. Dunvegan has a homely feel to it
which my wife and noticed on initial visit, something other care homes in the area simply don't have.

Mum has been at Dunvegan for coming on 6 months. I cannot rate it highly enough. There was a great 'on-boarding' where the staff asked about and got to understand Mum. She is now comfortable, safe and cared for and enjoys the company in the lounge. The food is well-cooked and generous. I have enjoyed
a couple of sing-a-longs in the lounge and appreciated the efforts made to keep folk entertained. They partner with GP practice, and the resultant medical care is much better than Mum had at home.

Above all, the staff are - without exception - attentive, caring, patient and considerate.
It was really difficult to take the decision that, Mum was no longer safe in her own home, but I am so grateful that she is being so well looked after by the lovely team at Dunvegan

My overall experience of Ryan Meadows is excellent. I find all of the staff very welcoming and approachable at any time. My parent is always content, clean and tidy. Their bedroom does need to be freshened up, which will be reviewed in time. The main thing for me is its spotlessness. This applies to
the reception area, corridors, lifts, etc... The housekeeping staff do a wonderful job. I would definitely recommend Ryan Meadows.

I am generally very happy with the care of my Mother. Her room is clean, the staff are friendly and activities are excellent. Almost all staff are helpful and kind to relatives, this really helps especially when your relative first enters a care home. Communication can be an issue. I have twice attended
a relative meeting which was cancelled, but I hadn't been informed. It can be frustrating when you have a concern and have to talk to staff on different shifts. The information doesn't seem really helpful. The staff photos of those in charge would also be helpful. Some staff are absolutely fabulous. I am thankful for all they do.
Reply from Cassie Dunbar, Marketing coordinator at Ryan Meadows

Thank you for sharing your thoughts about your mother's care. We're delighted that you've been happy with the friendliness and dedication of our staff. We understand how crucial clear and consistent communication can be, and we're sorry if you've felt it hasn't always met your expectations. We'll certainly look into our processes to ensure you receive regular updates about your mother's well-being. We also appreciate your suggestion for more varied entertainment and activities, and we'll keep this in mind as we organise future programmes for our residents. Georgia Park Care Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Our father moved into Georgia Park around 6 months ago. As a family we chose Georgia Park due to word of mouth, past experience with another close family member and proximity. Naturally, it took a while for dad to adjust to his new home however he is now fully settled which gives us all comfort and
peace of mind. The staff, some of which have been with Georgia Park for years are all very friendly and accommodating. Although dad prefers his own company a lot of the time he is actively encouraged to participate in activities and entertainment available. He thoroughly enjoys the food and has gained some much needed weight. There is good communication from the management on relevant information and any issues that have arisen have been quickly rectified. Overall, we are very pleased with the level of care our father receives. The only negative aspect would be that some of the corridors, particularly the flooring is in need of a refresh.
Reply from Shirley Curle, Care Home Manager at Georgia Park Care Home

My dad was transferred here after a lengthy spell in hospital due to his ever increasing dementia. I had visited the home the day before his intended transfer to put some familiar items in place for him, then he was unexpectedly re admitted to A and E this delayed his arrival here for a week, this was
not a problem to the care home and his room was kept for him. On his arrival at the home it was just amazing, every member of staff is lovely, they really do care about their residents, nothing is any trouble. The home itself is well maintained, kept spotlessly clean, warm and homely. I am so glad my dad is being looked after here 10 out of 10!

My mother moved in on March 2024 due to her requiring full time care. She was local to the home so this made it easier for friends and family to visit, some of the care workers knew her personally so this was also a benefit. She was a bit confused at first with her new surrounding's but the care workers
showed experience in getting her settled in. She tells me everything and all the care workers are good. She is always in the lounge area with fellow residents which is good for her. The nurse always contacts myself with any medical updates and permission for any injections my mother may require. They have entertainment shows which helps her as she likes a good singsong. The food always looks good anytime I visit and there's always tea and cake whenever she likes. She has her hair done most weeks and always looks tidy and clean. Its getting harder for the care workers to move my mother as they need two people due to her physical disabilities but they always seem to cope.

My Dad stayed for a few days as my Mum needed a wee break and Dunvegan was local. Almost instantly my Dad seemed at home thanks to the friendly and understanding nature of the staff. He was in his element and I can’t thank them enough for their care and compassion towards him. He enjoyed the food (despite
being a fussy eater!), participated in the activities and had a relaxing time.
I can’t speak highly enough for the level of care he received and the staff were all friendly and took great care of the residents there when I was visiting. There was a nice atmosphere and if you are looking at the care home for an elderly relative I can thoroughly recommend it.
