From the moment we walked through the door, we knew Benholm would be an ideal home for mum to settle into. The building is light, bright, fresh and airy, is exceptionally well maintained and spotlessly clean, with multiple inviting communal areas. The bedrooms are generous in size, homely, and are
well equipped for any needs an older person may have. The staff are kind, attentive and caring, both to the residents as well as to their family and friends. Although mum was only at Benholm for a short time, we were delighted with her care throughout and we were very grateful that the nursing staff were quick to notice her deterioration in health and took all the appropriate action swiftly and sensitively, keeping us informed throughout. Our only regret is that mum didn't have more time to fully benefit from all of the care, homely surroundings and activities that Benholm has to offer. Thank you to all of the wonderful staff at Benholm.

I have stayed at Benholm Care Home for respite four times and on each occasion the staff have all been most friendly and helpful.Any additional items I required for the rooms,which were ideal,were provided without delay.The daily activities provided were most suitable.

I am the daughter of a Benholm Care Home resident and, having previously had my mum in care at another home, I am filled with gratitude every time I think of her being in Benholm. My mum has dementia and my worst fear when choosing a care facility was that she would be left to simply fade away. I wanted
her to be cared for and ultimately, to be happy. And thankfully, it seems that she is in the perfect place. There is no fear of her being neglected or suffering from lack of stimulation. The management team are exceptional. The staff are kind, compassionate, positive and enthusiastic. The home itself is beautiful and exceptionally clean. The food is excellent. And the activities are beyond my expectations.
Benholm, to me, is the dream home for anyone in need of residential care. Again, the staff are incredibly caring towards my mum and she is happy and considers Benholm home, which is a huge relief. Over and above this, the staff extend their care to include relatives and I always feel welcome.

Can not fault the care and attention my mum has had since she went into the home in March. Every carer and nurse has been excellent in every way. My mum is so happy to be there, they all make sure there are lots going on between music, bringing in animals, weaving, painting stones, always something
to keep the residents alert and happy. Well done Benholm Care Home.

Excellent service for my father.
Room was on hold until he was ready to move.
Staff so friendly and helpful.
A great introduction for my father when he was admitted.
Not sure about activities in the home yet as my father has just arrived.
Hopefully, he will interact with activities.

My mum is much happier since coming into care. Mum is more content, has made friends and enjoys the in-house entertainment. I feel more relaxed knowing my mum is safe and well cared for and the staff are all approachable.

Best Care Home you could get. Staff cannot do enough for you. Happy that my Mum is in Benholm and getting well looked after. Management is very good also. Definitely a home-from-home experience. They have lots of activities within the home daily.

My mum has been a resident in Benholm for 2+ years. I have been extremely happy with the care given throughout. It must have been so difficult for all over the Covid restrictions, but the staff were absolutely fabulous, becoming the family to her when we couldn’t visit. I can never thank them enough!!
Sadly she died a few days ago but the care was amazing. She was comfortable and so well looked after. And the help we got clearing out her room was astonishing. Thank you so much, everyone. So appreciated

Sadly my mother only had 4 days in the care of the staff at the Benholm, having been moved from NHS care, for end-of-life/palliative care before she passed away. For the four days, she was in the care of the staff at the Benholm, I cannot praise highly enough the care and the attention provided both
to my mother but to myself as a family member spending time just sitting with my mother. My mother was asleep most of her last few days, but both nursing and care staff ensured she was comfortable and had anything she needed, and in my opinion, helped her pass away as peacefully as she could given her illness. I will admit to being very apprehensive about her moving from NHS, but all of my fears were unfounded. Sadly I didn't have time to meet with all the staff and get to know them, but those I did meet and speak to were very caring and helpful.

The level of care my dad has received since arriving at Benholm has been fantastic. He was very confused and agitated due to his dementia and the staff have been patient, caring and. understanding. They have worked with myself and my siblings to settle him in and make Benholm his home, which is what
it is now. The staff go out of their way to keep him safe, happy and very well cared for. We all know he is settled and that if there was a problem or question they would contact us immediately.

My father has been in Benholm Care Home for six months. When he went in, he was very unwell but with care and kindness, his health and mobility improved significantly. We are kept well-informed of any problems ie falls, lack of appetite, changes to medication, infections etc. His health is failing again
and everyone, including domestic staff, carers, nursing assistants and managerial staff, have been friendly, attentive, caring and kind. Nothing is too much trouble and they always have a smile on their faces. My grateful thanks to them all.

My mother unfortunately passed away on 26th May 2019 but during her stay in Benholm Care Home from January 2019 onwards, she was given the best care at all times. It made Mum's last few months so much easier, being cared for so well.
Although she had lost her mobility, staff ensured she was taken outdoors
whenever weather allowed, which she loved so much.

Overall good. Staff appear caring and treat residents with dignity. Residents appear clean and tidy. My mother-in-law says the meals are poor as she is unable to chew meat - poor choice. She says she is always hungry. True or dementia? Unable to answer as I have not seen the meals.

My uncle was in Benholm Care Home and the staff couldn't do enough for him. The girl that does the entertainment is very good and she always has plenty of things for the people to do and they all join in. Can't fault any of the staff.
