My uncle has been living here for quite some time now, and we couldn't be happier with the care he receives. He is very happy and has settled in so well, which gives me great peace of mind. The staff are always friendly, kind and incredibly helpful. They go above and beyond in looking after residents, even helping my uncle with practical things such as getting new clothes when needed. His health and wellbeing are very well cared for, and the staff are always considerate and compassionate in their approach. After hearing so many horror stories about other nursing homes, we feel extremely lucky that my uncle is here. It is clear that the team genuinely cares about the residents and treats them with dignity and respect. We are very grateful for everything they do and would highly recommend this nursing home to others.

In my personal experience the End of life care was terrible. Staff did not know what they were doing in the week leading upto dad's end of life... Nurses with no idea and asking me what shall we do? Not even a call from the manager when my father passed offering her condolences. Sorry 1 star is to...
Overall...... Disappointed and upset as a family? We expected more respect for a dying man.
I would not recommend this care home......

Firstly, we would like to extend our sincere condolences to you and your family on the loss of your father. We are genuinely sorry that your experience left you feeling disappointed. We recognise that the loss of a loved one is an extremely emotional time, and we respect your right to share your experience.
Your father was a valued resident of Ashdown for over three years, during which time we were privileged to care for him. Throughout that period, your family remained actively involved in his care, and we appreciate the trust you placed in us.
We are concerned by the suggestion that members of our staff have posted positive reviews to influence our ratings. This is simply not true, and we strongly refute that allegation. Genuine feedback, whether positive or negative, is important to us, and we would never seek to misrepresent the experiences of residents or their families.
I do not recommend this home at all my husband had an awful end of life at this home. We went to see my husband on the Thursday end of June and he was shaking profusely and the sweat was pouring off him with no fans going at all he stood out from the other residents we got there l said is nobody...
The nurses did not know what to do with him they were asking me what they should do very inexperienced l don't even know what qualifications they have.
In the end my dear husband passed away.
The carers brought trays of food to him when they put him to bed and the manager told me he is not having food as he would choke they would have feed him if l hadn't been there.

Great staff, very professional, caring, clean and tidy, good food and a welcoming environment. We really enjoyed our visits, and the team really looked after my mum in her final moments. Thank you.

Mum spent her last few months at Ashdown when her private funds ran out and another setting told us we needed to move her! Thankfully she was moved to Ashdown which is not as 'snazzy' but very homely, very clean, and the staff are lovely. When she passed away at the end of Jan 26, they were so caring with me. It really helped a lot. So I want to say 'thankyou' for the lovely staff.
Always a lovely environment, staff are happy and smiley. Always happy to assist with any questions or requests. Excellent entertainment, with residents, staff and family gladly joining in. A happy home!

Overall I think Ashdown is a very well run establishment. The staff are attentive and caring and very pleasant & helpful whenever I visit allowing me flexibility in visiting times. I've been kept informed of my mothers health issues with phone calls whenever necessary. Most importantly my mother is generally very happy. Obviously the most important factor.

I have noticed that all the staff here have been very helpful and professional. Everyone here has a lot to do everyday, but still staff here look happy as well. My mum has been well taken care of and looks to be fairly content, on each occasion I have been able to visit.
