Although the building is pretty basic, it has everything the residence need. It's kept very clean and never smells bad. The residents washing is done every day and the correct clothing is returned to their rooms. The home-cooked food is very good and plenty of it. The staff are very helpful, very friendly and very caring to the residence. I have noticed that the Home manages to keep the same staff which is good for the residence of the continuity of care. My only criticism is the communal area is far too small and quiet room is needed on the downstairs floor

We are happy with the care and support our 98 year old Mother receives at Birchwood Grove Care Home. The staff are kind, caring, patient, and always treat her with dignity, respect and compassion. The staff are friendly towards my Sister, Brother and I when we visit. The home provides activities, Summer barbeques, Birthday / Christmas celebrations, which includes a visit from Santa Claus.

The staff at Astergrove are amazing. They looked after my father for the last few months of his life with such care ad dignity. As a family we were always welcomed into the home and enjoyed their social events. The whole team should be proud of the care ad compassion they give to their residents ad their families. Highly recommend.

On my weekly visits I always find the home clean and tidy and my wife clean and well kempt.

My uncle has been living here for quite some time now, and we couldn't be happier with the care he receives. He is very happy and has settled in so well, which gives me great peace of mind. The staff are always friendly, kind and incredibly helpful. They go above and beyond in looking after residents, even helping my uncle with practical things such as getting new clothes when needed. His health and wellbeing are very well cared for, and the staff are always considerate and compassionate in their approach. After hearing so many horror stories about other nursing homes, we feel extremely lucky that my uncle is here. It is clear that the team genuinely cares about the residents and treats them with dignity and respect. We are very grateful for everything they do and would highly recommend this nursing home to others.

My husband has been a resident at Ashdown for 13 months. We have both always been treated with love, kindness, care, compassion and professionalism by ALL the staff. Nothing is to much trouble, you only have to ask. They are always there with a welcome and a smileand a hug when you need one. Ashdown are "Simply the Best" with the biggest warmest heart! We are so happy to be placed here.

Mum has been in Ashdown for 3 and a half years now . This is an amazing home the staff are so good and caring . Outstanding to be honest. The manager is very understanding and help full . All ways listen s . The medical team are great to . . From experience i know not all homes are equal. . I can sleep easy knowing . My mother is being looked after she the most important person to me ..so thank you to everyone for your care

I would not recommend this care home......

The carers brought trays of food to him when they put him to bed and the manager told me he is not having food as he would choke they would have feed him if l hadn't been there.

My husband is so happy she is staying with such warm compassionate and caring people.she is very happy there and that's what matters most ..but she wouldn't be if it wasn't for these lovely individuals. Merle and her team do an amazing job day in day out and we cannot thank them enough ..Once again heartfelt thanks x

Dad was one of the first residents at Aster Grove when they opened in 2022. The care and attention they provide is exceptional. The Home is welcoming, clean and nicely decorated. Whenever we visited, we were made to feel most welcome. The range of activities they provide and facilities are extensive. Friends and family are invited to join their loved ones for a Summer BBQ and Xmas Party. The food and entertainment make it a most enjoyable day out. Management are approachable, informative and friendly. Thank you so much.

Making the decision for my mum to become a full time resident with Aster grove was one of the most difficult decisions I've had to make. I did not believe anyone could take care of her as well as I did. I was very wrong. The staff at Aster grove are exceptional and my mum although bed bound has improved in many ways. When ever I visit she is smiley, stimulated, clean and very comfortable. Music can be heard from the corridors creating a relaxing and homely environment, the staff interact with her in the most natural and loveliest of ways. I have complete peace of mind that she is safe and cared for in the best possible way. Peace of mind is invaluable and I am extremely grateful for all the staff who care for my mum 24/7. I would and do recommend anyone struggling to make a decision about full time care for someone who has dementia to consider and visit this nursing home. A home from home family space to be.

Mum spent her last few months at Ashdown when her private funds ran out and another setting told us we needed to move her! Thankfully she was moved to Ashdown which is not as 'snazzy' but very homely, very clean, and the staff are lovely. When she passed away at the end of Jan 26, they were so caring with me. It really helped a lot. So I want to say 'thankyou' for the lovely staff.

Always a lovely environment, staff are happy and smiley. Always happy to assist with any questions or requests. Excellent entertainment, with residents, staff and family gladly joining in. A happy home!

We've had and continue to have a very positive experience here. The staff have always been incredibly compassionate towards our family situation and its so reassuring to know how well our mum is being care for. The staff are incredibly friendly and I love how they celebrate the resident on their birthdays etc, as well as get on so well as collegues too!

- Rooms are well spacy, all departmental staff are very willing to help, and admin. Food is amazing, timing is so well to. Seen some of the staff spend time according to residents pace, mean no rush at all. I really appreciate every single person, great effort to make resident daily living needs meeting so well.

It's always a lovely experience to visit my father, as all the staff are always very welcoming and ever so friendly.

The Christmas party today is great atmosphere, and all the residents are having a good time.
