Bernash is absolutely amazing! We viewed many care homes for my aunt and just didn't get the right feeling. The moment we stepped into Burnash we were greeted by the manager Shelley, we knew then that this was the place.
The staff are fantastic, caring, professional, hard working and each comes with
a great sense of humor and knowledge of all the residents inside out.
They all work so hard to make sure all residents are happy and have activities each day to do.
They all love the music, dancing and the managers little dog Nova!!
Shelley goes above and beyond and has helped me and my sister so much with out aunt.
Our aunt is now happy and safe living at Burnash and we have had a huge weight lifted off our shoulders knowing she is receiving the best care possible!
Thank you everyone at Burnash!
Reply from Shelley Turnbull, Manager at Bernash Care HomeThank you so much for your incredibly kind words. It truly means the world to all of us here at Bernash.

Mum went into Bernash the end of 2025. Mum was no longer safe at home, it wasn't easy for myself and my sisters to make the decision for Mum to go into a care home, but needed!! We have found Bernash to be friendly, all staff are professional, always a smile on their faces. The care the give the residents
is individual care which is whats needed, they really get to know the residents. It's very much home from home. I can't think of where better for Mum. As a family we are very happy with Bernash.
Reply from Shelley Turnbull, Manager at Bernash Care HomeThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.
We understand how difficult the decision can be to move a loved one into a care home, and we're so pleased to hear that you and your family feel reassured and happy with Mum's care at Bernash. It means a great deal to us that you've found our team to be friendly and professional, and that the personalised care we provide has made a positive difference.
Creating a warm, "home from home" environment is something we strive for every day, and it's wonderful to know that this has come across in your experience. Your kind words will be shared with the team, who will be very encouraged by your feedback.

The care here is second to none. Fabulous staff who really care about the residents and treat them with utmost respect and kindness.
The manager is present and engages with residents and relatives with openness and transparency
There are many activities for able residents to participate in and the
atmosphere is happy and filled with fun and laughter.
The room is small and basic but that doesn't matter as it's the care that counts here.
Highly recommend the team and we can't thank them enough for all that they do.

My mum moved into Bernash at the end of 2025. It was an upsetting decision and time for our family. However, any doubts or concerns I had were quickly gone. The staff are all kind, caring and considerate to both the residents and visitors. My mum has 24 hour care and the company of staff, other residents
and the many visitors that visit Bernash daily. The staff have taken the time to get to know my mum, her likes and dislikes.

The home itself is warm and clean. Any questions you have are answered and everyone is happy to help. Activities are run for the residents to help keep them motivated and alert and visitors are invited to join in. Special occasions such as birthdays etc are celebrated and each resident gets their special day. A nurse goes to the home weekly to check on the residents and will help with any health queries i might have about my mum. They also have a hairdresser who visits the home and for a reasonable fee they will wash, cut and blow dry the residents.

Reply from Shelley Turnbull, Manager at Bernash Care HomeThank you so much for your kind review. We understand that moving a loved one into care can be a very emotional time, so it means a great deal to know that you feel reassured and supported by our team.

residents have plenty to do and there are always lots of activities planned. Residents families are made to feel welcome to visit at any time.

My Dad had a 6 week respite break which then became permanent at the beginning of March. He is so happy at the care home, he now has people around him that look after him which is what he has needed for such a long time. The staff are amazing, always friendly and more than happy to help. Dad with utmost respect and provide activities to keep him entertained. The management team keep me informed of any visits by the doctor and any other issues that may arise. When Dad is happy, we are all very happy!

My mother first went into the Little Croft Care Home in February 2022 for respite care. However, it quickly became apparent that it would be impossible for my mother to live on her own again, so her stay became permanent.

In total my mother spent three years in the home, she died earlier this month

aged 95. During that period she at all times received the most outstanding care. The manager and her team provided the most caring and considerate environment possible. To say my mother was well looked after would be a huge understatement. Often when we visisted she would be sitting in the communal lounge and staff walking by would wave to her to say hello. One important aspect of her care was the quality of the food. My mother always looked forward to her meals and had nothing but the highest praise for the food provided.

We could not have picked a better care home.

My mother moved into Little Croft in December 2024. From day one the care and love she received was exceptional. The team supported my mother for nearly one and half years which gave the family the confidence that mum was safe and cared for. The team at Little Croft supported mum with all her needs,
food and medication and with love they accepted if she was difficult from time to time. Mum loved her time in Little Croft. Mum passed away in early March and the family are very grateful to everyone in Little Croft for their support and care.

My mum has dementia and went in for a little respite and 6months later still at Bernash. The manager and the team are amazing and made the whole transition as smoothly as possible. The place is clean and tidy . Home cooked food and activities always going on .
If it wasn't for Bernash I'm not sure
what situation my mum would have been in now . I can now enjoy quality time with mum rather than being her carer , she is safe and I sleep much better at night knowing she has the support and care 24/7 which I'm unable to provide .

My Dad did not want to go into a care home, he had been independent since my Mum died and was adamant that he could look after himself, but after a stay in hospital it was clear that he could not go back home.
He did not make life easy for the staff at Bernash but they were unfailing patient in caring
for him and eventually they won him over.
As a family we were very happy with the care he received at Bernash. The staff are great and there always appeared to be a happy and settled team on who they understood the needs of the residents.
