My contact with Coote Lane Residential Home, so far, has been to review the home on my own with a view to my mother having respite care initially; my mother was the able to go for lunch which she has done. My experience on both occasions is overwhelmingly positive, we were met with such a warm welcome
it has helped to reassure me for the decision that needs to be taken. This is the only residential facility I have visited to date where I feel confident my mother will been looked after properly.
Thank you to all concerned. The only reason I have given 3 stars for the activity criteria is that I believe there to be a good range but have not had the opportunity to observe this. I thought the Care Manager was outstanding.
Reply from Victoria Wilson, Manager at Coote Lane Residential HomeThank you so much for your thoughtful and heartfelt review. We are delighted to hear that both of your visits to Coote Lane Residential Home have been such positive experiences, and that the warm welcome you and your mother received helped provide reassurance at what we understand is a very important decision for your family. It means a great deal to know that you feel confident in the care and support we provide, and we are especially pleased that your mother enjoyed joining us for lunch. Our team is committed to making every visitor and resident feel comfortable, valued, and well looked after, so your kind words will be greatly appreciated by everyone involved. Thank you also for your feedback regarding activities. We always welcome constructive comments, as they help us continue to improve the experience we provide for all residents. With best wishes,

I can not thank the entire staff of Coote Lane enough for looking after my dad Jimmy during the three years he was there. I'm still coming to terms with his recent death at a tad short of his 102 birthday but I will be forever grateful for the outstanding care he received whilst he was there. I got
to share the lives of many of the staff there, from engagements, weddings and even births which seemed to make Coote Lane more homely and always a pleasure to visit. Jimmy was not always in the same "24hrs" as everyone else but the staff would always inform me when he was up so I would shoot down to visit and I was always offered a cuppa no matter the time of day or night, they went above and beyond and they would always offer me a cuddle to cheer me up particularly towards the end even when I didn't realise I needed one. Thank you Coote Lane, I couldn't of chosen a better place .

I feel the relatively small size of the home helps to provide a more personal approach to providing care to the residents. There is a good friendly atmosphere in the home which is good for both residents and visitors. Mum took time to settle which is what I expected but after recent stays in hospital
Mum now seems happy to be going back to Coote Lane. Vicky has been very good in helping Dad to join Mum at Coote Lane and in taking a keen interest to help him settle. Overall I feel Coote Lane would compare favourably to other care homes in the locality.
Reply from Victoria Wilson, Manager at Coote Lane Residential HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughtful and detailed feedback.
We're delighted to hear that the smaller, more personal environment has had a positive impact and that you've found the atmosphere to be friendly and welcoming for both residents and visitors. We understand that settling in can take time, especially following hospital stays, so it's wonderful to know that your mum now feels happy returning.
Your kind words about the support provided to both your mum and dad, and the effort taken to help them settle together, mean a great deal to us. Our team is committed to taking a genuine interest in every resident and their family, and it's reassuring to hear that this has been felt.
Thank you again for your recommendation and for trusting us with your parents' care. Your feedback is truly appreciated and motivates us to continue providing the best possible support.

I cannot thank the staff enough for looking after mum, she has been at Coote Lane for seven years now and is sadly bedbound but the care is wonderful nothing is too much trouble. The staff are very approachable and you can visit anytime you like, no need to make an appointment. The food is good and
there are always choices at meal times to. My coffee during my visits is much appreciated, thanks again I highly recommend this lovely care home.

I think it is a very well run care home. The staff are attentive and friendly, they always offer to make a cup of tea when we visit. The manager is also friendly and accessible. I have had had several useful chats with her. The home is clean and the food is good. The staff also offer reasonably regular
activities for the residents.

Generally good, staff are friendly and always seem smiley and welcoming. It would be nice if there were more activities arranged for residents and days out if possible. Family are always made to feel welcome and the fact that dogs can come into the home and mums room is very much appreciated

The place is always clean and the staff are always friendly and helpful. If my mum needs anything they see to it as promptly as possible.
I feel I can go to work knowing that my mum is looked after. It will never be her home but in my opinion it was close as possible for the needs she has.

My mother has recently stayed at Coote Lane Residential Home for two weeks respite care whilst we attended a family wedding abroad.
I was initially worried about placing her in a home but having visited the home with my mother prior to admission all fears were abated.
The home was clean and spacious
and set in beautiful surroundings. The bedroom was a good size and well equipped.
The manager and all the staff we came into contact with were absolutely lovely and very accommodating to our personal requests. We visited my mother twice before we actually left for the wedding and I could see she was well looked after and happy which put my mind at rest and enabled me to enjoy my sons wedding.
Since returning home my mother has praised the kindest of the staff and the quality and quantity of the food. She even made some friends in her short stay and said she would like to go back and visit them.
I would definitely choose this home in the future if the need arose.

I arrived from hospital where I had been treated following a fall when I fractured my hip, I was poorly and unable to walk, on arrival. Here I received help and encouragement. The initial stages were difficult but with help, encouragement and determination I was enabled to walk unaided. As a results
of the kindness and help of the team I am now able to return to my home which was initially deemed inadvisable.

My Mother has settled well in the short time she has been at Swillbrook. She was recovering from sepsis and was quite poorly and had been bedbound for 6 weeks. Within 2 weeks Mum was eating better, was dressed in the lounge and communicated much better. In fact, Mum's recovery was quite remarkable,
thanks to the management and staff's support. Mum has resided in 4 other care homes to date and Swillbrook far surpasses all of them. Mum is well cared for on all levels and the care home is always welcoming and has a great vibe. The residents are treated with dignity and respect. I couldn't want for a better place for Mum and wouldn't hesitate recommending them!
