I am very pleased with the medical care and personal one to one care that John receives on a daily basis. Over the time he has been at the home the staff have got to know and more importantly respect him and our family. Nothing is too much for them which helps him stay settled and reassured. They are
quick to inform us of any changes to his condition and support us in any way they can.
It's great news that they will be modernising his and other residents' personal spaces. It will give them and the staff a really positive boost to the site.
I highly recommend the nursing home to future residents and their families

Very helpful staff. Home is a bit dated needed new carpets as some are worn and could be trip hazard. Kitchen staff are excellent, and if there is nothing on the menu they are happy to give an alternative. Some patients need a lot of care and staff cope with it very well. Forgive me as I may have got
this wrong but I don't like to be in nightwear at 7pm and they like TV off at 10pm. At first I had a man wash and dress me and I wanted a woman do it so now it is done by a woman. Also it could do with another socket in the room.
Reply from Nina Webb, Operations Manager at Westhampnett House Nursing HomeThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're so pleased you've found our staff helpful and that our kitchen team have been able to offer alternatives to suit your preferences. It's lovely to hear that the team are supporting residents with higher care needs so well.
We appreciate your comments about the dcor and carpets; the home is undergoing a refurbishment programme at present where there we be replacement carpets and redecoration taking place throughout the home. Your feedback about having an additional socket has also been noted.
We are committed to person-centred care, so it's important that your preferences around bedtime routines and TV use are respected, and we will discuss this with you to ensure you feel comfortable. We're glad we were able to respond to your request for a female carer and thank you again for helping us improve.

On all accounts visits so far my wife and I have been treated (without exception) by all the members of staff with a smile and offers of help (as my wife is disabled) and also offered refreshments. We are also impressed with the care and consideration that the staff are giving to our son. In the short
time he has been in the home they have got to know him very well and have been encouraging him to improve his health and wellbeing.
Reply from Nina Webb, Operations Manager at Westhampnett House Nursing HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share your experience.
We are truly grateful for your kind words about our team. It means a great deal to know that you and your wife have consistently felt welcomed, supported, and well looked after during your visits. Offering a warm smile, practical assistance, and simple comforts such as refreshments is all part of ensuring families feel at ease with us. We are especially pleased to hear your positive comments about the care your son is receiving. Supporting each resident as an individual, taking the time to understand them, and encouraging improvements in health and wellbeing are at the heart of what we strive to do every day. Knowing that this has made a difference in such a short time is incredibly rewarding for our staff. Thank you again for your thoughtful feedback and for placing your trust in us. Please do not hesitate to speak with us at any time if there is anything further we can do to support you and your family.

My wife has been a resident coming up to two months with complicatedly illnesses plus losing her eyesight but she has been looked after excellently by staff and management, when i visit her i am also looked after very well. The room is warm and cosy and kept very clean the building is very old but interesting.
There
might be a chance of me joining her in the near future as i am eighty eight years old.
Westhampnett House is old but very good and I would recommend it as a great nursing home

Mum had been a resident for only 1 year before she sadly passed away in October. During her time at Westhampnett House, all the staff treated her with dignity and respect, and catered for her every demanding needs. The staff, from the manager to the cleaners, were always courteous, thoughtful and kind
to mum. I was always informed of any change in my mother's health, and made very welcome when I visited her. Nothing was ever too much trouble for them and I would wholeheartedly recommend this Nursing Home.

My Mother has been a resident for nearly eight years. She sadly passed away in May in her room at the home with her own pictures and belongings around her. Mum suffered from dementia and also needed nursing care. Mum has been treated as a part of the Westhampnett family by the whole team from the
Manager (who Mum adored) and the senior nursing staff, to the cleaners, caterers and helpers, without exception. It takes a certain type of person to do this job and the Westhampnett team are the right people. Their kindness to Mum and to the family has been unfailing, we have been informed whenever her health changed and we have had total confidence in their professionalism to deal with whatever situation should arise. I highly recommend Westhampnett House Nursing Home.

Mum has been well looked after and cared for. She is very happy and so are we. All of the staff are welcoming and caring. Generally the facilities are adequate but the building, windows etc. i.e. heating could be updated. The new events manager is excellent.

My brother has been in this nursing home now for a number of years. His care has been exemplary, particularly now as he is bed-bound. Visitors are encouraged as were his trips out when he was more mobile. He mostly feels content and is secure in the knowledge that he knows and is well-known amongst

The home is impeccably clean and tidy no matter when I visit. My wife looks cared for and comfortable.
Although the building itself is old, it is well-kept and in good condition.

My husband has been a resident at Westhampnett House Nursing Home for over two years, having suffered a major cerebrovascular accident (CVA) in 2019 with resultant hemiplegia, accompanied by severe aphasia which affects his efforts to communicate and frustrates him hugely.
Over time, my husband has
gradually settled, thanks to the dedicated efforts of the staff to try to understand him and make him feel safe and comfortable. Westhampnett House has indeed become his home and I am deeply grateful to the manager, not only for the high standard of care by her professional, caring staff but also for keeping me apprised and supporting me along the way.
Certainly Westhampnett House lives up to its already good reputation and I recommend it highly.

What a dump! Our mum was only here for a few weeks before she moved to a lovely nursing home. Mum was given the same meal for lunch and evening for eight days! Her teeth were never cleaned. Her bed sheets were often dirty having been top to toe after Mum had spilt her tea on them. One day her sheets
were badly torn. Mum's fingernails were cut by staff so short they were bleeding. Prescription medication was left on Mum's chest of drawers. Carpets are badly fitted and were lifting in many areas causing a trip hazard. Blankets were laid on the floors often, causing another trip hazard. No activities or staff interaction. I could go on. I have many photos.
Reply from Nina Webb, Operations Manager at Westhampnett House Nursing HomeThank you for your feedback. We were disappointed to read your concerns and want to address them while assuring you that we take all feedback seriously. Regarding food, we have a weekly menu offering varied, nutritious meals. Our chefs work diligently to meet residents' preferences. The incident with your mum's fingernails was immediately addressed at the time, and we apologised directly to you and your mum. We now exclusively use nail files to ensure residents' safety and comfort. All medications are securely stored and administered by trained staff following strict protocols. Your specific concerns were thoroughly investigated to confirm compliance. During renovations, resident safety remains a priority. Hazards are promptly reported and addressed by our maintenance team. We now have a dedicated activity coordinator providing group and individual activities to meet all residents' needs. We value feedback and strive to resolve concerns. Thank you for helping us improve our services.

Overall excellent care, all staff treated my sister with dignity and respect during the last two months of her life. I, as a visitor, was always welcomed with a smile and made welcome. All staff were polite and helpful. The areas I saw at Westhampnett House were always clean and tidy. The home was warm.
I am very thankful my sister spent her end day there.

Mum has received the most care and love we could ever have wished for. The leadership team have been attentive to all her needs and supported us with advice and care, making us always feel welcome and cared for as if we were residents too! They cared for Mum with a very strong, happy, positive and friendly
team, as if she were the only resident. Going above and beyond, including accompanying her to go and play bridge with her local group and accommodating all tea and cake for her bridge friends each Friday afternoon.

Prior to my mother-in-law arriving at Westhampnett House Nursing Home I visited the home (without an appointment) and I was greeted by the manager who promptly showed me around including the room that would be hers. My mother-in-law was made very comfortable at all times. All the staff were fantastic
and had the utmost respect for her and my husband. A massive thank you to you all.

The home was identified by social care for my father's end-of-life care. The manager encouraged me to visit ahead of agreement and was welcoming. A lovely old building, but with the facilities to care. My father's room was very pleasant and felt like a normal bedroom, rather than a sterile environment.
Unfortunately, my father was only at the home for 3 days before he passed, but the staff treated him and me with such kindness.

The experience that my brother and I went through whilst our mother was a resident in Westhampnett House Nursing Home was one of relief and gratitude. Relief that our mum was treated with dignity, and kindness, which is all you can ask for during such difficult times, and gratitude that our mums leg
sores were taken care of, even though the hospital were unable to help them heal. Our mum was not the easiest resident to care for, she spoke her mind which quite often would appear very rude, however, this was due to her not wanting to be in any residential home, let's face it, who does? The Manager (she knows who she is) and the staff were to say the least, heroic. My brother and I attempted to care for our mum for a couple of weeks, with the help of morning and evening carers, but in the end we found it impossible. Westhampnett did the job that we couldn't and went that extra mile to make mum feel love and affection. Thank you all at Westhampnett, we both appreciate all you did for our mum. Kind regards...
