Aashna House is an exemplary care home. All the staff and management are extremely friendly, courteous and patient. They look after residents as though they are family and the home is spotless and clean. The elderly residents look happy and well cared for. All you could ever ask for from a care home.

Overall, I observe residents are respected, included in decisions regarding events, menu, participants in a variety of activities.
The staff are warm, friendly and treat my mother with respect, care, love, kindness and listen to her needs.

The leadership and management are vital for the staff/community of carers to feel included, heard and respected with a harmonious working which Aashna House does very well for carers to do their best for residents.

We are very happy about the service my father-in-law is receiving in the home. Everyone from managers, carers, cleaner, caterers, laundry service are all excellent, always smiles on their faces.

The home is kept clean, good quality food. Everything is taken care of including entertainment, exercise, interacting with residents making them feel homely.

Review from Paula B (Daughter of Resident) published on 19 March 2019 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My dad was a resident of Ashna House from 2001 until he passed away last week and had been part of the furniture at the care home.

The manager and the team do an outstanding job and have done for the last 18 years whilst my dad was a resident. He was very happy there and from start to finish when he passed last week, the team were nothing but compassionate, kind and caring.

I must mention my dad had an alcohol dependency and despite being a difficult character at times, the team never judged and gave only love, compassion and continued kindness.

I recommend this home to anyone who is looking for a home for their loved one as this team go above and beyond for their service users and I want this to be recognised.

Reply from Fae Doherty, Marketing Officer at Aashna House Residential Care Home

Dear Paula, thank you for taking the time to review Aashna House. I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of your father, being with us since 2001 I am sure the team will miss him greatly. It is wonderful to hear how happy you are with the care provided to your dad during his time with us. Best wishes, Fae

We have found Aashana House to be very accommodating and helpful with all my father's requirements from dietary, medical and day to day care.

It has only been a month since he has moved in but the entire team have made him feel very welcome and the homely atmosphere created by all the staff has made his transition from home to here very much easier than we had anticipated. He has nothing but praise for the care he has received to date and we are very optimistic that his and Aashana House relationship will thrive with time.

Overall Experience

My father has been residing in Aashna House since April 2018. He is well settled, relaxed and very happy here. The Manageress and all the staff are friendly, extremely polite, hospitable and very accommodating. I am always greeted with a smile and warm welcome when I visit. Dad thoroughly enjoys the freshly cooked food which is varied on a daily basis. He is encouraged to participate in varied, daily activities to ensure he stays as physically mobile and independent as possible and keep his mind active in the process. He also enjoys participating in frequent fun outings when health permits. The rooms are spacious, bright and airy. Most importantly, Aashna House provides a positive environment for my father, prioritising his safety, respect, dignity and privacy at all times.

Dear Parul, thank you for your detailed feedback! It really is invaluable to both our home, and to our potential residents and their families. I will be sure to pass your kind words onto Smita and her team. Best wishes, Fae

My brother, sister and I have been happy with the care our mother received at Aashna. My mother passed away a month ago after having lived there over 2 years. There was not a day gone by without mum mentioning how caring and friendly the staff. She loved food, entertainment and interaction with the residents and staff. She was encouraged to take part in games and activities that are organised to keep the resident’s body and mind active. After lunch, the chef would ask my mum if she enjoyed food & welcomed any changes to improve. My mum enjoyed avocado, pasta, pizza, garlic bread etc and this was served to her once in a while. We were always amazed at clean rooms & up to date laundered clothes. My mum found it very easy to settle into Aashna and felt extremely blessed with a pleasant caring staff exceeding her expectations. We as a family are very grateful and thankful for a great team at Aashna.

I have to say that we have visited many care homes in the past to visit a variety of friends and relatives but we are so happy that mum is in this care home. The staff are so friendly and so warm and welcoming every time - no matter what day or time we arrive and mum seems so happy and settled now. The regular activities keep mum active and involved and the food always smells so delicious every time I visit! A lovely place, clean and tidy and some very friendly and happy residents - including one that sung on stage with Elvis - how amazing is that?

Review from P P (Son of Resident) published on 1 May 2018 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My father is disabled and has special needs from a stroke, but the manager and team delivered excellent services to make his respite care stay enjoyable for him.

We were shown around the purpose-built facility and impressed with the professional operations, friendly staff, the cleanliness and spacious facilities. They performed a thorough assessment of dad’s special needs and created a tailored care plan covering all aspects of his personal hygiene, supporting equipment needs, medication and dietary constraints and requirements. I was impressed that all carers were called to observe the use of support aids like knee braces and custom boots.

Staff are always smiling, caring and helped him move around. Daily group activities including games, spiritual discourses on TV, movies and discussions helped all residents to bond and keep active.

Overall, a very caring and pleasant experience. The staff and services exceeded our expectations. I would strongly recommend Aashna House.

The best decision we as a family made last year was to have our mother rehoused at Aashna House Residential Care Home. She has settled in very well due to the strong bonds and relationships that she has forged with staff, management, and residents alike. Sanctuary Care Ltd run some excellent homes around the country and Aashna House Residential Care Home is especially suitable for those seeking a good cultural match.
