I was very well looked after by all the staff, and I felt very safe and comfortable. I wasn't well during my stay, so I didn't take advantage of everything on offer, but I am looking forward to my next holiday at Flowers.

I have had two respite stays at Flowers Manor in the last year.
The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are a good size with modern fittings and a good size wet room bathroom. They are very comfortable. The lounge is very comfortable and the garden is very pretty and accessible.
The
food is excellent and the activities that residents can do are very good. We had a talk about the history of Chippenham one day which was very interesting. Friends and family can join you for these which is nice.
I cannot fault it and will definitely be staying again in the future.

I have been here for six weeks' respite, which I have found very helpful in my recovery from an operation at the hospital. My confidence and strength have improved since I have been here, all due to the care that I have had from all the staff.
They always greet you with a smile and a cheery good morning.
When
I come to the end of my stay with Manor Care Home, I know I will feel confident in going home.

My early introduction to Flowers Manor Care Home was a blessing for both of us, as my medical health deteriorated quite quickly and appointment letters seemed to be arriving every day. there involved appointments at both hospitals. I need not have worried as everything was taken care of, and I have
recovered and am nearly back to normal. Since my return, I have been encouraged to give presentations to the other patients which has been for operations. I am currently preparing other presentations with the help of the staff.

Care provided by staff was very good, and Mum was made to feel very comfortable. Whilst the bed/chair were not ideal for her condition, we appreciate that she was only there for 2 weeks and every effort was made to make her as comfortable as possible. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the
respite care provided a very good break.
Thank you to everyone for their care.

Staff amazing in their training and looking after mum. I was kept informed of any changes. Every time the doctor was sent for, when her ketones were high, etc. An amazing summer party last year was put on by the staff. I don't know how it was so professional when the home was also run to perfection.
The manager and all her staff are extremely professional and caring. Our names were known by the staff, and nothing was ever a problem. Well done Flowers.

Nodens Manor

from Ian T (Son of Resident) published on 25 March 2026

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Our mother was very keen to move to Nodens Manor when she realized that living independently was becoming more difficult and restrictive due to her medical issues and visiting a friend who had moved there.

We took her for a visit/tour and were all very impressed, not only the facilities but also

how the staff and residents interacted and the general atmosphere. Mother decided there and then that she was sure it was the right move for her and she moved in a few weeks later.

Due to memory problems she forgot all of the above and was sure that we had "put" her there against her will and was insistent she could go home and manage well on her own.

Over the past 6 months we have seen major improvements in our mothers outlook and general health. The staff have been amazing at making her feel involved and have encouraged her to join in the daily activities, she is spending much more time engaged and happy. Nothing is too much trouble for them.

Everything about Nodens is amazing.

My mum has settled very quickly at Flowers Manor, and we couldn't be happier with the care she's receiving. From the moment she arrived, the atmosphere has been warm, friendly and truly homely, which made such a difference in helping her feel comfortable.
The staff are approachable, kind and always
willing to answer any questions we have. Nothing ever feels like too much trouble, and it's reassuring to know she's surrounded by people who genuinely care.

My mother came for emergency respite in December. It was a very traumatic time for both mum and myself but the staff welcomed us with care and compassion. She has settled in so well, and nothing is too much trouble. The food choice is excellent, as are the daily activities, certainly for all residents'
needs. Highly recommend.

My Aunt has been a full time resident for the last 6 months.
Everyone's been nothing but kind, helpful and courteous from the phone call making the initial enquiry to helping my Aunt settle into her new home.
The home and staff are extremely friendly. Nothing is too much trouble and visitors, residents
and everyone I have met treat each other with respect.
The home is beautiful, just like a 5 * hotel, beautiful and clean, spacious and I wouldn't look to put myself or anyone I know in any other care home.
There are activities every day for residents to participate if they wish and family and friends of residents are encouraged to visit and participate too.

Since mum became a resident at Nodens, Lydney my family have nothing but praise for the way mum has been cared for. Initially we worried that mum would isolate herself in her room. However. we have been really surprised how well she is mixing with other residents and joining in activities. The decor
is lovely, warm, light and comfortable and there is nothing "institutional". Mum really likes her room and bathroom and they are cleaned to a hug standard. The carers are excellent and nothing is too much trouble to help mum. Mum has had a couple of falls and we have been contacted promptly and updated when necessary. Mum loves the food and it's a relief that she is eating so well.

Finding the right care home is not easy. The convenient location and strong reputation attracted my wife and I to view Flowers Manor. Asubsequesnt two week respite care was sufficient to convince us that it was right for us. My wife is now a happy resident at Flowers Manor.

I have went into Old Sarum Manor recently to visit a family friend. When I came to the home I was greeted by a very happy lady welcoming me to the home and advising me where my friend was staying and also said that I could help myself to a hot drink from the coffee machine and also the cake that was
by it (I had two slices of leman drizzle cake,) I did ask when the next batch was being made as I will make sure I am visiting again that day!
I was then shown to my friend, who was sat in an activity being held, he was sat there with the biggest smile on his face he has often said how much he loves it there.
The staff were so helpful. The atmosphere surrounding the home was amazing and comforting.
All residents seemed happy and cheerful!
The cleanliness was outstanding and did not smell like a "care home"
I will be back soon for another slice of cake!!! Or two!!

Flowers Manor defines the 'care' in the care home with parents resident there for nearly a year. We have been very pleased with the standard of care provided. The carers are friendly, cheerful and efficient. They listen and act on any requests in such a way that, as a family member, you feel valued,
as well as the residents themselves being prioritised. Nothing is too much trouble.

Very good care has been provided to my mother throughout her stay for the last six months at Flowers Manor as a permanent resident. The quality of the rooms, the lounges, library and other facilities are excellent and they are always clean and welcoming. Mum has been involved regular enjoyable activities.
The care staff are on the ball with helpful words, medications, refreshments, helping arrange hospital trips etc and eased the transition from a period of respite care into full time residency. In addition the care displayed by all the team to support mum through her recent bereavement when Dad passed away last October was excellent. Visitors are always cheerfully made to feel welcome, and the admin around care home residency such as billing etc are refreshingly simple. Mum and I wholeheartedly recommend Flowers Manor to others.

Nodens Manor is a unique residential and dementia care home on the edge of Lydney of the Forest of Dean.
in Gloucestershire. Nodens Manor is currently regarded as the Ambassadorial/ Highly regarded Flagship of the Company's  newest and latest of  two other superb quality homes based in the West of
England.
It would be difficult to find a more committed experienced and friendly group of carers driven by the highly experienced management team - all of whom are dedicated to providing the very best for their residents both 24/7 night and day.
It does its very best to create kind and lasting relationships for each of their residents - including high levels of care & support as well as doing their best enabling each resident to feel wanted and cared for. The residents are given quality food throughout each day in warm, bright and very secure surroundings - negating any issues of becoming totally institutionalized or losing the resident's independence.
