Both my parents were residents at Foxley house for a number of years. The staff and care they received were excellent. It was a very sad day when my parents had to leave .
I always found the staff curtious , helpful, obliging and it was a lovely environment for what I hoped my parents to see out
their remaining time .
Reply from Mary Fox, Care Manager at Foxley HouseThank you for your kind words and for taking the time to leave this lovely review. We truly appreciate your feedback. Our staff work hard to provide a warm, supportive environment, so your comments about their kindness and dedication are especially valued. As Power of Attorney for your parents, your review is incredibly helpful and reassuring to both our team and other families considering care for their loved ones. Thank you again for your support and trust in Foxley House. We wish you and your family all the very best.

As the partner of the residents' granddaughter, I visited regularly over an 18-month period of their 4+ year stay. My involvement as an extended family member, looking out for loved ones, bears no relation to whether someone holds POA. During this time, the service often felt disorganised and on the
back foot, with communication inconsistent and reactive rather than proactive.
There were repeated issues that should not have occurred, such as having to ask multiple times for basic items like glasses, and being left to organise their room ourselves after a poorly handled room change. These were not isolated incidents but part of a wider pattern that caused ongoing frustration.
While some staff showed kindness, the overall experience lacked consistency, coordination, and attention to detail. In our experience, the service did not meet the standards of dignity, organisation, and care that families should reasonably expect.
Reply from M F, Manager at Foxley HouseWe must clarify that the reviewer was not a family member or authorised representative directly involved in the residents' care, and we have no record of them as a visitor to the home. Throughout the residents' stay, we worked closely with their family and legal representatives, who consistently expressed appreciation for the care, support, and compassion provided by our team, particularly as the residents' needs increased with age. As such, we consider this review to be misleading and highly unreliable, lacking credibility and not reflective of the documented experiences and feedback shared by those directly involved in the residents' care and decision-making. We remain committed to providing dignified, compassionate, and professional care to all resident.

The staff are all excellent. I have never encountered a staff member in a bad mood and they all have a positive attitude and genuine concern for the residents.
Reply from Gary Fox, Owner at Jordanhill HouseThanks for this kind review and appreciation of all the staff's hard work. I will ensure that it is shared with the team.

Mum has been very happy, the staff are so caring. That's not always easy because mum can be quite strong willed. We moved mum here from another nearly home because we could feel that the care here was more personal. Staff are good fun and nothing is too much trouble. The staff have been the same all
the time mum has been here and that consistency means they get to know her better. Highly recommend.

My gran and grandad moved into the home in 2022, and initially the care was positive, with attentive staff and clear communication. However, after a change in management, standards declined. Communication became poor, and we often had to chase for updates. Activities and outings were limited-my gran
attended occasionally, but my grandad only once, with little effort to include them both.
As my gran's Alzheimer's progressed, we expected she would be cared for until the end of her life. It was therefore very upsetting when the home terminated her placements saying her needs could not be met, leaving her in hospital. After almost 5 years we felt dignity and compassion were severely lacking. While few staff were kind, our overall experience-especially towards the end was extremely disappointing.
Reply from Mary Fox, Care Home Manager at Foxley HouseWe are sorry to read this review; however, we do not believe it accurately reflects the care provided in our home. The reviewer was not directly involved in the day-to-day care planning or clinical discussions and was a very infrequent visitor to the home. We maintained regular communication with those formally involved in decisions( i.e.POA's), working collaboratively and in line with professional guidance at all times. Both residents enjoyed over four years in our care, during which their experience was consistently acknowledged and complimented by family members and professionals. Any changes to care were made following thorough assessment and in consultation with healthcare professionals, always prioritising safety, dignity, and appropriate support. We remain proud of the compassionate care our team provides and would welcome the opportunity to discuss any concerns directly.

I can't thank the management and staff enough for the care they provided my parents even the American writer of inspirational poetry could not provide the words adequate enough to express my gratitude.

My father has settled into Foxley Care Home as if he's lived there his whole life, of his three siblings I was most resistant to him moving into a care home but, after observing him over the last six months or so I am happy to admit I was wrong, I feel he's well looked after and much mre engaged with
the staff and his surroundings than I could have imagined.

Having to choose a care home for a loved one is incredibly difficult, daunting, and emotional process. When I first visited Jordanhill House, I was immediately impressed by the compassion and understanding shown by everyone there. The atmosphere was friendly and caring - it didn't feel like a care
environment; it felt warm, homely and welcoming.
My mum has been a resident since October 2025 and each time I visit, I continue to be blown away not only by the professionalism of the staff but by how genuinely pleasant and caring everyone is. They truly can't do enough for my mum and are a fantastic source of support to us as a family.
The Activities Coordinators also deserve a special mention- they are enthusiastic and engaging bringing so much positivity to the residents daily lives.
This journey isn't an easy one but every single member of the team plays a part in ensuring my mum and all the residents are safe, well cared for and happy. We honestly couldn't ask for anything more.

My aunt was only here for 2 months but the care was excellent and she was treated with kindness. We as a family appreciated everything that the staff did for her, especially in her last few weeks. It gave us great comfort knowing she was being well cared for when we weren't there. Thank you to all staff.

In my personal experience, I felt very let down by this home. It often was that mum spent most days in her bedroom or in front of the television, and I did not see what I would consider meaningful activities and there were zero outings during her three years there. While many staff appeared caring,
they seemed short-staffed, which in my view affected Mum's individual care. I was concerned about communication, including hospital appointments cancelled without my knowledge and documentation I found inaccurate or incomplete. If I raised any concerns, the response felt defensive rather than supportive. In my opinion, the facilities felt tired and in need of updating. We chose to decorate Mum's room ourselves to make it feel more homely and comfortable .My overall opinion and impression was that finance seemed to outweigh personalised care. Sadly, in my opinion our experience did not reflect the care and support we had hoped for.
Reply from Mary Fox, Manager at Foxley HouseWhile we respect differing views, the comments in this review are unrecognisable to our staff and service, and are both disappointing and misleading given the four to five wonderful years this individual and their family visibly enjoyed in our care home.
For confidentiality reasons, we cannot address the comments in full. However, the review was submitted 8-9 months after the person left our service, raising questions about the timing and context. It may even relate to experiences elsewhere.

After new management took over in 2024, my experience of this home changed significantly. What had once felt warm and welcoming became cold and uninviting. I felt individual residents' needs were no longer the priority. Mistakes were made, things were often missed, and communication felt poor. Issues
were dealt with reactively rather than proactively. When concerns were raised, I felt met with defensiveness, which discouraged open communication. Although there was a short period of improvement, this did not last.
Most care staff were kind but clearly overstretched. Activities were rare, with little structured engagement or outings. My mum, who has Alzheimer's, was often taken to her room for making noise, which is part of her condition. Information in our SAR made me feel this was viewed as an issue rather than part of her care needs, suggesting a lack of person-centred care.
The stress and lack of support left me feeling that we failed our mum by keeping her there as long as we did.

My dad has settled well into Foxley House, each member of staff has been welcoming, understanding and extremely caring of his physical and emotional needs. They have communicated well with all family members, have recognised his personality and encouraged him in maintaining an active and fun day to
day routine. I have found my visits to be welcoming, enjoyable, and reassuring. I could not fault the staff's professionalism and commitment.

Foxley House is always a warm and welcoming place with wonderful staff. Nothing is too much bother for the staff, and they are always happy to help, no matter what. My mother is really well looked after, and my family and I are delighted with the care she receives. 10/10
