I was ill when I came to Kahala a week before xmas, my sister is already a resident. The manager and staff have been absolutely wonderful and helped me to get well and do everything they possibly can to create a wonderful, homely atmosphere, so creating a lovely place to live. I'm very happy to be where

I have been privileged to visit Kahala Court Care Home ever since its beginning, possibly 30 years. I visit friends. Also, I go for the months C of E service, and sometimes take part. Also a man from Baptist Church and I did a monthly service when there wasn't a C of E one. The former is Thursday morning,
the latter was Sunday afternoon. Last year, a close friend was cared for into her 100th year! Another elderly mother of a friend I visited. After she passed, her daughter thanked Kahala in the local paper. At Kahala, they have activities, like exercises! A hairdresser goes every Tuesday. It is such a lovely setting, with trees and a lot of brightness.

My mother lived at Kahala Court for nearly four years. When she first moved into the home she was still able to enjoy a social life with the other residents and staff. She loved being in the communal sitting room and she benefitted greatly from the company of her friends at the home. But her dementia
progressed over time so that by the end she was bed bound and completely dependent on the staff. Throughout her stay, and during each stage of her decline, the staff at Kahala Court were always professional, patient, caring and supportive - to me as well as to my mother! I cannot thank the staff enough for their kindness and dedication.

It's never easy when a loved one goes into care and you hope that all will be okay. My friend has been in Kahala court for nearly three years and on the whole the care has been pretty good.
However, in recent months the new manager has taken the level of care up another notch. Improvements such
as a wonderful notice board with lots of info about forthcoming events, lunch menu, birthdays and anything else of interest. A nice welcoming reception signing in area with always a beautiful display of silk flowers.

Staff seem more attentive than ever and I know they sometimes have to work under challenging circumstances.

Most recently, the new manager has organised a min- bus to take some of the residents out for a walk along the beach and fish and chip lunch. It doesn't get much better than that and my friend is thrilled to be going. Well done, thank you and keep up the good work.

My husband is in the late stages of Parkinsons Disease which has rendered him almost immobile, incontinent and often he has hallucinations. At Quay Court he has been settled and content, he opted to go into the home himself and it has worked out very well for him. His medication is given to him on a
regular basis, he loves the banter with various carers and says that he is happy in spite of the situation.

Reply from Nikki Rogers, Owner at Quay Court Care Centre

My husband, who is immobile, stayed at Kahala Court for short term care whilst attending our daughter's wedding nearby. He had a warm welcome and the staff were very kind and caring; the home had a very friendly atmosphere and was spotlessly clean. The staff did everything they could to help him and
to accommodate our comings and goings. He did not spend much of the day at the home and he had a small room, but the staff did their best to manage in this space.
I would like to extend my thanks to the manager and her team for ensuring that, despite his disabilities, my husband could participate in this special occasion.

My Mum had to have an emergency stay at Puddavine Court due to fracturing her fibula immediately before a family holiday. The team at Puddavine were very helpful to us in an emergency situation and were able to accommodate my Mum at exceedingly short notice.
They looked after my Mum well and met her
needs during a very stressful and upsetting time.
All communications with Mum and with us were handled well and the care she received during her two week stay played a huge part in her recovery, enabling her to come home relatively quickly to start resuming her normal everyday life and activities.
Thank you all the team!

My mother spent her last few months at Kahala. We could not have asked for a more dedicated team of carers. They were wonderfully kind ,perceptive and understanding of her deteriorating condition. Her end of life care was exceptional. As a family we were all beautifully looked after. All the staff were
fabulous but special thanks to three staff members in particular.

My father was moved to Kahala Court after a short but life changing illness. The staff were always very cheerful and accommodating with his requests. My stay for five days was due to building work in my home leaving it unsafe for me to stay, I found Puddavine a friendly home staff very staff very helpful, and cared for the resident in their care, they did the manager proud. patience this home was clean and my room bright and very clean.

Our experience with Kahala Court has been extremely good. From the moment we walked in with my mother, we felt a sense of warmth and genuine care. My mother was always clean, comfortable, respected and well taken care of. The carers are very kind and patient and tried to form a meaningful connection
with my mother despite her extensive dementia. Her immobility meant she required full nursing care, which was always done to the highest standard. The home is clean, well maintained and a welcoming environment. We are very grateful for the dedication of the entire team right until Mum's dignified death. We highly recommend Kahala.
