The manager of Beechcroft is a very good manager and has the welfaire of all the people in her care a top priority, she is kind and approachable to all staff and visitors.
Regarding the hands on staff a small number of the younger staff have a need for a little bit more tuition in time and placement of duties. That said the rest of the hands on staff are very efficient, some have been working in care for a number of years and are exceedingly well trained, very good with people in their care.

My wife is very happy in Beechcroft and the staff seem to like her. She has a nice bright room to live in. I go to the home every day for two hours sometimes longer have done so for almost two years. I find every one living in Beechcroft very happy with their placement in this well run care home.

Wonderful warm welcome by Staff on arrival, the staff hugged and welcomed my mum into her new home. Later after I left a very emotional and upset mum due to her understanding of the situation, I saw through the window residents go over and see her, and then one resident took mum by the hand and took her to the lounge after talking to her. It was a wonderful site and warmed our hearts at this emotional and difficult time

Mom has been at Beechcroft for 6 months. She was very reluctant to move into a home. My sister and I are so happy with Beechcroft, Mom has settled in nicely and much better than we expected. The staff are fantastic and are very caring and very respectful. It definetely has put myself and sister's minds at rest. Thank you Beechcroft!

I had a very enjoyable stay from April 2025 till June 2026. Amazing staff who really boost my confidence and made me smile again.

My only problem was being surrounded by dementia patients although I did grow to understand what an awful disease it is.

Thank you for the feedback, we all miss you and the conversations in the garden. We understand it is difficult being around individuals who have different needs, however lovely friendships were formed and exist now. You are, of course welcome anytime. We appreciate your comments and we hope to see you soon for a coffee and a natter.

I visit my Mum on a regular basis and always find the staff at Cary Lodge to be so attentive and caring. Everyone has helped to make Mum feel safe and at home. The staff have also been a great support to me when visiting - they truly care for the people they are entrusted to help. Nothing is too much trouble.

My husband was a resident at Cary Lodge for 10 months until he died in March 2026 and I am very grateful for the care he received. The home, including the bedrooms, is well decorated, bright and airy. Many bedrooms overlook the lovely garden. The caring staff are all, without exception, kind, friendly and very patient and respectful when helping residents, especially residents with dementia who sometimes exhibit challenging behaviour. Visitors are greeted with smiles and are always made to feel welcome. The manager is always available and is very approachable. The entertainer and the activities person are also friendly with both residents and visitors.

We appreciate the lovely comment you have given during this difficult time. We are all sad of his passing as we were privileged to have cared for him. The team strive to provide the warmth we all hope to see in a home by providing the respect deserved to each individual.

The care given to my nan when she had to come in as emergency respite was amazing. My nan has dementia and would quite often get confused but all the staff cared for her with so much respect. Her room was lovely and she absolutely loved the food. Thank you all so much for everything.

My dad was a resident at Beechcroft from February 2025.

Initially, there were some teething problems, but once these had been raised, they were actioned and dad did really well.

Dad wasn't able to walk much when he first went into the care home, by the time he left, his mobility was a lot better.

We only moved dad to another care home to be closer to us.

Dad was happy at Beechcroft and we were very happy with the care he received.

The staff were lovely and had dad's best interests at heart.

Thank you to Joan and the team for looking after dad.

A big thank you to the manager and ALL the staff for the kindness and care shown to my mum during her stay. We were always welcomed with a smile and an update on how mum was doing. Nothing was too much trouble and the manager was always available for a chat and reassurance. Thank you again.

Review of Beechcroft Care Home from Rebecca H (Friend of Resident) published on 11 November 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Our dear friend and neighbour had a great deal of good fortune to be placed at Beechcroft for the last few months of her life. Right from the beginning she was treated like a cherished family member by the general manager and her wonderful team of welcoming, cheerful and friendly carers. Her room, like all the public rooms, was super-clean and light and airy. The staff took the trouble to arrange all her clothes and belongings as if she were at home. At Beechcroft they really understand the meaning of the word 'home'. The manager is a really caring and compassionate person who always goes over and beyond ensuring the wellbeing of the residents AND their family, friends and loved ones. She always keeps everyone informed and sees that her team respond to the wishes of their very vulnerable residents. What was most notable for us was the sensitive and truly caring way they looked after her on the day she passed away. Thank you!

Staff are always polite and helpful. Seem very respectful to all the residents. Not seen much of the management. Communal areas always clean and tidy and personal room also tidy. Mum seems bored and would like more activities.

My mother was in Beechcroft care home for 5 years; she sadly passed away on 18 July 2025. During her time at Beechcroft she received care of the highest standard. The staff were patient and caring and nothing was ever too much trouble. The home was always clean and tidy; warm and comfortable. When visiting my mother we were always greeted by friendly caring staff.

My Dearest Grandfather entered the home in June 2023 when his dementia deteriorated and it was no longer safe for care within the family home. We were apprehensive about placing him in a home due to the stories you often hear and Adult Social Care found us Beechcroft. We could not have wished for a better place for him to be, he was provided with outstanding care, and the staff became a second family for us, always a friendly smile at the door, or a hug and a listening ear on the days where dementia was particularly hard for us to witness. We were well informed of care that was being provided for his specific needs and one staff member in particular was always on hand no matter what to answer any of our questions. Sadly my grandfather passed away on 19 June, but we thank all the wonderful staff who helped give us an extra two years with such a wonderful man and for making his last few days so full of dignity. We will forever be grateful.

The staff at Beechcroft, and latterly Cary Lodge, looked after my Mother with care and compassion for over six years until she passed away last month. Her needs were met in all aspects, and she was very happy in her surroundings. The staff at both establishments were friendly and caring and always obliging on all my visits and nothing was too much trouble.
