Care Homes Owned by Place Farm House Residential Home Ltd

I have been coming to The Shelley for respite care on a regular basis since before the pandemic. I know that I will be well taken care of by the lovely staff. The activities provide an additional interest & the food is always tasty & well presented.

As a family visitor, I have always been received well, & have had the impression that the care staff enjoy their job & get along with eachother, which is good to see. I would (& do) recommend The Shelley to anyone considering a placement.

Place Farm House is a lovely, homely, small care home with a family feel about it. The staff are wonderful, caring beyond the call of duty, cheerful, hard-working, and genuinely kind to the residents and their families. My mother's safety and well-being is never forgotten, and staff and management do their best to cater for her specific needs.

Although only at Place Farm for a short (respite) stay I was immediately welcomed. There is a very happy atmosphere. One could join in any group activities, morning, afternoon or just do your own thing. (Plenty of books to read) Based on my own (short) experience I would recommend Place Farm House.

Shelley love it home from home its getting to be home and family. Thats the trouble its so good I dont want to leave. But I'l await my time to ride the westbound, no not yet. Gotta get back a that old lonesome highway that is my life. The people really do care, they're for real thats what makes it such a lovely place. You folks really do know how to put a team together. People, people, people, that what its all about. I kinda dread leaving but I gotta go. At least I'm beginning to feel strong enough to go. Fantastic. Thanks thanks thanks.

Mum was booked for a stay at The Shelley while renovations were done at home. Unfortunately, a spell in hospital became necessary at a similar time. The Shelley was brilliant about rearranging her stay and coordinating with the hospital about her eventual discharge time. The staff were friendly and polite, attentive and reactive to her needs, and I was confident she was being well looked after. The weekly menu was full of things she liked, and she often had difficulty deciding between the options available. Her stay was just the stepping stone Mum needed to get her back into her own home. I'd thoroughly recommend The Shelley Care Home.

I must commed all of the staff at The Shelley. My mother came into the home a very nervous 97 year old lady. A lot of extra time was taken by all members of staff at the house to ensure she was encouraged and included in all of the activities that go on. The care is first rate and she has settled in very well. The home has managed very well with the very hot weather and made sure that everyone has been constantly hydrated. Thank you all.

Dad was originally admitted for 2 weeks' respite. However, from our first viewing, he fell in love with the home and all the staff. So he decided to stay. Dad and all of his family were made to feel welcome whenever we visited. He was very proud to be asked to be a 'buddy' for all new residents and took the role to heart. The activities team were amazing, I don't think Dad's ever taken part in so much: bingo, quizzes, etc. He loved his room and all amenities that Place Farm House offer. Sadfly due to declining health Dad had to leave for a nursing home. We will always be grateful to everyone at PFH for loving Dad as they did.

The care my dad received was 1st class. The staff were all extremely friendly and professional. The home always clean and tidy. Dad was very happy and was very sad to leave.

I've been visiting a dear friend of mine for the last 3 1/2 years. I'm not direct family, hence cannot comment on value for money below as her family deal with that. The building is beautiful - I love the grandeur of the chandeliers and classic furniture, it feels like a 'home' what really makes it though is the staff, the is practically zero turnover. They are all very caring, patient and are always smiling. The have treated my 98 yr old friend with kindness and dignity. There have been times when she has been very poorly, sick, diarrhoea and their empathy, kindness and dedication has really shone through. I'm still far too young, but if I had to go into a residential home. I'd happily move in there. The menu is superb. Credit to the staff. Well led from management down.

The staff cared for my husband in so many ways with patience and kindness. They welcomed him when he arrived beautifully and made him very welcome.

My mother was resident for nearly 3 years at The Shelley, and the care and compassion she was shown was fantastic. My mother regularly told me how she felt cared for and loved. The care dignity and attention to detail was of a high standard and the activities also helped keep my mum engaged

Food was fantastic and staff were friendly personable and attentive

When my mum went into end of life care, the care and compassion was second to none - both my mum and my family were supported in such a way that was incredibly moving.

My mum has been very happy and all staff are extremely helpful and have a great sense of humour. Quality of care excellent. Lovely, bright and spacious with lovely grounds. Food excellent. She is very well looked after.

Place Farm House is a very clean and well-maintained home, the staff are helpful and are very engaging with all of the residents, the activities that are provided daily are great and prevent any boredom, the residents always have a smile on their faces and are up for a chat, the choice of food is exceptional and the quality.

All carers excellent. Shelley very very comfortable. Food excellent actactives are enjoyable. Going home from a long respite, I want to take the chef's with me. Felt safe.

I visited a resident in the home, my initial impression was that the home was stunning in its style and cleanliness, it looked like a 5 star hotel. There were plenty of helpful and friendly staff and all the residents were engaged in a dance session, it was lovely to see everyone happy and so engaged. I was soon offered refreshments by the staff, which were all homemade and tasted lovely together with a freshly ground coffee. The atmosphere was extremely relaxed. I have visited many care homes in the past, and can honestly say I have never seen such a beautiful, well run home, it was refreshing and restored my faith in care homes.My friend is thriving and always speaks highly of the home and all the staff

We were recommended Place Farm and we are so pleased we were! My friend has been in the home since Sept and is settling in very well. As she was in a home that wasn't right for her needs. All the staff have been great and kind with helping her to settle in as it was a very stressful and anxious time. The staff have got to know her so well so fast. It's a beautiful home and very homely and all the staff I've met nothing is too much when asked. I hope my friend will have many years living in this lovely home.

The Shelley is warm and welcoming. I stayed for a week after surgery and was very impressed. The staff are lovely, happy and friendly and the food is excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. Would certainly be happy to return.

The Shelley has the most caring staff who all go above and beyond their daily duties. All get to know the residents personally and their families and make them feel at home and valued. I can't praise them highly enough. Both my parents have enjoyed living there and all their changing needs have been met with kindness and understanding. The home itself is very comfortable, incredibly clean and very tastefully decorated and is like a boutique hotel. The residents are offered activities twice a day from excellent staff who plan everything to be interesting to the age group and each individual. Two chefs provide nutritious and very tasty food daily. I definitely recommend The Shelley.
