My sister continues to be cared for with kindness and compassion by the lovely team at The Cedars. The home is exceptionally well run with well trained, compassionate staff who do all they can to meet the many and varied needs of the residents. The fact that many members of staff have worked there
for several years speaks for itself - they are a family and make the residents feel part of that family. Visitors are welcomed and encouraged to be involved in the many activities that the home organises. The overall care package offered is extremely holistic addressing physical and mental needs within a warm, safe, family environment.
Reply from Kasia Nasiadka, Manager at The CedarsThank you, Sue, for your wonderful feedback. We are delighted to hear that your sister continues to receive kind and compassionate care from our team at The Cedars.

My grandad received excellent care during his time here. The staff are all kind, patient and he was always treated with dignity and respect.
The team takes a holistic yet practical approach to care, and the manager's experience and steady, hands on leadership are clear to see. Our whole family was
always warmly welcomed when visiting, and we appreciated having space to spend time together without disrupting other residents.
A safe, supportive environment and felt like a genuine home away from home.

My Mum was placed at Springfield Manor after a spell in hospital and sudden decline due to her diagnoses of Alzheimer's. I could not have wished for a better home for my mum to have gone to. All the staff are so friendly and caring and I am always made to feel welcome when I visit. The Staff are very
quick to pick up if there has been a change in my mums health and take necessary steps. They put on a variety of activities at the home and my mum is included when her health allows for it. The home always has a friendly, homely atmosphere when I visit and is clean and well presented. They ensure all dietary requirements are catered for and the food is well presented and looks appetizing and fresh. Although my mums room initially didn't have the best view not long after my mum went into this room the home took it upon themselves to landscape the outside area to make it more stimulating. I would highly recommend Springfield Manor to anyone that is looking for a home for their loved ones.

Springfield Manor Nursing Home

Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5
This is a terrible place it's more like a prison it's dark and dreary my mother was desperately unhappy in there nothing to lift her spirits in this place
Due to not being power of attorney I couldn't get her moved or I would have done
There is no atmosphere not even a tv in main room I had to
write to the home monthly to ask them to do more activities. My mums window to her room couldn't even open properly as the lock was broken for 3 years it's a miserable place and I would not recommend anyone to send their loved ones there. There is also a very strong smell in their that is not pleasant. I thought the new manager would make a difference but he was no better than the one before that. The odd pictures they put on social media are not how it is there no love no compassion and the fact my mum was stuck in that place for three years will affect me for the rest of my life. I wanted her to end her final years happy but instead she sat in a dark small room.
Reply from Amit Parkash, Nominated Individual at Springfield Manor Nursing HomeThank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear of your concerns regarding your mother's care. When she first joined us for end-of-life care, she improved and returned home; when her health declined again, Springfield was chosen once more by the family. Your siblings, who hold Power of Attorney, were satisfied with her room selection, and no concerns were raised during her stay. All residents are free to use communal areas, and a television was available both in the lounge and her room. Activities like pet therapy and bingo were well attended by your mother. The room window had a safety restrictor, but her patio door provided private outdoor access. Regular inspections have not identified odour issues. We strive for high standards and regret you feel we did not meet expectations. Please contact the Home Manager if you wish to discuss this further.

My review relates to the whole year in which my wife has been a resident (since March 13/2024). I cannot praise too highly the attitude of the management and the approach of the care givers. The manager not only manages the home efficiently but has created all sort of activities far beyond the needs
of basic care -- visits from exercise teachers, Bollywood dancers etc. Residents' birthdays are celebrated as communal activities. She encourages the staff to see their role as getting to know residents personally and engage with them in their memories and troubles. For their part the carers obviously not only care for residents but care about them. They are considerate of, and patient with, the occasionally sometimes quite difficult residents. I'm 77 and travel on public transport well over an hour each way three times a week to Cedars but I have no inclination to look for another home. Indeed I am so glad when I do leave not to have worry about the hands in which I leave my wife.

My mother spent four to five years cared for at The Pantiles where she was well looked after. I visited very often, daily as she declined. The staff and the manager were kind, caring and thoughtful. I had every confidence that Mum would not have better care anywhere else. Mum was able to die there,
not being sent off to hospital to die. I was and am very grateful for that. At 78 I am working towards booking in there myself when the time comes, as long as the current manager is still in charge. She is an excellent manager; efficient and kind.
