Overall we are happy with the care home. The staff are very welcoming to visitors and are always kind to Dad. His personal hygiene is much improved since moving to the home. It would be nice if the main lounge was a bit bigger as it can get quite crowded and maybe have a film showing instead of daytime
television. The activities coordinator is very good but for the number of residents, I think there should be more than one person doing the job. Also, it would be nice if the care home had a bus to take the residents on trips.
The staff work incredibly hard but always have a smile. Dad enjoys the food and there is always hot and cold drinks available along with a biscuit. Since being at Astley, Dad has had an eye test, haircuts and his toenails down by a podiatrist.
The care home keep you in touch with any news relating to your relative le vaccinations, change to medicine etc.

This is a very welcoming home - staff have just been wonderful at helping to support my mum with her daily needs - they know her well. The management ant the home are wonderful and have created such a warm and caring ethos. They have also been a great support to me and I have peace of mind knowing my
mum is well looked after there, when I have to be at work. It is like being part of a big family. Thank you for all your hard work.

My Mum has been in Astley House for 5 years and is well known to the staff who are always helpful and caring. I am always informed if there are any health issues or if she has had a fall. She is now eating well and enjoying the food. Her room is always clean and tidy as is the ensuite shower room. She
has a lovely view of the garden and her room is bright and sunny. There are plenty of activities going on with musical entertainers visiting the home on a regular basis. I enjoy the newsletter from the home which keeps me up to date with all that is going on. My Mum enjoys her cups of tea and the cakes especially. Birthday cakes are made by the chef whenever it's someone's birthday which is a nice thought.

My dad has been a resident in Astley House for four years. I am very happy with the care and attention he receives from all the friendly and attentive staff. The staff all have demanding jobs, caring and supporting the residents, many who have dementia, not a condition that is easy to deal with. My
dad is settled and safe in his surroundings. That gives me peace of mind that he is well looked after, especially when I am abroad on holiday or when I am recovering after an operation. I appreciate the social media posts and contact from staff that keep me up to date in between visits.

Astley House is great. My dad moved in after a spell in hospital and the staff have been wonderful and caring. It's the people that make Astley House and they really do care. My dad loves the food and the lovely views of the golf course and beach. He is treated with dignity and respect and the management
are always on top of any issues.

Astley House has a very welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. My father has been at Astley House for nearly a year. I live in America so it is vital for me that his care is good. The staff feel like family -- we keep in close video contact and I am beyond thankful their kindness and understanding. The attention they give to my father's physical and emotional needs

I cannot recommend Astley Care Home highly enough. From the moment you walk through the doors, you are met with warmth, professionalism, and a genuine sense of care. I am extremely happy with the care my husband is receiving in Astley House. The staff are all very friendly and cheerful despite having a very demanding job caring for residents, many with dementia like my husband. They always treat him with respect and speak directly to him in a calm and supportive
manner, helping when require but also encouraging him to be as independent as possible. They are always well informed about how he has slept, eaten or his level of activity (walking). Both staff and management have been very supportive to me and family members when visiting. The home is always very clean, no unpleasant smells, residents are encouraged to be as active as suitable, going out into the garden in good weather. A variety of good food is provided with choices. I have complete confidence that my husband is receiving the best care in Astley House.

Amazingly managed. The managers & staff have my parents-in-law's best interests as their focus at all times. Home baking, snacks, coffee, tea and juice on the go all the time. Friendly, chatty staff. Great activities, also constantly on the go. The wider family all enjoy the social media posts and being

Mum has been a resident for the past 12 months I find the managers and staff really approachable and friendly Mum's care has been very good there is a lovely atmosphere in the home it is always clean and tidy we feel we made the right decision for mum placing her at Astley House she has come on a lot
with the care of the staff and she is settled and safe, managers are always happy to help and advise if needed and the lady is so helpful with the financial side

My father has been a resident at Astley House since October 2023. He is well looked after by warm and caring staff. It may not be the fanciest building, but the atmosphere is friendly and staff get to know residents and their relatives. Communication is very good, with frequent calls to keep us informed
of any concerns. My father's room is bright and spacious and there are a number of public rooms, which gives us the option to share time with him on our own while having a coffee. We are very happy with our choice of Astley House.

Staff at Astley House are the most caring people, always ready to help if asked a question. The bedroom room was always clean and tidy. Relative was always clean and tidy. Food was good. The staff were always cheery.
They could not have done any more to make my relative comfortable, he was so well

Beware this company includes interest monthly after your loved one passes away. If you have a solicitor it can take up to 6-9 months or longer to complete their estate. My experience was terrible from the start, bullying from day one and the level of care was not satisfactory.

Unfortunately, when a loved one passes, there is nothing that we can do about the length of time it takes to settle an estate, and that is why we have a contract with the resident and/or their relative or guardian, to ensure that everything is carried out in accordance with the National Care Contract.
With regards to the Care in the home, our grades with the Care Inspectorate are at Very Good, and are a reflection of the care delivered in the home
