Such a warm, welcoming, inclusive, home from home. It has been such a relief to finally know that my mother is safe and cared for. My mother is treated with dignity and respect, encouraged to join in with the many varied activities but her choice whether to participate is always respected. Visits from family and friends are encouraged and we are always made to feel so welcome. We couldn't have chosen anywhere better for my mother to live... Thank you Thorpe Wood

I find that there is not a lot of interaction between carers and residents. They do a good job with practicalities but not so much with the social element. Residents left alone with no company (except visitors). I appreciate the entertainment program is full but if the resident does not want to join in they are isolated and lonely.

With the help of one-to-one care, my dad has been cared for Extremely well and couldn't ask for better, thank you to all the staff at The Maltings

Since my sister has been at the Maltings, I have felt relieved to know that she is getting the best possible care there. The main thing to me is she seems happy and when I leave I feel that everyone there cares for her happiness too. She is now eating which she had almost stopped doing. This has only happened with lots of help and patience. The caring and comforting from all the care staff is amazing. My sister's personal care was almost non existent, but here she is always clean, tidy and healthy looking. I am always able to speak to someone about her condition. My sister has quite a lot of issues and I do not think she is very kind to the care staff. I am sorry for this and can only say a big thank you to everyone at the Maltings for looking after her so kindly.

I am living at Thorpe Wood care home since November 2024. My stay at Thorpe Wood is very comfortable. The staff is good and always treat with respect and dignity. I enjoy my day with activities and lovely food. The management is always approachable and seek feedback regularly. I feel at home.

The Maltings is a lovely Care Home, always a nice welcome from the staff when we visit my wife. Her care has always been exceptional, we have total Peace of mind knowing she has the best care for her complex needs, So thank you to all at The Maltings for caring so much for my dear wife and the walks in the gardens which she loves. My husband and I visited several nursing homes when we were considering respite care, Thorpe Wood came out top of the list although we were concerned that we might have to go on a waiting list. The need for permanent care came quicker than we expected and thanks to the management staff my husband was able to become a resident. The rooms are well designed and very comfortable. The whole building is made to feel like 'home'. Meals are wholesome and varied. Staff are attentive and caring, you could not ask for more. This is somewhere you should visit and put on your 'What if' list.

Management very good deals with problems instantly, very friendly, some problems with food at meal times, meals not very warm. Sometimes brings food that was not requested. Would like my partner to be involved with activities when family re not there, I know she has a lot of needs otherwise staff and management very helpful and friendly, care home has a nice feeling.

This is a wonderful care home where mum was made welcome from her very first day. All the staff are so caring and are brilliant at seeing to mum's needs in such a respectful and helpful way. Mum particularly loves all the musical events and anything to do with arts and crafts. There's nearly always something to keep her entertained and engaged. I have total peace of mind knowing mum is so well cared for.

Very caring and friendly staff the management are readily available and very supportive to resident's family. No one appears phased by the unpredictable behaviour of some residents. Activities are varied and the coordinators are hardworking, bubble people who enjoy their time with the residents. The garden is wel maintained and attractive. We are very pleased our family member is a resident at Thorpe Wood at this challenging time.

The Maltings Care Home has recently come under new ownership team - and this has brought many new and improved facilities with all carpets and communal rooms being completely updated with new and acceptable furniture and carpets. The along with the ever present and proffesional caring staff who offer personal kindness and compassion at all times which ensures that my partner is in a safe and respected environment.

The Maltings Care Home delivers all aspects of care as promised. The whole management team together with all staff including nurses and carers are kind, friendly, professional and couteous at all times. I am always acknowledged when arriving and leaving The Maltings. I have peace of mind my husband is safe and care for, at all times. My sincere thanks to each and everyone you.

Whenever we visit the Maltings the staff are always welcoming and friendly. They are very responsive to any questions we ask regarding mum's care. Mum is always treated with respect with every effort to support her needs. At each visit there are activities taking place . The garden provides a lovely space which the residents are encouraged to use. We enjoy taking mum in the garden and often see staff taking residents out for a walk. Other family members have been present at meals and always comment on the excellent food which mum really enjoys. The home is clean and well maintained.

My mother, despite being physically frail had remained independent, living at home alone at age 100 +. However, a fall forced her to accept a change was required. We viewed several care homes but found the welcome at Thorpe Wood exceptional. The home is light and airy, windows on all sides looking onto gardens and trees. Large rooms allow a resident to personalise with items from home. Every member of staff smiles, greets you warmly and help and advice is never a problem.

My sister and I viewed other care homes in Peterborough and found Thorpe Wood to be the best for our dear mum, as her dementia meant she could no longer live safely in her own home. We did have to wait a few weeks for a room with a garden view. The room was spacious and we were able to bring some of mum's furniture. In the 18 months mum lived in the home there was very little attrition, which shows happy, well looked after staff. Mum was treated with care and compassion they would go out of their to include mum in the daily activities and group events. We were able to request the food mum liked. When mum was unwell the same doctor used to visit which for someone with dementia, this is very beneficial. When mum was end of life, we didn't want her to go to hospital, we were able to stay with her in her room and she had a very dignified passing the nursing care was outstanding. Thoroughly recommend this care home.

An excellent care home which is first class in so many ways. From the moment you walk in through the door, you can feel the atmosphere is fresh and see the decor is well maintained. The staff are ever friendly and ever caring. The lady in charge of entertainment is a gem; I cannot speak too highly of it.
