I cannot praise this home highly enough. The care that my mum receives is exceptional. The staff are wonderful and I have never heard an unkind word said - to anyone. The home is kept really clean and it feels like a 'hotel by the sea'. My mum eats and socialises happily with other residents - something I never thought that I would see. Her mobility is extremely limited and she requires intimate care. All met so well.

During end of life care, my cousin was treated with kindness, dignity and attentiveness. The staff liaised effectively with medical teams and ensured she was pain-free, comfortable and safe. As her only relative, I am so grateful for the gentle, cheerful care she was given and also for the kindness the staff showed to me.

Kahala provided excellent care and kindness to dad in his last few weeks. So reassuring for his son and daughter to know he was being well cared for. It was like a weight lifted off us knowing he was safe and had all his needs met. Thank you to every member of the team.

My mother, who was 103, was only in Kahala Court for two months, but the care she received whilst there was first class. The four senior managers were all highly competent and efficient, and the carers so friendly and helpful to my mother who was very frail and needed attention during the day and night. My dealings with the administrator by email on billing etc were friendly and helpful. External visitors such as podiatrists, and district nurses, all spoke highly of the home.The food was excellent and especially the home-made treats with the afternoon tea. Although my mother was unable to join in, there were lots of activities going on for the residents to enjoy, including trips out as well as a full programme of indoor activity. My impression of this care home is that it is a first class establishment, well run and caring for its residents.

My husband was in Kahala Court in Kingsbridge for 4-and-a-half years. The care he received was first-class. The carers were caring, patient, and nothing was too much trouble. Latterly, the activities offered to the residents was much improved and the management first class. I'm extremely grateful that his last years were as comfortable as was possible

My husband has suffered from Parkinsons for many years. Therefore he was unable to care for himself. He needed help with washing, dressing, and was doubly incontinent. The care he received in the home was excellent. There were always sufficient staff available, and he was always clean and comfortable. His room was always clean and well maintained. He enjoyed the food, a varied menu of freshly made meals. The staff are very friendly and professional, and always ready with a smile and a helping hand. Good value for your money and you can trust that your loved one is well looked after.

Truly exceptional care provided by Quay Court team. The last months of our father's life were managed with great dignity, kindness and attention to detail. We appreciated the anticipation of care need progression throughout his final illness. We had complete confidence in the team to provide exceptional 24 hour care.

My mom was at Roundham Court for just over 2 years and I cannot begin to express my thanks to all of the staff at the home for the care that they showed to mom throughout her stay. The home is very well managed by Becky and her wonderful team, they all provide the highest quality care. I visited the home regularly to see mom throughout her years with them and the atmosphere at the home was homely, friendly and above all caring. All the staff treat all the residents with respect, dignity, great care and compassion. When Mom's health deteriorated, the staff were fantastic in providing end of life care for mom and were so supportive and helpful to me and my family through a few difficult months. If you are looking for care home for your loved one, go and visit them and see for yourself because you will feel the love and care as soon you go there and meet the team. You are all angels, thank you so much for everything you did for mom, I will be forever grateful to you all.

I was ill when I came to Kahala a week before xmas, my sister is already a resident. The manager and staff have been absolutely wonderful and helped me to get well and do everything they possibly can to create a wonderful, homely atmosphere, so creating a lovely place to live. I'm very happy to be where nothing is too much for the staff. I'm very grateful.

I have been privileged to visit Kahala Court Care Home ever since its beginning, possibly 30 years. I visit friends. Also, I go for the months C of E service, and sometimes take part. Also a man from Baptist Church and I did a monthly service when there wasn't a C of E one. The former is Thursday morning, the latter was Sunday afternoon. Last year, a close friend was cared for into her 100th year! Another elderly mother of a friend I visited. After she passed, her daughter thanked Kahala in the local paper. At Kahala, they have activities, like exercises! A hairdresser goes every Tuesday. It is such a lovely setting, with trees and a lot of brightness.

My mother lived at Kahala Court for nearly four years. When she first moved into the home she was still able to enjoy a social life with the other residents and staff. She loved being in the communal sitting room and she benefitted greatly from the company of her friends at the home. But her dementia progressed over time so that by the end she was bed bound and completely dependent on the staff. Throughout her stay, and during each stage of her decline, the staff at Kahala Court were always professional, patient, caring and supportive - to me as well as to my mother! I cannot thank the staff enough for their kindness and dedication.

However, in recent months the new manager has taken the level of care up another notch. Improvements such as a wonderful notice board with lots of info about forthcoming events, lunch menu, birthdays and anything else of interest. A nice welcoming reception signing in area with always a beautiful display of silk flowers.

Staff seem more attentive than ever and I know they sometimes have to work under challenging circumstances.

Most recently, the new manager has organised a min- bus to take some of the residents out for a walk along the beach and fish and chip lunch. It doesn't get much better than that and my friend is thrilled to be going. Well done, thank you and keep up the good work.

I would like to extend my thanks to the manager and her team for ensuring that, despite his disabilities, my husband could participate in this special occasion.

My mother spent her last few months at Kahala.We could not have asked for a more dedicated team of carers. They were wonderfully kind ,perceptive and understanding of her deteriorating condition. Her end of life care was exceptional.As a family we were all beautifully looked after. All the staff were fabulous but special thanks to three staff members in particular.

My father was moved to Kahala Court after a short but life changing illness. The staff were always very cheerful and accommodating with his requests. Whenever we visited any members of the team we met were always very helpful, informative and only too pleased to have a chat with us, making us feel that we were included in the care dad was receiving.

Having visited my old friend for a long time now, I am always so impressed by Kahala Court. The staff are always so caring and cheerful and the management excellent. It is wonderful to know that my friend and the other residents are looked after so well - nothing seems to be too much trouble for any of the staff - they are amazing. I can't praise them enough.

They have helped adjust to residential living and to build new relationships that give her social involvement and a feeling of security.

My mother has been a resident at Kahala for 4 and a half years and I cannot fault them. The staff are amazing. They are friendly, helpful and very kind. Mum is very happy there and extremely well cared for. The staff show huge patience with mum and all of the residents. Visitors are always made to feel welcome and the manager is easy to contact and responds to any queries really quickly and efficiently.

Very happy with the care our mother receives. She has been at Kahala for nearly five years. The care staff are so kind, gentle and patient with Mum. We know that she is very well looked after. We are so lucky that she is in a safe and caring environment.
