Overall Experience

My father has been a resident for over 2 years now. He often talks about how happy he is to be staying at Aashna House. We feel that he is in a safe place with caring staff looking after him. The nursing team with the carers are professional and able to look after my dad's medication. The management team is very effective at leading the team, their monthly newsletters are informative and full of fun and colour. The many celebrations that the home has really added to my father's enjoyment. I enjoyed participating in the Diwali celebrations, professional music and food as a guest. My father enjoyed the Christmas celebrations more recently.

This is my third set of visits since last year. I live in USA, every time I come for two to three months.
I am very impressed with the quality of service and warmth by the care team.
Very nice, clean place.

My mother is a resident at Aashna House Residential Care Home, she really likes the place and she is very happy too.

My mom is Gujerati and speaks little English and has specific vegetarian food requirements. She only wanted to come to this care home, as such we waited for availability.
She has been there for many months and had multiple visits to the hospital, the care home has been exemplary in handling the situation from managing her requirements to handling medication.
The Gujerati food is the best my family have tasted, and my mom as a foodie is completely happy.
All the staff are courteous and always help the residents and families with passion. The management team are exceptionally good and you can talk about anything and find solutions.
I absolutely, wholeheartedly recommend this care home.

Thank you all at Aashna House.

My mum was a resident of Aashna House since Apr 2016 and this will be my final review as she sadly passed away on Oct 2022. I have reviewed before with praise and support for Aashna House, but this year I cannot applaud them enough. Mum was in and out of hospital this year, and the last round was from Sep 9th till she passed away in hospital on 17th Oct, over 5 weeks later. All this year the staff rallied around my mum, encouraging her to eat, to live, to be a survivor! The care home manager and staff visited my mum in hospital but she succumbed to her various illnesses. These 6 some years at the Aashna House my mum was so very content and at peace. She was cared for, respected and lived with dignity. With help from the staff, she created a Muslim Prayer Room and used it constantly. She made friends and was a well-loved resident. I know she will be missed by all at Aashna House and I cannot recommend them enough and thank them for their consistent and brilliant care. Kudos!

My father has been a resident now for over a year. He often talks about how happy he is to be staying at Aashna House. Today, they had one of their frequent celebrations - there was music, singing, excellent food, and the staff all made an excellent effort by dressing up and trying to involve all the residents - responding to each resident's specific needs. Now I know that he is in a safe place with caring staff looking after him. The nursing team with the carers are safe and able to look after my dad's medication. The management team is very effective at leading the team, their monthly newsletters are informative and full of fun and colour.

A big thank you to the manager and staff for accommodating a small birthday party for my mum in the resident's lounge last Sunday 8th May. They made such a lot of effort and my Mum had a lovely time. It was the first time we had been able to visit as a larger group and nothing was too much trouble. They provided entertainment and food for the occasion and it was very well received.

My mother was in this home for a year and it was the most suitable as it met her physical, mental, and cultural needs. They treated her with dignity and given restrictions due to Covid, still enabled the contact needed for her well-being. When she passed away, they gave the time that we needed to enable us to start saying goodbye to her. The staff were all welcoming and treated her as their own family, which is all you could ask for.

My mother entered respite care at Aashna House Residential Care Home in June 2021. The manager and her staff could not have been more welcoming and attentive to my mother's needs. The standard of care is high and the team are respectful, compassionate and sensitive. Not sure we could have asked for much more.

The staff at the home are caring and helpful. They are responsive to my mother's needs and she is well looked after. Her dietary, spiritual, physical and emotional needs are well met. The staff are also responsive and sensitive to the concerns of family members. Communication between staff about the specific needs of a resident could occasionally be better!

My father has been at Aashna Care Home for 4 years now and he appears to look younger and healthier now. This is because of the excellent care he receives. I feel compelled to say how well the management and staff at Aashna House have continued to care for our brother during these unprecedented times of Covid 19. Our brother who is 61, and has Dementia and other learning difficulties have coped extremely well with the restrictions. Before now, his routine included regular weekly outings. The staff has clearly explained about lockdown procedure and we are so grateful to them for the care and compassion they have shown, repeatedly. We are able to communicate with him via Skype and phone and this has been of great comfort to both him and us. The team at Aashna House communicates with warmth and kindness, giving us every reason to believe that our brother is safe and in secure hands.

I am very pleased with Aashna House Residential Care Home. My sister has Alzheimer's and here the staff look after her with a lot of love and care. She is well looked after by ensuring she stays clean, eats well and sleeps well. Although my sister doesn't remember much but she looks happy.

My mother has been at Aashna for approximately a year now. She arrived following a bad fall and with advancing dementia. She is of South Asian origin and I was looking specifically for a care home that catered for South Asian needs. I thoroughly researched care homes all over London, both those catering for a general population and those catering for South Asians in particular. Aashna struck me immediately as the most welcoming and comfortable of all the places I visited and that assessment has been more than justified by the care my mother has received during the past year. Both the staff and the residents are friendly and relaxed and the home has the air of a happy communal residence. My mother's interactions with all the staff and fellow residents are the clearest indicators for me of her well being at Aashna.

I am extremely pleased with the care Aashna House is providing my brother who has special needs. All the staff have been very understanding, cooperative, empathetic, caring and helpful in all areas. I know my brother is not a very easy person to deal with due to his illness but the staff have taken him on board with a lot of care and understanding for which as a family we are very grateful for.

Review from Yasmin H (Daughter of Resident) published on 9 December 2019 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
It’s been almost two years since my Mum moved into Aashna House and I wanted to write to thank you for giving us our lives back.
There’s a stigma, in our community, that we must look after our parents and indeed we wanted to, and did for many years, but I couldn’t cope any more.
Every time I visit, Mum is so content and chilled and happy. She always says how blessed she feels to have all her ‘daughters’ and ‘brothers’ looking after her and how she can’t believe she is so lucky. Hearing this and seeing how well she is, brings me so much peace.
This last year, I’ve re-ignited my business, we give all the profits to helping some of the most vulnerable people in our society. I have the time and space to grow our business because I know my Mum is in safe hands. I hope to be working with Sanctuary Housing and growing the awareness of Dementia and how we can help give back.

Thank you, and your amazing team, for giving me the gift of pursuing my dreams.
