My 66 year old gentle sister required palliative care for her end of life. The care staff and cleaners were gentle, kind, empathetic and looked after her personal care, nourishment, giving her time when in pain. The Nurses were able to contain her pain requirements for her pancreatic cancer along with her Community Hospice team. The management were kind, polite and responsive to all her families requests and email responses. The rooms at Rodwell really did feel like home as each is a small apartment with TV, en-suite wet room, toilet, a little kitchen/fridge and 2 x sitting areas for guests to set up a space for making refreshments, this made visiting under such awful circumstances much more comfortable. Of course the staff asked if one wanted refreshment or to even have a meal, again making one feel supported. The downstairs three communal living rooms are huge with TV and quiet space and massive windows opening to delightful garden views. Everything was accessible by foot/wheelchair.

These first four weeks really couldn't have gone much better. I feel incredibly fortunate that Dad is at Rodwell House and would absolutely recommend it to others.

Rodwell House has taken all the stress away for us and my dad. He is well looked after and the staff are very friendly. All the residents look happy and content, it's a pleasure to visit in the main lounge, and in Dad's lovely bedroom. Everywhere is well kept and I would recommend it any time.

I'm glad my father is settled here, he enjoys the food and entertainment, and I know he is looked after whatever happens

My husband moved in a few years ago and I have been really happy with the excellent care he has received. I feel that I am always listented to by the team. They take time to make sure he is always smart and well presented the staff are dedicated to providing excellent care. The home is always clean and tidy and has a real homely feel. My husband is treated with dignity and respect for which I am truly grateful.

Mum has been here for three and a half years. Over that quite significant amount of time the staff have adapted to her changing needs of care whilst all the while being kind, attentive and reassuring. The nursing and management team are very open and friendly, they run an open door policy and are more than happy to chat at anytime. Care plan reviews are also offered on a regular basis or when needs change. I would thoroughly recommend Rodwell House based on my own experience.

Quite frankly I would love to reside at Rodwell if I couldn't look after myself.

We could not be happier with the service and care provided to mum by Rodwell House. All the staff, from nursing care to office staff to cleaners are friendly, helpful and respectful. Mums room is comfortable, clean and homely. She is encouraged to make it her own with photos and ornaments from home and we are always made welcome when we visit. Cannot recommend highly enough.

It would be good if there were more activities for residents at the weekends, though I do understand this is the most popular time for families and friends to visit.

Very welcoming atmosphere. Staff are polite and caring. My mum was always clean and well presented whenever we visited, and there a a good choice of healthy food. Wishing all the very best for the future.

Excellent first impression and lovely rooms and garden. Day staff are competent and caring, but under too much pressure to attend to residents quickly. Night staff had a less positive attitude and were not as well-trained. The food excellent, entertainment was varied. The majority of staff were pleasant and respectful. A pleasure to visit, and financially in line with other care homes. This was a good stepping stone for my husband on his way to regaining mobility and coming home permanently.

My first time visit. Staff were warm and friendly to both residents and visitors alike. Premises very clean and secure. facilities very good. I would welcome self help tea and coffee for visitors in the communal room, subject to safety considerations for residents. Staff I know would have and do provide if asked but they were busy serving lunch and caring for residents and so it seemed a little selfish to ask.

I would like to thank all the staff for their exceptional care and professionalism in looking after my mother who had severe dementia. Their dedication and sincere care was there to see every time I went to see her and I am so glad she was able to live her limited life in the comfort that she always received. Thank you to two staff members amongst the others - and another staff member in particular at the end - for easing the suffering both for my mother and my sister and I. From the bottom of my heart - thank you!

The only bad taste i am left with after more than 5 years was the disappearance of my Mothers wedding ring which particularly upset my sister very badly and we felt that this was not properly investigated or concluded satisfactorily.

The staff are all extremely friendly to residents and visitors alike - and that includes housekeeping, laundry and catering staff too. There is definitely a can do culture.

She enjoyed the food, the gardens and some of the activities. She had a great sense of humour and often laughed with the staff.

I would recommend Rodwell to others if needed.

It's very stressful making this decision for a loved one, especially when there is no other family around. This was the best decision, Im so relieved, the staff at Rodwell are exemplary and my aunt is settling in and happy.

Really friendly caring staff. Mum appears to be very content. Management are always willing to talk about any concerns and response is immediate. Really helpful. Nursing team available to talk about health issues when required.
