My uncle is bed-bound and lived here for years. He often told me his belongings went missing, including seeing staff take items and residents with dementia entering his room. Upstairs frequently smelled unpleasant, meals were very small, and he struggled to understand some staff due to communication barriers. His call buzzer and TV remote were often out of reach, and he rarely joined activities, spending most days alone in his room. The home advertises internet and phone access, but we were told to provide a mobile and buy a dongle. His care plan took five months to receive. His placement then ended suddenly while he was in hospital, with no written notice or alternative arranged. We were told he "did not follow instructions", which felt disrespectful and untrue. When collecting belongings, items were missing, later confirmed by the manager. This experience was distressing and lacked dignity and clear communication.
Thank you for your feedback. We recognise that this has been a frustrating situation, particularly following your uncle's decision not to return to our nursing home. All concerns raised were fully investigated and reviewed by both the Local Authority & CQC. And they weren't upheld, as the evidence...
My dad was a resident for a short period of time. The time he spent there was nice, the building was well-equipped and well staffed they embraced him like family and were professional patient and caring. They were very supportive to the family and they provide an excellent care service, would highly recommend them.

Mum was a resident at Headingley Nursing Home for just over 12 months until she passed away in August 2023. Throughout her stay there, we were very happy with the care she received, she was always treated with dignity and respect and was very settled. Although she had many mental and physical incapacities, the staff did a great job of looking after her and really pushed the boat out when it was Mum and Dad's 59th wedding anniversary, the chef baked a cake, they were given an anniversary card and the staff put banners and balloons up in the conservatory when my dad visited which put a big smile on both their faces! The staff took great care of her and gave us regular updates on her health. I would be very happy to recommend Headingley Nursing Home.
Thanks,
My sincere thanks to all the staff and the manager for helping us through the difficult time, I can't thank you all enough.
Hi Martin, we are thankful you for your kind words. I will ensure that we pass on your thanks to all our staff, I'm sure they would be very pleased with your generous comments.
My Father was a resident for approximately 8 months after suffering a stroke. He required 24 hour nursing spending most of his stay in bed. His care was outstanding and delivered with the utmost dignity. Staff at all levels should be commended for their dedication throughout what was a very difficult time for all. Thank you to all at Headingley Nursing Home.
Thank you for your kind words. All our staff is grateful to receive such a lovely review.
Thank you to all the team.
Thank you for your kind words Jayne. We all miss your sister. Please do come over if you are in the area and we will always be happy to see you.
My mother spent nearly a year at this home, during which time she was looked after superbly. The manager and staff worked extremely well as a team. They encouraged visits and activities and were proactive in discussing the care provided and dealing with any questions and concerns. My mother was very well cared for - she was encouraged to join activities, whilst her wishes, preferences and privacy were fully respected. Her personal and physical care was of the highest standard - this included washing, help with mobility and laundry (items regularly washed and returned on time). Many of the staff have worked here for a long time, which speaks volumes for the establishment and the way it treats its employees and residents. Food was of a high quality and interaction between residents, visitors and staff was friendly and professional. Sadly, mum died peacefully in April at the home - she was made very comfortable and was content, relaxed and fully supported.
Thank you for your kind words, it was our pleasure.
My husband recently died at Grove Court whilst receiving 24 hour nursing care following a 6 weeks stay in hospital. I cannot praise highly enough the care and compassion shown to us both by both management and staff in his final days. I could stop worrying, knowing that he was being, gently, kindly and efficiently cared for all through the day and night. Although he was unable to benefit from it, the atmosphere in the lounges and dining room was relaxed and friendly and the food smelled and looked excellent. Should I ever need it, I would be happy to live there as a resident.
Every member of staff is a credit to Grove Court.
They couldn't have offered my Mum better care for the short time she was in their care.
Although she was bed bound for the duration of her stay they took the time to sit and chat with her.
We took great comfort in the knowledge that in her final days/hour's she was comfortable and peaceful.
